Kira's pov

I shook my head in tears, removed my leg from him and entered the house with my door shut!

"It's hard to forgive you, Daniel." I whispered.

"Mom! Stop crying again. The man has gone?" Rhian questioned and I nodded. Even if he's still at the door.

"He'd made mom cry so much!" My son pouted.

They ran to me and hugged me.

"I love you two so much! Mom's not going to cry again."

"Okay. You're still holding a knife," Rhian laughed and stepped back.

"And the food is about to get burnt" She added and I gasped.

"Oh my!" I quickly got up from the floor and ran to the kitchen.

Fortunately and unfortunately, the food isn't burning that much.

I cooked the lunch and served it.

After that, I helped my kids with their assignments and went back to my room to take some rest.

Laying down on bed, i thought of what happened hours ago.

Daniel holding a knife to his neck, telling me to kill him if I can but forgive him before he die.

Oh what's he doing? He really had gone to that extent of raising a knife to his neck.

Somehow, just somehow, I felt pity for him.

He should suffer a little bit. I really want him to suffer.

'Can't you just forgive him and let him be free? You can be free too" My subconscious spoke and I thought of that.

"Forgive him and let him be free? I'm just going to think of that later. I really still want him to suffer."

'I guess he's suffering more already.'

"That's not suffering" I scoffed.

At night, I slept with my lamp on. These days, I do sleep with my lamp on cause I'm always afraid of darkness.

"Kira, please forgive me."

"Forgive me for what i did to you."

"Fate will keep bringing us together"

I opened my eyes immediately breathing heavily. Panting like I was chased.

Today's dream seems different.

I closed the window behind me and turned off the lamp.

I really need to sleep without light tonight.

Early morning, I woke up, did my usuals and get my kids for school.

I dropped them off and left the school in hurry just as I sighted their teacher coming.

I need to avoid her till I'm able to pay the school fees.

Getting to the office, I sat down and prayed to God not to let Daniel come cause I heard he isn't around yet.

I don't want to face him now or maybe throughout today.

The telephone which was on the table rang and I picked it.

"Yes? Any help?"

"Hmm......Ma'am, Mr. Daniel won't be coming today for some reasons so, he asked you to enter his office and sort out some files on his table."

"Okay, I will do that right away." I responded.

I dropped the telephone back on the table and walked to Daniel's office.

I got to his table, files and books were scattered on the table.

Did he do this on purpose?

I sighed and cleared the table first, and gathered all the files on the table. I opened them one by one, trying to read each and everyone of them.

Wait...I don't even know what to do. What am I supposed to sign?

I decided to take the whole files on the table to my own office and call back the girl who gave me instructions.

"Hello? Can you tell me the files to sort out? Cause I don't know what to do." I pressed my lips.

"Just sign the green and white ones with you." She answered.

"Why my signature? Cause the last time I checked, I ain't the CEO." I frowned.

"I don't know ma'am, but that's what Mr. Daniel said."

"Okay" I ended the call and breathed out.

"Today's going to be stressful." I mumbled and set back.

I scrutinized the files before signing.

Daniel's pov

"Daniel, you haven't eaten since yesterday and you kept screaming like a mad man last night. You couldn't sleep" My dad said.

"Dad, I'm not hungry. I just need a lot of rest. I'm damn tired." I groaned.

I dare not close my eyes cause I'd see Kira again.

"Fine! But you should at least eat something. This is 1:20pm!" My dad snapped and someone else entered.

"Hey bro." My kid sister ran to meet me.

"You aren't going to work today?" She asked.

I shook my head and closed my eyes shut, there I saw a headless girl in a dirty gown which Kira do wear in my dreams, holding an axe in her hand.

I gasped and opened my eyes back.

"Are you okay? You seem worried." Amanda touched my face.

"Dad, I think he has a fever. His body is damn hot" My sister said worriedly.

"Okay, i will call your mom to take care of him. I'm out."

My father walked out of the room and faced Amanda.

"Amy, is it really hard to forgive someone that raped you? In front of his friends." I blurted.

"Jeez! It's really going to be hard. In fact, I can kill that person but I will just make him suffer and forgive him later." She answered with a shrug.

It really going to be hard for Kira to forgive me.

She wants me to suffer before forgiving me?

If that's it, I'm ready to take it. I'm ready to suffer so Kira will forgive me. I really need her forgiveness in my life.

It's so Important.

Mom came in with dad again. She was carrying a tray.

"Son! You need to eat before taking your drugs. After that, you're going to tell us who that P.A of yours is. Hmm.....Kira, that's her name.

Your dad told me you were going crazy whenever you see her. And whenever I saw you sleeping, you keep calling Kira and you ended up shedding tears." My mom stated.

