Chapter 63: Chapter 63

“I think he kept on forgetting his meds since he took that job as a substitute prof in one of my courses,” I mumbled.

They all looked at each other.

“We should have reminded him!”

“We did! He just wouldn’t listen!”

“Damn, we are really in trouble. If his father hears this…”

The bodyguard couldn’t even do anything as the doors opened and a dozen of men in suits came rushing in, along with an old man who looks like an older version of Rameo…

He had gray hairs and wrinkles, but he still looked dignified and intimidating. Powerful.

His eyes quietly scanned the room as everyone became silent.

“Where is my son?”

I instantly myself to a room. That must be Rameo’s father!

And behind his father, were his two twins that I mistook him as.

On the right was Theon who was holding the child named Arson. “What did he do again for him to get here? I have to cancel my billion-dollar meeting for this. It better be worth it.”

Arson, who still looked adorable as the last time I remembered was just quietly looking around. He was trembling a bit and I fought the urge to run there and hug him.

On the left was Matheo..the man that I had a one-night stand with. He was yawning as his eyes teared, “Man, I slept late last night. Let’s get this over with.”

Looking at them, they looked alike! Of course, they are!! What could I expect?

I mumbled a curse. Damn, why are they here? The whole family is here! Except for this mother!

Their father glared at them, “Quiet you two. This is your older brother here.”

“Except he’s only two seconds older.” Said Theon.

“He has always been weak, isn’t he?” Matheo added.

The doctor emerged from the private room and asked, “Is his family here?”

“Here.” The doctor then went to them and said some words. I could only hear some so I tried hard to eavesdrop.

“The pain will always be there. That medicine only acts as his stabilizer. Soon, it won’t be helped and his feet will be incinerated.”

They seemed to be staying here for too long so I decided to go home. I have to study hard as it's finals week and we have lab exams.

But I couldn’t focus. All I could think about was Rameo and his damn twins.

Damn, this.

The next day, when I returned to the hospital, his bodyguards were there guarding him.

“Is he awake yet?” I asked them.

“No. He is still under treatment.”

I nodded, carefully placing the fruits I bought on the way.

“Slice these for him when he wakes up.” They nodded, but they asked for my number incase they need anything.

On my way back to the community college, I took the exams and got home feeling tired.

Just then, as I was walking by the streets, I felt a hand covering my mouth and taking me to the alley.

I instantly grabbed my self-defense knife and pepper spray.

“Get off of me!” I yelled, struggling and biting the hands and it loosened.

“Ow!” The person complained, “Stop it! I am not going to hurt you!”

I grabbed my knife and placed it on his neck, “Who are you?”

As my eyes landed on him, the same blue eyes that I have been hiding from, I gulped.

I instantly retracted my knife and tried to run but he was quick to pin me to the wall.

“I finally found you, mysterious girl.” His deep voice said, “You disappeared from me that night, you know that I have been looking for you everywhere.

Only to see you here in this remote place…walking from my brother’s hospital room?”

I cleared my throat, “Who are you?”

His cheeky grin suddenly dropped, “Awe baby, you instantly forgot about me?”

I gritted my teeth, not knowing what to say.

“I heard rumors about how happy my brother is these days. I didn’t expect that you are the one responsible for his happiness, princess.”

“Leave.”

“Leave? You’re asking me to leave? I demand an explanation! I felt used, you just left me that night!”

“That was a mistake.”

He looked offended and sad as if I had said something that hurt him. “A mistake? Babe, that was a one-night stand.” He then grabbed something from his pockets.

A piece of paper to be exact.

He then pushed it to me, “Then tell me, was this a mistake too?”

I read the paper slowly and gasped.

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.

Signed by:

SAPHIRA ZIARA BERNADEZ UY

MATHEO GLAZE VENESIAN

It had my signature on top of my complete name.

My lips trembled, “W-what is that?”

He looked at me, smirking, “Did you forget? We are married. We are married since that night. Try to remember it, babe.”

I scoffed, “You’re joking. You’re kidding right?” I was never the type to make a decision so rash like that. I know myself.

“No. This is true!”

And I never make a mistake.

So that must be a fake.

“Get that thing out of my face. That is a fake one. If you think you could fool me easily then you are wrong!” I instantly grabbed the paper and ripped it into shreds.

Matheo frowned, “Did you just rip that apart?”

“Yes.”

He chuckled, “Wow, I knew this would happen. That’s just the photocopy. The original one is at my house.

I also backed that up. Why don’t you believe me that it is true? You were drunk that time!” He was getting agitated now.

“Exactly! I was too drunk to remember anything! So why did you not stop me? We barely knew each other!”

“You kept on pushing me! And I had my lawyers there at that time.” He explained, trying to remain calm. “And why can’t you accept it? You signed it yourself.”

I breathed deeply, feeling like I could get into a heart attack.

“I was young. That was not valid-“

“That was only months ago.”

I couldn’t help as my knees turned weak and I fell on the floor.

I had so many dreams. Why did I sabotage myself that night? When Tori took me to that club, I was not myself. I was full of anger. Too heartbroken and wanted revenge on my ex-boyfriend who cheated on me with my sister.

And knowing that I made a terrible mistake that night makes me want to travel back in time and punch some sense into myself. I felt tears on my face.

“How about you? You remember anything that night?”

“A little.”

I closed my eyes, “Please forget that night. Make that piece of paper invalidated.” I grabbed his knee, almost begging.

My future is all destroyed just because of that piece of paper.

“We can’t do that. You’re officially a Mrs. Venesian now.”

I cringed.

“How are you feeling knowing that you have tasted the three of us?”

I wanted to punch him for that, making me look like a slut. “You bastard!”

“Or is it you want my twin and not me?” He then shook his head, “I want to give some advice. Don’t associate yourself to my twin. you don't know what you are getting yourself into.”

His voice sounded like a warning and I couldn’t help but get curious and ask more. I was about to open my mouth when a deep voice called out from behind.

“Matheo!”

My eyes widened. No. That voice…

I instantly stood up and fixed my clothes. “Don’t tell him we are here.”

“Or what?”

He smirked and yelled, “Here!”

“I heard you have a past with my other brother too. Say hello to him then.”

As he whispered that, the other twin, whom I was hiding from, appeared.

He was carrying Arson.

My eyes widened. He was looking at Matheo his twin, “Tsk, you’re here. Stop hitting on women, will you? Father was-“

He couldn’t finish his sentence when he saw my face.

He blinked, “Theon, I trust that you know each other?”

Theon cleared his throat, walking closer now, “Ms. Uy? From Uy Tech Industries?”

I gulped wanting to run away but I am being cornered by these two.

“Who knew we would cross paths again? I was…devastated to know when you canceled our engagement, dear.” He said calmly, as Arson was looking at me with sparkling eyes.

“Arson misses you.”

Arson walked towards me and I hugged him.

“Hello, Arson.” I greeted them, although wanting to leave this situation, I can’t escape from his adorableness.

“That is my woman, Theon.” Matheo suddenly said, “Don’t steal her from me.”

I gasped and Theon too, was surprised.

He glanced at me and back at his brother

Theon cleared his throat and faced his brother, “Excuse me but can I borrow her for a second? I would like to talk to her more in private.”
