Chapter 7: Chapter 7

I could tell I wasn't in my own room by the manly scent that greeted me when I woke up. While I relived the events before I fell asleep, I kept my eyes closed and felt my surroundings. I momentarily went into shock since I had assumed no one else was nearby when an arm unexpectedly snaked around my waist and a warm breath brushed the side of my neck.

Slowly, it dawned on me. I am at Zachary's place. We're on his bed, sleeping together.

I don't know how to act or think. My brain went blank because of what was happening. I didn't expect this.

Is he still asleep?

That explained why he's acting like this. His body moved unconsciously without knowing that I was the one who was beside him, not Eunice. I almost rolled my eyes in the back of my mind.

I let him while I continued to pretend to be asleep. Besides, I'm still tired, and I could feel pain in my whole body. I won't be surprised if I notice bruises later.

Zachary was a beast in bed. He's always been like that, but I have to admit he's more violent now. It's like he's punishing me even though I didn't do anything wrong.

After a few seconds, I carefully took a deep breath and then opened my eyes. I took a glance at the man beside me. He seemed to be peacefully sleeping, which is why I took that opportunity to get my phone off the bedside table.

A lot of messages popped out on my screen, mostly from my friend Aireen. I opened my camera app instead of looking at that first. I carefully adjusted my position and angled it around my neck, where Zachary was peacefully sleeping. I took a cropped photo of us. Half of my neck and half of his face. I don't know when he dressed me in his clothes, but I'm just thankful that he didn't let me sleep naked.

Though it will be more perfect if I'm naked at this moment.

My lips curled into a smile as I went to my SNS account and started typing a caption with the photo. 'Good morning.' It was just a simple tag line, but I know it's enough to piss someone off.

Feeling satisfied with what I'd done, I put my phone back on the nightstand and closed my eyes again. I don't feel anything toward the man beside me. Sleeping together with him doesn't give me butterflies in my stomach. I am actually disgusted at this moment, but thinking that my plan was going well comforts me somehow.

Because of the exhaustion, I didn't notice that I fell asleep again. I just woke up hearing the doorbell ring one after the other. I kept my eyes closed even though I felt Zachary get up.

"Where is she?" A few moments later, I heard loud footsteps from outside the room.

I even heard Zachary calling the other person until the door to the room harshly opened. I was too lazy to open my eyes; I remained lying down, looking at my sister's crimson face. Her palms are clenched; I felt like she wanted to attack me, but she's just holding back.

I sneered secretly. "Good morning, sister," I greeted hoarsely as I leaned over and hugged the pillow, not caring about her presence.

"You really has a really thick, you fvcking bitch!" she shouted, then quickly approached the bed.

She grabbed the blanket wrapped around me and then threw it somewhere. "Get out!" she instructed.

I let out a grunt then curled up on the bed, still hugging the pillow next to me. "Fifteen more minutes, please. I'm really tired," I faked a beg and closed my eyes.

Even though I couldn't see Eunice, I know that her nose is fuming even more now. I thought she was going to hurt me physically, but Zachary pulled her out first when I peeked at them. I just shrugged my shoulders and comfortably closed my eyes again.

I heard them yelling outside. Eunice kept asking me what I was doing in Zachary's condo unit, but her fiance just asked her why she was here. I couldn't stop myself from grinning.

What a good breakfast, Atasha.

Funny. The asshole and the bitch are fighting. I let out a chuckle and let myself fall asleep. When I woke up, I was greeted by a quiet home. I don't know how Eunice left without bothering me again, but I don't think about it anymore.

I started to get up, then went to Zachary's closet. I chose a shirt and shorts there and then entered his bathroom. I took a quick bath and fixed myself. When I was satisfied, I took my things and left his house with a smile on my face.

"YOU'RE late," Aireen commented when I got home to her apartment.

I just rolled my eyes and sat on the couch. "Caiden didn't try his best to pick me."

She smirked, then continued typing on her laptop. "Well, your plan was even more successful because my stepbrother didn't bring you home," she said.

I just smiled and leaned back on the sofa, shaking my head.

"What? Did she attack you?" Aireen asked; there was amusement in her tone.

"She just barked, didn't bite," I answered, and we laughed together.

"In fairness to your sister's patience and martyrdom, ah? You can erect a statue." She winced at the last words.

I didn't say a word and just laughed. Honestly, I didn't even expect the patience she gave me. Knowing that she got rid of my child without mercy, it was just a small thing for her to hurt me. I clenched my hands when I remembered their sin against me.

I heaved a deep breath. "I'm confused..." I mumbled while crossing my arms.

Aireen's attention was focused on me with one eyebrow raised, waiting for me to continue.

"Everything is going smoothly. I just didn't expect Zachary," I shared. "I mean, something's off with his behavior."

"Don't tell me, Atasha, that you're falling in love with him again." There was a threat in Aireen's tone.

I gave her an eyeroll, then held my stomach. "Jeez! I haven't eaten yet; don't make me vomit right away!" I mumbled.

She just smirked and shook her head as she continued what she was doing. "Well, I'm just checking. Maybe later you'll be just like your stupid sister."

"Oh my God, Aireen. You're thinking too far ahead. I might kill him before that happens," I snorted.

"What do you need? A gun or a knife?" she answered back with a ghostly smile on her lips.

For the nth time, I rolled my eyes at her and stood up from my seat. "There you are. You're demonizing me, huh," I said then walked towards my room.

"Anyway." I stopped walking when I reached the front door and glanced at her. "Put your so-called stepbrother's toys away. God, Aireen! Do you intend to show me your bondage sex?" I pointed to the sofa I was sitting on.

When she looked at it, her face was practically red. If I'm not mistaken, it's a vibrator. It must have slipped into the corner without her noticing that it was set aside.

I smirked.  "Well, it looks like I wasn't the only one who was 'more successful' last night," I said before walking into my room and laughing.
