Chapter 40: Chapter 40

As the lady walked out of Blade's office, I could hear her stamping her feet, and I was holding my breath for her. No idea why I acted in such a fearful manner toward that obnoxious octopus, but I did so as I looked at Blade, who was laughing, and then I walked away from him.

"You're such a show off."

"Who wouldn't be proud of such a beautiful wife," he said to me as I was about to walk away. He laughed, and it was nice to hear that from him. He hugged me tight after that.

"Girlfriend, don't forget that we are no longer married." Making a funny face, I explained that I was just trying him if he woukd take back what i've said.

When we were hugging, he let go of my arm and looked at me as if he were disappointed.

"Of course. I have to get used to that." He said

I was taken aback by what he said to me, and I had no idea that I would be even more disappointed by what he said.

"However, that does not prevent me from referring to you as my" Wife." He said to me and gave me a wink.

I looked at him and then turned away from him and a smile flashed through my face as I returned to my seat, and he did the same; we were both preoccupied with what we needed to finish, and as the day goes by so was the rumor spreading about the child and the fine to face by Blade, and they will conduct a meeting soon, because the share holders were concerned about the name of the company.

And i was going through the financial charts so much money is missing after the next record and every document I see recored who are off way back a year and four years before that but maybe they've already solved this because the company wouldn't be this successful if they didn't solve it properly, and didn't payed too much attention. I don't know what is going on in their company but these stocks weren't a joke and so much money is missing after the next record.

I looked by the door and watched as Blade entered and proceeded to my desk after dealing with the board, securing them to the fact that it was being settled. I'm not sure why he stopped right in front of me with iced coffee in his hand, but he did.

"Would you like to take a break?" he asked, offering me another of his holds, which I gladly accepted.

We sat in the living room, and we were both quite accustomed to this arrangement; we didn't have to talk all the time, and sometimes it was really important to just sit together and enjoy each other's company.

We were having a good time despite the fact that there was a lot of work to be done and that the deadline was tomorrow; I still had things to finish and pass on to him; and even though I was his spouse, it was not necessary for him to give me special treatment because of that.

I was taken aback when he turned to face me, and I raised my brows when our gazes locked.

"One more thing, I'm not sure what you were up to with the woman who claimed she was pregnant, but she just wanted to come here without you," he said, and my brows were drawn together.

"Huh? Why? Have you had the opportunity to meet her? " While sipping my coffee, I inquired of Blade.

"At the moment, i only talk to her throguh the phone but that was her condition; I'm also not sure how she found out you were here, but she doesn't appear to be the type to be asked gently." He said but I didn't say anything, just looked at him.

"In order for her to understand that I am truly the only one who's in this room, I'll clear your table and place it in the meeting room first." I wasn't convinced by what he said, so I wondered why I had to remain anonymous. If only I could get her to talk to me as well.

His plan may have been crazy from the way my expression says it, and he chose to speak up about it.

"Please assist me with this baby; I want to demonstrate everything to you that i'm not the father, but right now I require your assistance." He said this while holding my hand and gently caressing my face with the other.

I nodded my head and gathered my belongings as I carefully carried them to the meeting room, which was conveniently located inside Blade's office and was easily accessible. After the meeting was completed, I said goodbye to Blade and told him that I believed him, but that he didn't know that I had a plan of my own.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back." I said goodbye to Blade and walked out the door.

Blade's point of view

I've been patiently waiting for what seems like an eternity, and now it's finally here. I'm certain that won't happen, and I'm nervous about it. I purchased branded condoms and even tested them to see if they could be pierced by a simple needle, so I'm confident that won't happen, especially since I'm being particularly cautious.

I looked back and forth at the clock above my door and at the door, then there was a sudden knock on the door that I was expecting, and this woman came in, and I didn't recognize her, but I smiled at her.

"Please take a seat." I informed her.

When I went to the bar the last time, it was after my confrontation with Alessia, and I was with John and that secured my post. She was wearing a fitted dress with her hair above the shoulder, and I was reassured that she wasn't too skinny for being pregnant with a flabby stomach.

And she was just staring at me before she finally said something.

"The last person to take a move on me was you, and it's possible that you're so drunk that you don't remember that I didn't plan for this baby." she exclaimed, breaking down and sobbing.

But I didn't feel any sympathy and instead began to question and reflect on what had happened. Because of everything that had happened, I can't seem to get a memory on it all, especially considering that it had happened months ago.

"I believe you've mistook me for someone else. If you really are pregnant, please prove it. I'll wait for the baby to be born and as soon as he's born, we'll provide a DNA sample." I informed her.

Yes, we had to wait a whole 9 or 8 months, but that was fine with me. She placed a pregnancy test in front of me, which came back positive, but I wasn't nervous because I was confident that I wasn't the one she was looking for.

"Now i've provided you with some proof how about my pregnancy? You must lend your support to me " she exclaimed, shouting hysterically

And that was my cue that she couldn't really be asked in the most nicest way, and the door opened, and Alessia walked through it and forward to the seated lady.

"If you're really pregnant, you should test this one right now," she told the woman handling the rectangular small box, pregnancy test.

"Drizela," she added with a smirk on her face
