Chapter 51: Chapter 51
“Are you okay?"
His vocalism is utterly cold. He looks like someone who never smiles, or maybe he is this worried for this bitch. I can’t see through his dark sunglasses, but I can tell he is trying to fix them on Mitch, who is about to blow up with wrath.
She nudges him away, charging closer to us. The man does not let go of her completely; instead, he hooks his hand loosely on her shoulder.
“How dare you insult me in front of my friends, Liam? How dare you insinuate that I am sleeping around?” She screeches, her eyes firing murderous arrows at us.
“And how dare you gather this bunch of disrespectful fools to come and disrespect me in my own home, Mitch? You feel insulted. That is nothing compared to what I am feeling right now. This is disrespect of the highest order, which I will not tolerate." Liam roars, not letting me go.
Mitch buries her head deep into the air. I guess she has nothing to argue about there. This is all her fault.
“For someone who is married, shouldn’t you be shielding your wife right now, and not that thing you called a surrogate?” The man holding Mitch snaps, lifting the sunglasses to his forehead.
He looks completely pissed. I was totally pissed off. Even the way his cold eyes are staring at how Liam is holding me is dreadful enough. Why? What is his business?
“This is my house! Keep the fuck off my affairs! And you,” he snaps Mitch from the sh*t of shame she had been buried in for a long moment. “I think I have heard it from these fools you call your friends. Go do this somewhere else and not here.” Liam states.
“Seriously, man? If you do not want your wife, be a real man and say it straight to her face instead of treating her like this. She does not deserve this.” The man speaks again, nuzzling Mitch’s shoulders.
Somehow, I don’t like this man. The way he is stroking Liam’s demons makes me loathe him even more. What does he know about this marriage to air his unfounded opinions?
“If you open your mouth and talk to me one more time, I will teach you how to fucking mind your own business, son of a bitch!” Liam roars, making me snap at him.
He looks like a fuming beast. He has had it to his core with this fool.
“What did you just call me?” The guy asks, pulling his hand from Mitch and taking a step forward.
Liam tosses me behind him, walking to meet the man. “I presume, aside from being nosy and stupid, you are not deaf, or are you?” Liam says, glaring at the man.
God! This will get physical if...
“That is enough, Joel!” I sneak out of Liam’s back and see Mitch pulling Joel back. “It’s enough. Let us just forget all these and go back to what we were doing.” She says.
Huh? Didn’t she hear what Liam said? They have caused enough havoc. They should get their asses moving and get the hell out of here. The way this Joel is staring at Liam is sickening, though! It is as if he is so mad at him. He wants to strangle him to death. Why? What is his problem with Liam?
“I said you get these fools out of my house, Mitch! I don’t want to see them in my house ever again.” Liam reminds this witch because she seems to have forgotten what he said.
She walks closer, humbled like a rainy cat. “I heard you, but just for a few minutes. Let us just finish the opened bottles,, and then they will leave."
“Seriously, Mitch! You…”
“Come on, Joel!” She turns to Joel behind her and winks at him, as if reminding him of something.
There is something going on here. There is something she has not done yet. And they are all together in this plan of hers.
She turns around to Liam with the same calmness. What is this witch up to now?
“Please, Liam! Just ten minutes, and they will be gone!” She pleads.
Ten minutes. Just what does she want to do with the ten minutes? I align myself with Liam, assessing this witch’s cold face.
“Let them, Liam.” I say, still fixing my eyes on this witch. I need to know what she is up to. We might as well end this game tonight.
Liam looks at me, but after failing to get a change of mind from me, he speaks.
“Ten minutes. If they take even a second longer, I will kick their asses out myself.” Liam warns, and I saw Joel smirk weirdly at that.
The guys have some beef with Liam. He so sucks!
Joel! Joel! Joel!
“You won’t have to result in that.” Mitch sneers, wearing a look that I don’t infer. She turns around. “Alright, guys! We have some nine minutes and will be gone by the tenth. Let’s continue the fun.” she says as she leads the way to where the beers are waiting for them again.
Liam and I slam back to the seats where we were before this saga began. I follow the alcohol gang with my eyes until they park themselves on the couches as if they are so welcome. They start talking about some certain truth or dare shit. I even watch as they start their first spin, and I can’t tell who it stopped at. I am fixing my eyes on this peculiar individual who seems to have a bantam portion of his concentration on the stupid game, some little bit of it in the alcohol that he is sipping in huge quantities, and the greatest part of it on Liam. Even when he is sipping his liquid, his eyes are still glaring at Liam above the glass.
Buzz! Buzz!
I abandon my mission of trying to read the unreadable face of Joel and take my phone out. This is such a mystery! Hard to crack! But I will figure his actions out, hopefully, before this game ends.
