Chapter 12: Chapter 12

I didn’t have any choice but to do as he wanted. I went into the fitting room to change and when I returned, Ajax was already paying a the counter, along with the other souvenir keychains, pins, and all random stuff.

And he bought about a hundred.

“you bought a lot.”

“I’ll be giving this to my family, my workers.”

I didn’t know he would be so thoughtful.

“We have somewhere to go to right? I; 'll h=just have them deliver m orders.”

“You know you could save more money if you bought t another store. this shop isrippingg your money.”

“Don’t worry, I have a lot. And think of it as my way of helping this store.”

We then walked hand in hand.

I pushed his hand away but he was persistent.

“Hold me, I might get lost.”

I didn’t have any choice but to hold it.

I took him to the manila zoo where we could see different animals. I made him see even the reptiles. I was sitting proudly, expecting to see his scared reaction but he was surely saying yes to everything, even letting the zoo keeper hang the white snake on his neck.

“Elaina! Come! This is fun!” He chuckled, as he softly and gently held the snake, petting it as if it was just a dog. “This makes me want to own a pet snake.” He mumbled.

“No thanks, I’ll just stay here,” I said, getting my phone and taking some pictures of him. He smiled at the camera, flashing his dashing teeth and perfect smile.

He then grabbed my hand, “Oh, just come!” He said excitedly. I was then pushed toward him and I was face to face with the snake on his shoulder now...

“She’s a good girl. She won’t bite you.” He tried to comfort me and I gulped. I mean I am not scared…

Okay, I admit maybe I am…

Fear somewhat overtook me that I wasn’t able to manage to hold the snake.

Our adventure continued on ocean park and rides while we could and it was almost evening when we were done. I wanted to eat out for dinner so we walked toward my favorite restaurant.

Tired and hungry, I was just silent as we walk there.

“I enjoyed every second.” He said, his cheeks reddening. “Especially it is with you…Did you?”

I cleared my throat, “I did the end of our deal. Happy now?”

He nodded, his smile reaching his cheek. “Yes. I am satisfied.”

But then, our conversation was stopped as our path was blocked.

“Hold up. Give me all of your money.”

I blinked, taking a few seconds before I realized it.

Damn.

I forgot to consider this!

Of course, we’d get robbed! Especially in this area! What a dumb move!

Ajax, who was quick to catch on, instantly pulled me to the side as he faced the robber.

He stood his ground, his jaw clenched as if analyzing the scene.

I gulped, my first time being robbed. Such wrong timing.

I expected him to run or stop moving, but Ajax looked calm enough.

Quietly, he took his wallet and handed it to the man, Here, take this. You surely need it.” “

I stopped, my whole mouth widening, “What? You’re giving it to the thief?”

He looked at me as if I was the weird one here, “Why not? I’m sure he has a reason.”

I facepalmed myself, “Gosh! Ajax!”

The robber was even stunned as he stood there.

I glared at him, “What? Isn’t that enough? I don’t have my money with me so he’s my source of money for now.” I said honestly. Well, I indeed didn’t have any cash on me now. Thank goodness I left my bag in Ajax’s car.

The robber was trembling a bit and instantly ran away from us. “You…don’t report me to the police!”

I rolled my eyes, “Tsk, what a fool. He was such a coward!”

I faced Ajax who was just quiet.

“Let’s go now.” He said as he continued walking as if nothing happened.

I blinked, finding it hard how he is not even complaining to me.

Not even one word.

Is he…even normal?

“You’re not even going to complain to me? I know it is my fault. I made you ride the jeep full of sweaty people, walk under the heat of the sun, walk with the crowd, and even take this route that we got robbed.”

Ajax chuckled, “What do you mean complain? I should be thanking you. It was a fun experience for me. We don’t have this in my country. This is new to me. I like experiencing my first time with you. And I ticked off my bucket list.”

“Bucket list? I didn’t know you would be the type to have that…” I mumbled, “Do you have a disease? Is it possible you are dying?”

He just shook his head, “Come on, let’s eat our dinner. I’m starving.”

We finally reached the restaurant. It wasn’t anything fancy, it was just simple, just my type.

I paused, realizing that I didn’t have any money with me, and neither is he as all his cards were gone earlier.

“Oh…we can’t pay…none of us has money,” I said, hearing my stomach rumbling.

A smirk played on his lips as he pulled another wallet from his pockets.

I blinked, “How? Didn’t you give it all earlier?”

“Who said that was my real money? Those were just fake credit cards.”

I gasped, oh…fake? So that’s why he wasn’t bummed as he gave it! I can’t help but chuckle, “Smart move.”

He winked at me, “Thanks. I just came prepared. Now order anything you want, babe.”

He then looked around, “Does it have many people here? Want me to rent the whole place-“
