Chapter 41: Chapter 41

“Never! You are dreaming! I might have been noncontributing to this absurdity from the beginning, but now I am astir and so much invested. As your wife, I want you to draw a contract stating that this whore will leave this house and our lives the minute she gives birth.” She states.

Forget how she is gawking at me as if she has already won, or as if this is her pessimum blow to me, but how neurotic can this woman get, huh? How stupid of her to still think she can still order Liam around like her puppet? Doesn’t she know that things changed the minute she allowed Liam to result in this?

“I could have bore it all, but not you denying me a child as my wife. That is where I drew the line, Mitch. You lost all your rights as my wife the minute you preferred another woman to bear me a child rather than you, my supposed wife. I am doing no such thing, and you will stop being delusional and a brat and respect what you righted!” Liam states.

Mitch leans back with a smug look of mockery on her face. “Well, that child carries my genes too. That was more than enough sacrifice given that I did not right that you bring your whore into this.” She states.

“You did not know because you did not give a fuck about me, my desires, or anything. Now bear the consequences of your actions. They are going nowhere!” Liam states, and I think I heard our baby leap with glee at that.

Oops! It still doesn’t know a thing. Too small to move.

“You are damn wrong, Liam. You have disgraced me, humiliated me, and insulted me enough in this house and in front of this bitch! You are making that contract whether you like it or not, Liam! She needs to leave this house after giving birth, and that is final unless you want to evoke a war that you can never win!” She speaks, her sinister tone and stern glare scorching Liam’s face, who, in return, isn't getting intimidated even just a little by her screeching.

“Do your worst, Mitch! Because of war or peace, I will choose them! I am making no fucking contract.” Liam sneers, making his point crystal clear.

Mitch stares at him for a minute, scanning his face like she is poring over an exam. “It was so easy for you to draw a non-conjugal contract for me. Why is it that you cannot draw a simple contract for this bitch? What you wanted was only the damn child. Why does it seem to me that you also want to cling to the mother? Why, Liam? You deny it every time I confront you about it. And now this?” The last part of her irritating statement came out as a question, her face darkening as if daring us to confess.

She never gets tired of trying, even when she knows we will never do that. That makes two devils. She is still annoyingly adamant about revealing what their mission with Liam and his whole family is, so why should we confess our sweet sins to her? Oh, yes! They are extremely saccharine-like, like caramels, and we aren't stopping sin as long as this is what sin tastes like. I am good for being a sinner as far as this is concerned.

“Think all you want. Do what you possibly can. But in all that you do, remember that I don’t give a fuck about you at all, and neither will I allow you to harm my child or Lynn. They are my responsibility, so back the hell off!” Liam warns.

Mitch smirks. A very bitter smirk. The rage she is concealing inside is too crimson to be hidden behind her thin mask of bravery. Her face is flaming red from one ear to the other. Her eyes are emitting nothing but hurt, defeat, fear, and anger—it's a combo of so many assorted feelings that are seemingly tearing her from the inside. Maybe she is getting a sense of the exact place she holds in Liam’s life.

“You know there are consequences, right? You are wiser than this, Liam!” She speaks softly, as if pleading.

“I don’t care anymore, Mitch! I am so ready for whatever is bound to be brought about by this." Liam states, and I must commend whatever is tying his composure today. He is handling himself pretty well.

A moment of shrieking silence! Her glares are strangling Liam. He is not blinking as he challenges her. And I cannot help but feel the glee of her acceptance of defeat. I bet Liam has reached his end point, and she can’t believe that he really said that. She probably thinks it was a bad slip of his tongue. That is why she is glaring at him like this, with absolute muteness, waiting for him to correct his statement. Too bad for her, because not everyone’s tongue is as loose as hers.

After a dradfy eternity of a stare challenge, she shifts her gaze to me, meeting mine. “Enjoy this glee as long as it lasts, bitch, because it won’t be long until I get what I want. I don’t lose, and even if I were to start losing, it most definitely would not be to a cheap nobody like you. I will not allow you to render all my efforts worthless." She fumes, and I smirk.

I must have gotten the composure from Liam and my baby. My bravery seems to have tripled with time.

“Good luck, fellow bitch. That is, if there is anything you can do about all this. I dropped my fears a long time ago! And just to enlighten you, I have more than you will ever have in this life, Mitch. Clearly, you have lost. I would save the energy and do something meaningful with that energy if I were you." I say.

“And what do you think you have?” She asks with deliberate mockery.

“The care from your husband, Mitch, and this baby,” I hug my tiny bump with my arms, a visual perception that she cannot stand; “these two are enough.” I say.

Now that got her to smirk a little, her fears and fury melting for a while.

“I still have it all, bitch!” Her smirk fades at once, and a dark homicidal look replaces it as she bleeds her pride on me. “You may have the care of Liam, but he still remains my legal husband! And that thing in your belly—I am not proud that it is related to me, but it carries my genes. On top of that, I have money and power. You are nothing but mere garbage compared to me!” She squeals.

Your genes are in my child, my foot! You wish! Good thing that wishes are never horses. This is my win and gain alone with the love of my life, Liam. She is not and will never be incorporated into it.

“Money and power, yes! But Liam? In your stupid fantasies, and you know it. I mean, he just told you that a while ago, right? He does not care about you, Mitch! Now that I think of it, maybe I should try and win him over. I mean, he loved me once. What we have is super immense. He is as good as single as we speak, so I don’t see anything wrong with me trying my luck. What do you think, Mitch?” I mock, and her face radiates with fury.

“I dare you to try, and I will kill you and that thing in your belly the minute I catch you, bitch!"

She what? How dare she throw such serious accusations at me?

“By the time you even think of harming them, I will have crippled you already! Don’t even dream about it!” Liam warns, his eyes emitting fire that shuts the mouth of this bitch for a minute.

I told her, right? Liam is all mine. He cares for, loves, and thinks of no one’s safety but me and our baby. She is nothing to him, and the better she understands that, the better for her.

Finally, after battling with her demons, she tours her eyes between us several times as if weighing options to slay us both. Then he speaks. Slow, faint, and coldly “You two, get ready. The dawn is approaching. It’s coming to serve you cold karma. You will curse the day you decided to play this game!”

And with that, she catwalks out of us like a bold, cunning witch who just cast her black magic on us. Liam and I thrust a glance at each other, our minds mulling over her nettling riddles. What the heck did she mean?
