"Did she accept...why isn't she in her office?"Victor said with utter irritation. He was frustrated beyond reason that the people feeling his anger had their heads lowered afraid of looking up and seeing a raging monster. He went through so much trouble to make her happy. He even had to make his intentions to her public and bought her as many beautiful flowers as she would love

"S...sir...she...she took her desk and the flowers...she asked me to return them to...the owner"Priscilla gathered enough strength to explain what happened earlier in the morning. She was too scared to stand in front of her boss who was extremely angry because Ms. Payton didn't want his gifts. Not just his office or flowers but the special presence he had wrapped in a beautiful wrapping paper. Romantic breakfast was delivered to her which Vivienne gave to other colleagues and now Victor was not happy how she was turning down what he was giving her

"Out!"Victor yelled angrily and the two people didn't even waste a second in his presence as they fought to get away. The only one to save them from their grumpy boss was Vivie.

"How dare she" he muttered pacing back and forth angrily. He was restless since morning and the woman was ignoring him.

But Victor didn't give up because he still had more up his sleeves. Sooner or later his little redhead would come crawling to him. He had never felt this ignored in his entire life. She was giving him a hard time thinking or working. Her silence was only for a day but it was killing him slowly and he didn't like it.

Later in the afternoon, Victor called for a meeting. There wasn't any need for this but he knew everyone would come at their boss's command, even his redhead. He even went as far as leaving a chair close to him for Vivie, unfortunately, when she entered the conference room she switched seats with her friend and ended up sitting away from him. The entire time in the meeting she didn't even look at him. He expected her to at least pay attention as he spoke to all his employees however things ended like before.

The meeting ended and she was the first one to leave the conference room and later on when he wanted to give her a ride home. He was caught up with something as his partners invited him to dinner hence he left the building early while Vivienne went to her apartment

"I don't see why he took me to his place Vivie"Alexis complained while stuffing her face with ice cream. Today was good for me. I managed to get some work done peacefully despite the cheap stunts Victor was pulling. Everyone was looking at me as if. Especially when he surprised me with an office.

"He's a nice person, just admit it, "I told her when I came back to the living room with a plate of freshly made fries. Alexis had a nervous breakdown the previous day. She got sick and Maverick happened to be there to save the day but Alexis was being ungrateful to admit the doctor was naturally nice

"I don't see any difference...you should have seen how he was behaving in front of his family...like a total saint, "Alexis said with her mouthful, looking at her I didn't know what to think. To be honest she was more stubborn than I was. I wondered how we were friends since we couldn't agree on anything at times

"I've known him for a while okay...the doctor is good just tell him about everything and I'm certain he'll help you" the problem with Alexis was that she believed in first good impression and since her first encounter with Maverick was a horrible one she took that and now she had the assumption the Maverick was a bad man full of himself

"Enough about me...if I'm that horrible so are you...I mean the boss gave you your own office?"Alexis said with a frown pointing at me with her spoon. I knew her to look too well so telling her what Victor did earlier was an idea

"He shouldn't have...I didn't ask for anything" I said, averting my eyes from her frowned expression and started munching on my fries.

"Come on Vivie.. the man...made one little mistake why are you turning it into a huge mountain," Alexis said waving her hands in the air knowing full well she was on Victor's side. She wasn't in my shoes because if she was the one dating that man they should would acting in the same way

"He's used to having things the easy way...me for example...he had me without much effort," I said pointing out Victor's advantage of things. He didn't work hard to have me. That was why he took advantage of that because even after three years he didn't have to do anything to have me back because he knew his Surrogate only had hots for him

"Your point exactly" Alexis arched her brows and ate more of her ice. Both of us were in my apartment relaxing after a long day. Alexis spent her day in bed because she was sick so I passed by the ice cream shop and bought her a gallon of it and now she was stuffing her face like a kid

"My point is that...the man needs to break his back for me...this is nothing...it's just a day and he's cracking...he needs to learn to break his back for a woman he wants"I didn't mean to act this way with Victor. But he thought I was too weak for him especially when all he had to do was use his perfect body to lure me in. He knew nothing about romance or saying cheesy lines

"But you said it's not good to change someone to be how you want them to be?"Alexis said narrowing her eyes at me and I recall those words perfectly well

"But not Vic... you'll understand that once you have a man like him, "I said blinking a few times. I wasn't being difficult with the man but teaching him not to let emotions get the best of him. He saw a bunch of flowers which he didn't buy and went crazy. Yes, he was bound to get jealous even if I would behave in the same way but he had to listen to me first not call me a prostitute. I had self-respect he needed to understand that

"But you love him... Vivie, just stop this, get the man back...Leo called and your man is going crazy for you" Alexis said and I didn't like the sound of that. No one was supposed to interfere in my affairs with Victor. Especially Leo or Alexis. If we fight, that was between us. The room fell into silence as only the sound from the TV could be heard. Alexis ate her ice cream and I poured more sauce on my fries sooner I heard a phone vibrating and it was mine

"Here it's kyan calling"Alexis passed the phone to me since it was near her. Why was kyan calling so late at night

"Yes, Kyan, "I said immediately. I answered the call and waited for him to speak. I listened carefully as Kyan explained in a nervous tone

"What? I mean okay.. I'll be right there" I exclaimed in surprise upon hearing what kyan said and disconnected the call. Alexis was already on her feet

"What happened?"

"It's Skylar...she isn't well and wants to see me...I have to go"I said getting rid of the blanket I covered myself with and preparing to rush to my room to change the pajamas I was wearing

"Umm...what's going on...did they call a doctor?"Alexis asked, stopping me in my tracks. I didn't ask Kyan because I'm only concerned about Skylar. I haven't seen her for two days hence I had to go and see what was little princess was doing

"It doesn't matter...she wants to see me" if Skylar asked for me then I wasn't going to stay here even if it was late at night. I rushed to my room to change, I settled for a long warm coat with black leggings and a T-shirt and ankle boots since it was cold outside and when I was done I stormed out of my apartment leaving Alexis still wondering. Luckily I found a taxi to take me to Victor's mansion.
