Chapter 18: Chapter 18
<Azaria>
I couldn't handle it anymore, so I left them.
I looked pitiful.
I'm the only one who didn't study abroad. I know Camille likes Nick.
I'm such a crybaby.
I'll just go out to a bar. Damn it! I don't have any money.
I couldn't stop myself from crying. I ran into my room so that no one would see me crying. The guy didn't even bother to follow me.
And that Camille, clinging to Nick like a leech.
When they were both in the States, did they meet?
I dialed Hailey's number.
"Hey, what's up?!" she greeted me.
"Oh damn! When you call me, you can't not cry. What happened?!" she shouted.
It was noisy in the background. We just dropped her off a while ago, and she's already at a bar.
"Come pick me up here. I don't want to stay here," I pleaded with her.
"Where are you? I'm at a party right now, but I'll come pick you up," she calmly said. How many hours did it take for Nick and me to get to the mansion? She moves so fast. When it's about parties and drinking, this woman acts quickly.
I hate Camille.
"I'm at the mansion, but wait for me outside. Park far from the house so you won't get caught on CCTV," I reminded her.
When they find out that I'm with Hailey, they'll know that we're up to some mischief again.
"Okay, sure, hurry up, alright? I'm with my second boyfriend," I told her.
I ended the call.
Those two are so flirtatious.
"Hey, tell me what happened, huh?" Hailey asked me as soon as I got into her car.
No one noticed that I left. And those two might be tangled up in bed by now. Camille is such a flirt.
Besides, no one will be looking for me. Everyone dislikes me.
"Hey! You fool, tell me what happened!" Hailey scolded me as we drove out of the subdivision, she drives so fast.
"Let's go to a bar," I said to her, tears welling up in my eyes.
"Tell me first. What happened to you after your rich grandpa picked you up?"
"Me and Nick are married. You remember Nikolai? My grandpa wants me to marry him," I couldn't help but cry. I hadn't told her earlier about the happenings in my life because we were too excited to go shopping. We didn't have time to chat about personal things, and besides, Nick was with us, so we remained silent.
I feel upset because my dream wedding didn't happen.
"That handsome adopted grandson of your grandpa?! Wow, you hit the jackpot, girl! He's my crush, but I didn't want you to set me up with him! I was so thrilled when I saw him earlier!" Hailey teased.
I pulled her hair even though I was crying.
"Ouch! Come on, girl!" Hailey reacted.
"That's why you didn't want me to be set up with that man because you have a crush on him, right?" Hailey teased further.
"I don't like him at all, and it will never happen! I despise that man! He took everything from me! Now, I don't even have a penny. He's a cheater! A womanizer!" I said angrily as I clenched my fists.
"As they say, the more you hate, the more you love, yieh!" Hailey teased.
"And by the way, you might end up eating your words. He's so handsome! He has long fingers and a sharp jawline. He's tall and looks yummy!" Hailey giggled.
I gave her a stern look for what she said.
"Is he really delicious?" She asked with a mischievous smile.
"Ew, gross! I won't allow anything to happen between us! He doesn't deserve me!" I complained.
"Maybe it's you who doesn't deserve him," she retorted.
"Are we really friends?! Why does everyone like Nick?" I shouted.
"Oh, come on! Don't be so dramatic, girl. Of course, we're friends, and your husband is my crush, hihi. On a different note, why don't you get to know your husband? He seems like a nice guy, and he also looks yummy," she laughed at her own remarks. This girl always has mischief on her mind.
"Maybe you should eat your words and have some watermelon."
I feel like pulling this girl's hair for the things she's saying.
"Gross! Creepy! I can't even imagine having a child! I don't want kids because they're annoying!" I said irritably.
I always find myself getting annoyed. It seems like I was born to be irritated.
"Seriously, what's wrong with you? Are you crying because you got married to Nick? He should be the one crying because he's at a loss with you, friend. If you don't want your husband anymore, just give him to me, huh? I accept second hand," she joked.