I sat up and collected the bowl of stew she'd stretched to me.

"The girl in my dreams and Kira are the same. She's the one in my dreams. I really hurt that girl, mom. I really do and I'm always wondering if she will still forgive me." I sniffed.

"The Almighty Daniel hurt a girl and he's regretting it." Amanda scoffed.

"I'm not only regretting but I'm suffering for it."

"Wait.....what you said earlier, it has something to do with you and the girl?" My sister asked and I slowly nodded.

"Gosh! You really fucked up bro. I swear." She palmed her face and got up.

"She's in the office now?"

"Yes."

"Good." Amanda got up from the bed and left the room.

"Okay, can you two explain what's happening right now? Who's this girl to you and what has she done or what did you do to her? I really need to see that girl." My mom left the room too.

"Drink the stew and take your drugs." Dad mumbled and walked out of the room.

Amanda! She's heading to the company.

I glanced at the time, it was 1:31pm. I quickly finished the stew and take my drugs.

I carried the plates and walked downstairs to the kitchen.

The car keys were on the dinning table and I grabbed it and headed outside.

"Daniel, you're sick. You shouldn't leave the house." Mom said softly.

"I need to go somewhere." Rushing my words, I hopped into the car and drove out of the compound.

Kira's pov

Just as I was about to sign the last file in my hand, the door opened.

Revealing a lady. I meant a familiar lady.

Wait....isn't this the girl those boys tried to rape the other day?

I got up deliberately as she walked into my office but stopped halfway.

"Wow! It's you?"

"You again?" We said in unison.

We laughed that off. In a swift, she's in front of me and gestured me to sit down.

"I wanna talk to you, Aunty." She blinked innocently.

Daniel's pov

I got to the school and waited to see Ryan and Rhian come out. I can't take them home cause Kira's going to fry me.

Finally, I saw them and waved my hand for them to see me.

I could see the striking resemblance of I and the two kids. I know they are my children but I can't say that now. I can't claim them.

The kids frowned as soon as they got to me.

"You really made my mom cry so much yesterday, Uncle" The boy folded his arms.

"And he was crying too. Begging mom on his knees. Did you hurt my mom so much?" Rhian asked.

I crouched down to their size and nodded.

"That was in the past. And I really want your mom to forgive me. I don't want her to cry again."

I responded.

"You don't want her to cry again? Then make our mommy smile!" Ryan snapped.

"Should we tell you one of the things that make our mommy smile?" Rhian grinned.

"Yes,You can."

"Buy her white flowers!" They chorused.

" It makes her smile so much" Rhian giggled as they ran off.

Kira's pov

I got to the reception and turned around, stopping and sniffing.

"Why do you have to follow me around? Why?

What have I done again?" I shouted.

"Kira, please listen. Let's go inside and talk." He tried to touch me but I jerked his hand off.

'What could he have done to make the lady cry like this?'

'Who knows if he hurt her in the past already'

Everyone began murmuring.

"What do you want to say? Than, kira forgive me for what I did to you. That's all what you're going to say.

And don't think I'm going to forgive you. I'm not!" I yelled.

"Kira, if you go, wha....what about the job? You won't be working here?"

Daniel said and I felt like slapping him.

"I don't care about the job anymore. I don't wanna see your face not to talk of being your P.A. I hate you! I hate you from the bottom of my heart. Monster!!" I sniffed and marched out of the reception.

A hand grabbed me and pulled me.

"What!? Can you just stop all this and leave me alone? I wanna live a peaceful life without you interfering into it." I tried to removed my hand from his hand.

His touch irritates me.

"Kira," Tears run down his cheeks as he stared at me.

Those fake tears!

"I'm sorry for what I did to you. I didn't mean to hurt you. I swear, I didn't. I just did it cause....." He paused, his eyes were interpreting many things I don't understand.

"I was craving for your body and I made a bet that I'm going to sleep with you." He bit his lip.

"But I'm regretting. Kira, I know the reasons why I did that to you was lame. I'm sorry, please forgive me."

I laughed. Oh! An empty laughter.

"Daniel, you really surprised me. You f*cking betrayed the trust I have for you as a friend." I poked him on his chest.

"You were merciless when I begged for mercy. You were cold when I begged you softly.

You were laughing when I begged you crying.

Daniel, you mocked me when I stood up in shame and pain. What if this happen to your sister, what will you do?"

"Kira..........." I cut him off

"Don't say a word. Else, everyone is going here about this. Wait! I should let them know that their new CEO is a rapist."

I scoffed.

"You made me suffer so much. You made me go through hell," I hit him with the bag In my hand.

"Have struggled enough. I thought I'm going to be happy again. Happy forever. But you just suddenly showed up."

He went on his knees immediately, not minding the staffs that was watching.

