Chapter 29: Chapter 29
<Azaria>
"Is it true? Tell me the truth, Nikolai," I said, with a hint of threat in my voice.
"Don't be mad, please."
"I'll think about it. Are the things that woman with the big mouth said true?" I asked him boldly.
He sighed.
"Promise me that you won't get mad at me," he said, sounding afraid.
"I won't get mad as long as you tell me the truth."
He nodded hesitantly and looked at me tenderly.
"It's true," he said briefly and quickly held my hand, "but it doesn't matter, right? Wife?"
I pulled my hand away from his grasp.
"Why did you come out dressed like that, huh?" I snapped at him.
He was only wearing a tank top and boxer shorts.
"I thought you had run away again, so I hurriedly came out of the room to find you," he said like a child and pulled me closer to him. He wanted our bodies to be close together even while walking.
He's so clingy.
He didn't ask me about what I found out. It no longer mattered to me, and what was important was that they never made me feel like I was adopted, and why would I even bother with drama when I am in a good situation and come from a wealthy family.
Camille was just being foolish to think that I would create drama.
"Don't leave me, I want to wake up by seeing you," he said affectionately and kissed me on the head.
"I'm hungry, Nick," I informed him.
"Do you want me to cook, or should I just order something?" His voice remained affectionate.

"You're fucking stupid!" Tatay Robert shouted at Lanvin when he saw him. Lanvin came to work late today, even though he had an important meeting.
Robert greeted his eldest son with anger as he saw him.
"I let you get away with your foolishness before! But what's this, Lanvin, huh?! You're neglecting the company because of that woman! You didn't show up for your meeting with the Valdez! Do you know how much we lost for our company, huh?!" He yelled in anger at his son.
Robert was sitting on Lanvin's swivel chair, waiting for him for five hours. It was already afternoon when Lanvin arrived, his hair disheveled. This wasn't how his son looked when he came to work.
"My wife didn't feel well yesterday," was Lanvin's excuse.
"That woman again is your reason! Don't we have enough household staff to take care of her! You have so many household help, Lanvin! You know the meeting with the Valdez corporation is important, but you didn't show up!" Robert snapped.
Lanvin fixed his hair as he walked towards the sofa and sat down.
"I'm sorry, dad, I'll handle this," he apologized.
"Dad, I couldn't leave my wife yesterday. She needs me."
His father got even angrier at his response.
"Damn you!" Robert said with frustration, "you're going crazy over that woman! I've been telling you, Lanvin, if you don't get rid of your madness for that woman, she will be your downfall! Get your life together! I've been covering up for your mistakes! If you don't secure the partnerships with the Valdez, I'll tell her the truth to drive her away from you!" His father threatened him with a fierce look.
"Try to tell her the truth, and you'll be up against me," Lanvin coldly replied to his father as he walked past him.
Robert stopped in front of his son and shook his head.
"You're crazy," he said, shaking his head, and then he walked past his son.
Lanvin was his only hope for the company, as his youngest daughter was still too young to take over.
That's why he searched for Lanvin when he went missing because he needed an heir and someone to help him in the company.
He's always been stubborn.
On the other hand, Lanvin took his iPhone and called home.
"How's my wife?" He asked the household staff who answered the call.
"Sir, ma'am is still sleeping," was the response.
"Call me when she's awake," Nick coldly instructed and ended the call.
Perhaps his wife got tired, that's why she fell back asleep.
He's feeling inspired to work today.

"Markie!" I called out his name as soon as I saw him.
I was about to leave the house, telling them that I would visit Nick at his company, but I went straight here instead.
"Ashang!" He called me back and hugged me tightly.
His embrace was warm and comforting.
"I miss you," he said affectionately.
"I miss you so much too!" I replied.
"You keep texting, but you never reply," he pouted.
"Sorry, I've been busy managing my funeral business," I apologized.
He led me inside his condo.
"What happened to you? I heard about everything that happened," he said, playfully pinching my cheek.
I frowned.
"Yeah, I became famous. I resolved my issue, but you guys haven't recovered yet. My investors abandoned me, and I ended up with a lot of debt. They even called me a scammer," I said with a sigh.
"Where's Lucifer? Why isn't he with you?" He asked with curiosity.
I leaned back on the sofa.
"We haven't been seeing each other much since I got involved in that issue. But I'll fix it. I love him so much, and he's the greatest love of my life. I even dreamt that we got married," I mentioned.
"Really? Are you telling the truth?" He asked in surprise. He stood up and went to the kitchen.
"Beh, I'll only tell you this, okay?" I said when he came back. He handed me a juice, and I accepted it.
"I'll tell you first. I haven't met Heidi yet. I'll tell you everything first."
He sat in front of me. He also grabbed some chips for us to snack on.
"I keep dreaming of a man, and in my dreams, we're married and happy together," I told him. "We're so joyful in those dreams. The weird thing is, I always dream of him, but I can't see his face," I added.
"Maybe he's your husband from your past life," he teased, laughing.
"Ugh, you brat! I'll go back to Lucifer. I love that man so much," I declared.
Lucifer, whom I wouldn't trade for anyone else.
"Beh, do you happen to know where Lucifer is?" I asked in a soft voice.
"Do you still want to see him? He's happy with another woman now," he replied.
I didn't react.
"Just kidding," he quickly reassured, "you got sad so easily."
"I want to win him back," I said seriously.
"You're going crazy, Ashang. You left him, and now you want him back?" He retorted.
I met Lucifer because of him.
"I've only come to appreciate him now. Despite all the red flags, I love him dearly for all the effort he made for me before. That's why I started a business, so we could have money for our dates," I whispered, "I regret leaving him. I want to win him back. In our last conversation, he told me to see if there's still a chance for us," I said sadly.
"You two are so confusing! I supported your decision to break up with him, and now you're going crazy," Markie said.
We continued discussing my love life, but our conversation was interrupted when my iPhone rang, and I looked at the caller ID.
It was my hubby calling.
Nick was calling me.
"Beh, I have to go. They're looking for me at the company!" I hurriedly said to Markie.
He might have found out I wasn't at home.
I asked the driver to take me to the company, but I didn't go straight to Markie's place to talk to him and ask about Lucifer's whereabouts. I wanted to see Lucifer so we could have closure.
The journey took thirty minutes, and I got stuck in traffic. Meanwhile, Nick called me several times, and I didn't answer any of his calls. I knew he must be frowning and getting angry.
I couldn't sit still; I knew he must have figured out that I was going to see him.
"Keep the change, Manong!" I told the driver as I got out of the taxi.
"Oh, damn! Sorry! Sorry!" I apologized to the person I accidentally bumped into.
The person I bumped into helped me pick up my things that fell on the floor, and luckily, I caught my iPhone.
"Aren't you looking where you're going?" I asked the person in irritation.
I stopped and looked seriously at the man. He was chubby, dark-skinned, and had a beard.
He seemed familiar; I felt like I had seen him before.
"Have we met before?" I asked him.
He was about to answer when Nick called me again. This guy was really getting on my nerves.
"Are you Azaria?" he asked.
I found his question a bit weird.
"Are you the wife of the owner of this company?" he asked, pointing towards the building.
Ah, right. I'm famous. It's no wonder he couldn't recognize me.
"Somebody asked me to give this to you," he handed me a white envelope, "can you read it when you're alone?"
I stared at the envelope for a while before taking it.
What is this? A love letter?
"I hope you find out the truth," he whispered.
He suddenly left, covering himself with sunglasses and a cap. He was acting weird, like he was hiding.
What could be inside this envelope?
My iPhone rang again, so I hurriedly entered the company building.
