Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Trisya didn't expect that her words the other day in her father's study would boomerang on her like it has now - making her face the Queen of this country.

The Queen invited Trisya to come to the palace. Perhaps if Trisya were any other noble girl, she would have felt very happy and honored. However, unfortunately for Trisya it was not a good thing. Apart from the fact that she already had a mistake that might offend the royal family, Trisya was also not a person who liked chatting with people she didn't know, especially having a very high position like the Queen.

"Ah, Trisya. We finally meet after all this time!" exclaimed a middle-aged woman, making Trisya gape at her appearance.

Just by looking at her once, Trisya immediately knew who had just greeted her. She was the Queen of this country - the one who had invited Trisya to come to the palace this afternoon.

Realizing that she hadn't even said hello, Trisya blinked her eyes. She immediately bowed politely.

"Y- Your Majesty ... good afternoon, Your Majesty the Queen," Trisya greeted trying to be as polite as possible.

The thing was, the person in front of her now was the most respected and beloved person in the country. If Trisya made even the slightest problem, she could receive severe punishment from the royal court.

However, after Trisya tried to remember, it seemed that the novel did not really explain what the queen's character was like. It was also not explained how the relationship between Trisya and the queen was.

This meeting did not exist in the novel she read. Either this meeting did not exist originally, or it was deliberately not told by the author because he thought it was not too important. But it succeeded in making Trisya anxious.

The reason was, she could not guess what the queen would say to her today. But, if she remember her words that seemed to reject the royal arranged marriage a few days ago, Trisya was quite worried if what the queen would say would be unfavorable to her.

"Sit down, Trisya! Ah yeah. The tea we serve is the finest chrysanthemum tea in the palace. Usually only our family drinks it. Even your father and brother who have worked with our family for a long time have never tasted it," explained the queen, which managed to make Trisya's pupils dilate.

"Rr- really? So why is this special tea being served to me, Your Majesty?" asked Trisya.

"Because to me, you are part of this family," replied the queen with a smile.

Trisya swallowed her saliva with difficulty. Had she not heard wrongly? Didn't she see it wrong? Why did it seem like the Queen was so fond of Trisya?

"Your Majesty-"

"I heard that you advised the palace to hold the Crown Princess election without you, Trisya? Is that true?" asked the queen - just as Trisya had expected.

Trisya looked down, then gave a small nod. Truly, she had no intention of insulting the royal family in the slightest. No disrespect, either. Trisya was only focused on saving herself and her family from bad news.

"What's wrong? Why would you suggest such a thing?" The queen's voice sounded sad, as if she was harboring a great disappointment towards Trisya.

Trisya felt completely at fault. She could not possibly explain the truth. However, she was also afraid of lying in front of the queen. If she got caught lying to the queen, wouldn't it be impossible for her to get into trouble? What's more, her brain felt stuck right now. She didn't even have the idea to make up a story.

"Did Terry threaten you, Trisya? Did he force you to say that, honey?"

"Ah ... no. I haven't even talked about this to His Highness the Crown Prince. It was... purely from my own thoughts, Your Highness. But really, I have no intention of demeaning or insulting the royal family. I'm just trying to keep the capital dynamic - the royal family's relationship with the nobles is as good as it should be. And I don't want to be an obstacle to that," Trisya explains. After a long time of thinking, she finally managed to compose the sentences.

The queen did not immediately respond to Trisya's words, making the seventeen-year-old girl start overthinking again.

"Y- Your Majesty, did I say something wrong?" asked Trisya carefully.

Don't let her return from the palace later her organs are not intact because of her words that are considered impolite or so.

"No, you didn't. It's just that, how can we do that, Trisya? How can we select a candidate for the Crown Princess when we don't even have the person we want for the position?" said the queen.

"Pardon?" Trisya felt like she had a hearing problem.

Yes! She must have heard wrong, right? There was no way the queen could have expected that of her. What was so special about Trisya.

"Only you are worthy to be the companion of the leader of this country after me, Trisya. And only you are worthy of giving birth to future leaders of this country in the next generation. We have high hopes for you," explained the queen, making Trisya hold her breath in surprise.

Is it true that in the novel, the queen is this kind to Trisya? Then, where was she when Prince Terry executed Trisya?

Trisya couldn't imagine that the gentle woman in front of her now would one day look at her with disappointment and be involved in the execution of Trisya and her family.

Trisya shook her head strongly. It didn't matter if she lost Prince Terry's love and trust. After all, Prince Terry never cared about Trisya in the first place, right? In fact, it could be said that the dial was the cause of all the bad luck that happened to Trisya in the novel. Trisya went crazy - becoming evil and cruel because of her unrequited love for Prince Terry.

But, the Queen? Trisya couldn't just let go of the woman's sincere concern. Instantly, Trisya was afraid to look at the mass in front of her again.

What if in the end I still can't change this fate? Does that mean I will lose the queen's affection? Will I make her disappointed, then hate me just like the others?' Trisya thought.

"Trisya, are you alright? Are you not feeling well? Should the maid call the palace physician for you?" offered the Queen. Right? The Queen was that kind to Trisya.

"N- no, Your Majesty. I'm fine. It's just I feel inappropriate," Trisya said.

"Inappropriate what?" wondered the queen.

"I- I think I don't deserve this kind of treatment. I mean, about the selection of the Crown Princess. If I can't participate in it, there's no need for the palace to postpone it just for me. I think-"

"You have to join, Trisya. You can rest easy. We will definitely find a way for you to participate in the selection of the crown princess. Even if it's unusual, I've already talked to His Majesty, so that His Majesty will appoint you directly as the Crown Princess. Anyway, we want you to stay here with us, accompanying Terry in the future. Because for now, there is no one we can trust other than the Lovatta family, to help manage the running of this government, as well as the affairs within the palace," explained the queen.

Oh come on, Trisya is only seventeen years old girl here. Shouldn't she be thinking about matters of this magnitude? The future of a country? That's too much for Trisya.

"Trisya, listen to me!" The queen took Trisya's fingers in her grasp, much to the girl's surprise.

"You can do it. We will support you. And as for Terry, sooner or later you will win his heart. Believe me, Trisya. I'm his mother. I certainly know what my son needs."

Trisya bit her inner lip.

'But that's not what I need, Your Majesty. I just want to survive longer to enjoy the wealth of the Lovatta family. In my previous life, I was just a miserable person who died before even having the chance to taste happiness. And now, here I just want to enjoy my life to the fullest - staying as far away as possible from the death written in the novel.'