He got hold of my leg and bursted into fresh tears.

"Forgive me, Kira. Forgive me and I won't come your way again. Fate will keep bringing us back if you don't forgive me."

"Damn fate itself! Fate is so cruel to have bring us again. And me forgiving you, I don't know yet. But I will make you suffer a lot.

You will suffer that you won't be able to bear it. Yes,you won't." I removed my leg from his grip and left the building.

Today was supposed to be one of the happiest day of my life but no, it's the worst day of my life.

I boarded a cab and went home and dropped my bag on the couch.

"Why's my life such a mess? Why can't I just do something without me seeing him? Why?" I cried out.

My phone rang and I took it from my bag. It Emily calling.

"Kira! What did you do in the company today?" Her voice rang out from the phone.

"Emily! Why can't I live peacefully without him? Without me seeing him? He's always the cause of everything."

"Kira," She cooed.

"I don't have anything to say but to accept that job. Yeah, you need to take that job. Just look at your kids. You told me they were so happy cause you got a job.

Do you want them to get sad? You need the money to take care of yourself, your kids and other important things."

"Seriously, you really need that job. So, it's better you go back there and say yes to that job. You can just try to avoid Daniel." She added.

I sighed.

"Today's a bad day. I'll go tomorrow. I just need to cry out my eyes today." I replied.

"Your choice. Just take that job and try to ignore Daniel."

"Thank you, Emily."

"You're welcome. I gotta go"

I just have to take the job.

At noon, I went to take my children at school and we all ate lunch.

"Mom, how's work today?" Rhian asked.

"Work is fine." I feigned a smile.

"You look sad. Did you cry again?" Ryan pouted.

"Of course not! Why will I cry? Don't need to be worried about me." I patted his shoulder.

At night, we all went to our room and slept off.

Next day,

I woke up as usual, i bathed my kids and got them ready for school. I dressed in a blue gown and black shoes.

"Just pray that fool won't cross my path." I muttered.

I dropped my kids off and went straight to company.

I breathed in and out.

"Please, is Mr Walter in the office?" I asked the receptionist.

"No. Only his son."

"Are you not the woman he was chasing yesterday?" She asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Face your business!" I replied, curtly.

"Sorry." She kept quiet.

I walked to the office and knocked on the door.

"Come in" Came a weak-like voice from inside.

It's really Daniel. Why's he just appearing everywhere.

Why can't I do anything without.

"Kira!" He beamed and rushed to meet me but i stopped him halfway.

I don't wanna shed tears In front of him. I wanna make him see that I'm still that weak woman he used to know.

But I just can't help it.

"Daniel......."My voice shook and I swallowed.

"I'm here to take the job your dad gave me. Please, don't think of crossing my path or trying to ask forgive........."

"I know. Your office is beside mine." He answered and tried to touch me but i glared at him.

I marched out of his office and entered the new office he said about.

The telephone rang and I quickly picked it.

"Yes?" I arched my brow.

"Bring Lorena's files to me." Daniel's voice came up.

God!

"Okay." And i quickly ended the call.

I searched for Lorena's files on the table and finally found it.

I took them to him, dropped it on his table and turned to leave.

"Ki..." He tried to call my name but I already left the office in a hurry.

Working for him is really a bad idea though. Working for someone who raped you. But I just have to endure it.

Throughout the day, I avoided Daniel when he tried to talk to me.

We closed by 2pm and I went straight to my children's school since they will be closing by that same 2pm.

I took them home and started cooking lunch.

Then, I heard a knock on the door. That could be Emily.

I hurriedly went to open it and saw the bastard at my door.

"Wha....what are you doing here?" I half yelled.

His eyes gazed down at my hand and I traced it. I was holding a knife.

"Kira," He said and went on his knees again.

"Mummy!! Rhian bit my hand!" Ryan's voice could be heard.

I felt their presence behind me and I turned to them.

"Mom, this is the man who gave us money and ice cream." Ryan chuckled but frowned.

"Why's he kneeling down in front of momma?"

He asked.

"You two should go inside. Your presence isn't needed here." I told the kids.

Daniel looked up to me then the kids and back at me.

He narrowed his gaze at me and asked,

"Are they my children?" He got up and moved close to Rhian and Ryan.

He bent down and hugged them. I bit my lip, trying not to cry.

"Tell your mom to forgive me." He said to them.

"Mom? Did you do any bad thing to her?" Ryan blinked.

"Yes."

"Go inside the two of you." I took them away from Daniel and urged them to go inside.

"Daniel, you have to leave now! Leave or I will do something I'll regret." I stretched the knife to him.

I'm not planning to kill but to just go away from here. How did he even know this place?

Daniel sniffed and held the hand holding the knife and raised it up to his neck.

What's he doing?
