Chapter 42: Chapter 42

Kiss.

What is a kiss? What is it worth?

As a child, Belinda received a lot of kisses on the forehead and cheeks from her parents and some from people she’d only seen once but is said to be a distant relative.

But those kisses are not like this.

The feeling.

The taste.

The smell.

Belinda’s heart is racing fast, her eyes are closed.

A Bold Move.

“Calm Down”

When James said these words, Belinda’s heart does the opposite of calming down. James’ brown eyes seem to see through her soul and unlock a pandora box in there.

Strike one.

When James held her hand and guided her to sit beside him, the butterflies in her stomach seemed to party.

Strike two.

And when Belinda asked James if he will not ask her what the heck is happening, but instead of interrogating her and making her regret her life choices, James just said:

“If a person does not want to say something, they either choose to stay quiet for a reason or do not trust the person yet. Do you trust me? “

Strike!

Belinda’s mind went blank. She got lost in those brown eyes.

Lips.

The next thing Belinda saw is James’ lips. Those sweet-looking red lips seem to know the right words to say.

Belinda’s hand worked faster than her mind and when James smiled she was knocked out.

Belinda reached on James' collar and pulled him closer to her.

Kissed.

Belinda closed her eyes.

James' eyes are open wide- confused with what is happening.

Ten seconds.

It just lasted ten seconds.

Belinda pushed James, the latter still confused about what just happened.

“What the heck?!” James blurted out

“Why did you do that for?” James continued.

The flustered Belinda did not know how to respond.

Why did you do that for?

James' question is on repeat in her mind. Why did she do that? Belinda did not know as well. There is just something on James that seems to be comforting, seemed to be familiar.

Belinda knows that James likes Angel, she knew it since the first time she saw her in Angel’s apartment and it seems that only Angel doesn’t know.

They did not see each other after that.

James did not go after Belinda. Belinda has no way of reaching out to James even if she wanted to.

It is just a kiss.

No big deal.

Belinda convinces herself in vain because even at this moment, a crucial moment right before she jumps off the Han River standing on the edge of the bridge in a stormy night.

No one is around.

Everybody is at home.

Everybody seemed to have a home.

A person to lean on.

Everybody.

Except her.

Life’s unfair

Thoughts on her mind.

It is my fault. I killed them.

Belinda is now standing on the other side of the railings on the river, ready to dive her hands are on her sides.

Eyes closed.

The rain is getting stronger.

And I even sold my only friend.

A deep breath.

One.

Two.

Three.

Belinda lets go of the railings, waiting for her fall.

But.

A hand grabbed her from behind.

It is strong.

It is sturdy.

It is familiar.

“Are you crazy?!”

Shouts the voice from behind.

And yes.

Just as a knight in shining armor, he showed up at the most crucial time to save the damsel in distress.

James pulled and carried Belinda out of the bridge and on the side of the road just meters away in the roars of the rain.

“Ya! Are you crazy?! What the heck are you trying to do here?!” James shouted at Belinda that she barely heard not only because of how strong the rain and winds are but also because Belinda is once again lost in James’ eyes.

James guided the silent Belinda inside the car. Once Belinda felt James’ touch on her shoulders her heart ran wild.

Like a steed tied in a pole, Belinda’s heart seems to jump out of her chest.

The storm is strong. James is saying something but Belinda couldn’t care less, she can’t hear anything but her heartbeat.

James all he could to continue driving but the storm is too strong and the best he could do is to park in a safe place until the storm is weaker enough for them to pass.

James was able to find a safe parking space it is two in the morning but because of the storm, it is so dark outside without a soul.

James has been noticing that Belinda is pacing out, he asked her a question a couple of times but she is not answering. James tapped Belinda’s shoulders, she is sitting on the passenger’s seat.

That tap.

Served as the key that finally untied the struggling steed inside Belinda’s heart.

Because of that tap, Belinda looked at James.

Ten seconds is all it took, a ten-second look into his eyes and Belinda lost her self-control. Belinda reach out to James, the latter confused and yet seemed to have an idea of what is going in.

“Wa-wait a sec,”

James’ vain attempt to reason out but Belinda already pulled him closed and took over his lips. At first, James tried to resist but he failed at the first moan that he heard from Belinda.

Everything just happened naturally.

In the middle of a storm.

In a dark parking lot.

A car dances in the tune of the night.

An intense exchange of kisses.

Moaning sound in the air.

Belinda is now on top of James moving her hips up and down while James caresses her naked body.

It is cold.

Yet their bodies are covered in sweat.

James and Belinda found their way at the back seat, James is now at the back of Belinda. The car is moving so much and the rain can barely hold their noises as both James and Belinda swore when they are about to reach their peak.

And they did.

Belinda fell asleep.

James is torn and wonders why he likes it so much.

It is clear to him that he loves Angel, but what is this? A night with Belinda is enough to make him question his feelings.

What should he do, what should be his next move?