I'm not amused by her jokes. I pulled her hair again, and she screamed.
"You're impossible to joke with. Why, are you already in love with your yummy husband? If I were you, I'd get pregnant right away. It's a win-win situation. With those long fingers, he's already worth it," she said with a grin.
Her words give me the creeps.
"He's a cheater. We've been married for less than a month, and he already has another woman. He lets Camille flirt with him even though he knows he's married. He's shameless, and he does it right in front of me," I said bitterly.
"Camille? Your cousin who's even more high-maintenance than you? Is she still alive?"
I nodded in response. Just thinking about what happened earlier makes me want to cry.
My iPhone suddenly rang. Nick is calling.
I furrowed my brow, wondering how his number got saved here.
"Wow, a new cellphone. No money but managed to buy an iPhone Pro Max Deep Purple, fully paid, 256GB," Hailey commented.
I turned off my phone.
"He bought this for me," I said.
Even though I didn't mention his name, she knew who I was referring to.
"Wow, you have a sugar daddy. You're so lucky in life, friend. Can I have some of that luck too?" Hailey teased.
"Why did you turn off your fully paid iPhone?" she asked.
I became sad again.
"I'm angry at him," I repeated.
"When have you not been angry at him? It seems like he prefers your cousin over you, huh? If I were you, I'd stake my claim on my yummy husband! Yum! Yum!" Hailey exclaimed, licking her lips. It was so cringe-worthy.
"Let go of your anger towards your husband, and be grateful for the blessings that come your way, even though he took everything from you."
I didn't listen to what Hailey said.
"I'm just playing with him. Once he falls for me, I'll let him go," I said seriously.
"You think you know everything about life," Hailey replied, shaking her head.
We remained silent throughout the rest of the journey.
"You can dance, you can dive," Hailey sang.
We were at the top cloud bar, and we found a spot with not too many people around. Most of the crowd was at the center stage, dancing.
I didn't feel like partying; I just wanted to sulk in a corner.
"You can brood later. Let's dance! I've been envious of the people on the center stage," Hailey said, pulling me along.
I decided to go along with her.
If she can flirt, then so can I! Why should I let myself be affected when I can do the same? It's been a while since I went to a bar, so I might as well make the most of it.
I danced and swayed my hips.
A guy danced with me and held me by the waist.
"You're sexy," he commented, his hand still on my waist as we danced.
I had a bottle of alcohol in my other hand.
"You're handsome. Can you be mine?" I flirted with him.
He bit his lower lip.
"That's too fast, but I won't mind it as long as it's a sexy woman like you," he said, while squeezing my butt.
I have a plump butt.
I didn't know where Hailey was, but she could handle herself, and I'll probably see her later. I didn't think she'd leave me here alone. I had no money for transportation home.
He brought his face close to mine, and I waited for his kiss. I circled my hands around his neck as his lips touched mine.
We were in the middle of the dance floor, kissing deeply, while his hands roamed over my body.
"Let's go to a private place," he whispered against my lips as he paused the kiss.
I moaned, and he kissed me again.
Suddenly, we heard loud screams, and the guy I was kissing disappeared in an instant.
When I opened my eyes, everyone was looking at me, and the music had stopped.
"Oh my god!" one person exclaimed while looking at the floor. I followed their gaze and gasped when I saw Nick delivering powerful punches to the guy I was kissing.
"Nick!" I shouted his name and pulled him away.
"Asshole! Fuck you!" Nick cursed at the guy and pulled me out of the bar aggressively.
His jaw was clenched, and his gaze was dark and intense. The veins on his arms were visible, showing his anger.
He held me tightly, and he seemed like he could kill me with his anger.
"Get in!" I flinched at his shout.
I quickly went inside because I was afraid of him.
How did he find out I was here?
Isn't he busy with Camille?
Why is he here?
Why is he angry?
His jaw was clenched. Neither of us spoke as we arrived at the house.
All I could hear was the beating of my heart.
I'm scared of him because he seems like he could do something terrible right now.
He dragged me inside the house.
