Chapter 10: Chapter 10

The last Trisya remembered, she was at a healer's residence accompanied by Prince Terry and his guards. However, because Trisya was injured, shocked and under anesthesia, she fell asleep while the healer was examining her.

Trisya didn't know how long she was asleep. However, she finally started to open her eyes, and was surprised by the presence of her brother - Darian who was right beside her bed.

"Darian? How can you be here?" Trisya was shocked. Wasn't it Prince Terry who brought her here? So, how come Darian was the first one Trisya saw when she opened her eyes.

'Wait a minute! Why should I feel disappointed? Isn't it good that he's no longer here? So I don't have to feel indebted to him. Maybe I just need to apologize once, and everything will be fine,' Trisya thought.

"His Highness the Prince asked you to come here. How are you? Daddy and Mommy don't know that you had an incident like this. But Count Aston, I have informed him so that he can return to his residence in peace," said Darian.

"Ah good. It's better for Mom and Dad not to know. Darian, how about we go home now? It looks like it's getting late," Trisya invited.

"You just woke up, Trisya. Shouldn't we spend the night here? I can send someone to tell Mom and Dad about your situation, and they'll understand."

"No, no, no. Mom and Dad can't know, Bro. If they knew what happened today, they would never allow me to go to the city again. No! Just don't let them know!" said Trisya. She didn't want to lose her freedom, which now felt very expensive.

"That's why, next time don't act carelessly and recklessly. Layla has told everything to me. And I don't condone what you did, Trisya," Darian scolded. After all, she was a future great leader - a potential successor to the Duke someday. So, he had been raised to be a stern man, even if at first glance he might seem a little snippy. Especially when it came to the safety of his younger sibling.

"Sorry. I really didn't know things would get that complicated. But, wait!" Trisya was silent after that. She suddenly became curious about the prince's whereabouts. Was it possible that the man had gone straight back to the palace after accompanying Trisya here for a while? "Where's His Highness, Darian?"

"You mean Prince Terry?" Trisya nodded.

"He hurriedly left after you came. Maybe he had some other business," Darian replied. Trisya nodded her head again. She understood, but there was still something wrong in her heart.

'Why should I think about it? After all, there's no way he's going to get hurt, right? It's not important,' Trisya thought.

However, Trisya seemed to remember the scene in the novel after saving Trisya. The man met Lady Rania, and Trisya heard about it accidentally from the maid who worked for the healer. And at that moment, Trisya was furious due to burning jealousy and made trouble, like a typical antagonist.

"Ah, Darian. So let's go home!" said Trisya.

"I told you, we'll stay overnight first! Let me take care of everything," said Darian.

"You can't. Mom and Dad will get suspicious. It's better for us to go home now. After all, we're going home by carriage, right? I won't be hurt. I can also rest right away when we get home," Trisya urged.

Darian let out a long sigh. In all the years he had lived with Trisya, Darian had memorized his sister's stubbornness. "It's up to you. I'll go out for a while to ask the guards to prepare our carriage and call the healer."

Trisya nodded cheerfully. At least, soon she would get what she wanted - to go home and sleep in her own room. Unfortunately, she failed to go shopping today because of the incident. However, at least there was still tomorrow. Trisya could ask her father for permission to go to the city again sometime, as long as Darian and the others did not report today's incident to the Duke.

Trisya stood up from her bed. She wanted to get ready before her brother came back here. However, just as Trisya was about to open the door to call Layla so that the girl could help her, Trisya accidentally collided with two maids who were carrying some snacks.

"L- Lady... Lady forgive us," said one of them.

Trisya looked down, staring at the part of her dress that was dirty from the food the maids were carrying. It doesn't matter. It was just a little dirty. After all, she would be going home soon and could change, right?

"It's alright. It's no big problem. You guys get up!" said Trisya. She didn't want to make a big deal out of such a trivial matter.

"What's going on?" Darian's voice was heard, along with the steps of several other people. Curious, Trisya immediately turned to the direction of the source of the sound. Layla and several of her other maids were standing behind Darian.

"Oh my, Lady! Is your dress dirty? Did you get hurt?" Layla asked worriedly.

"I'm fine, Layla. So you don't have to worry. When it comes to dirty dresses, they can still be washed," replied Trisya casually.

'Hello! This is just a piece of a normal dress, right? I have a lot more than this. In my closet,' Trisya mused.

"Layla, come help me clean up! We're going home later today. Right, Darian?" Trisya asked Darian.

"Yes. But I'll talk to the healer first, so that he can give you some medicine to speed up your recovery," Darian replied.

After that, Darian left again - leaving Trisya together with Layla and the healer's two maids.

"Lady, we are truly apologize. We didn't mean to. And we didn't know that she would come out of the infirmary. We didn't expect you to hear what we said about His Highness leaving you to see Lady Rania," said one of the healer's maids.

"Yes. We were just saying what we had heard. Please forgive us, Lady!"

"Wait! What exactly are you talking about? Did I seem to be scolding you earlier? No, right?" protested Trisya, when she got a suspicious response.

"Anyway, the Prince wants to meet anyone, it's none of my business. I have nothing to be angry about either. What kind of a prince am I that I should care about his personal life?" annoyed Trisya.

"Lady," Layla rebuked when she heard the unpleasant words from her lady's mouth.

"But- but you bumped into us earlier because you were upset because you heard the news that the Prince-"

"Meeting Lady Rania? Really, that's none of my business. And another thing, I didn't even intentionally bump into you guys earlier," Trisya cut in with a stern tone.

So this is what happened in the novel? Actually at that time Trisya didn't even hear what the maids were saying. But because they let slip, Trisya finally found out and her anger broke out.

Trisya let out a long breath. No matter how far she tried to run from the plot, the plot would still intersect with her life. After all, the antagonist plays a very important role and is the character whose fate is most related to the plot, after the main characters. Yes. It seems like he is destined to look evil in this story, despite his efforts to change that image.

"Wait a minute! So you're accusing Lady Trisya of being at fault for bumping into you?" continued Layla when she realized the meaning of the two maids who sounded like they were cornering Trisya.

"No- no. It's not like that. We're just-"

"Have you forgotten who my lady is? How can you accuse a Duke's daughter of such a thing?" Layla scolded.

"Mercy! Please forgive us, Lady. We really didn't have any bad intentions. We were just... just trying to explain it to Lady Trisya," they retorted.

Layla was ready to continue her tirade again. However, Trisya immediately grabbed her favorite maid's arm. "Layla, never mind, I don't think they mean me any harm. Anyway, let's catch up with Darian!" Trisya interrupted.

"But they just accused you of something nonsense, Lady. I have to explain to them who she is and how they should behave when they are with a noble," Layla explained.

"Layla, why are you such a nag?" wondered Trisya, which made Layla suddenly lose her words.

"Wha- do I sound like that?" wondered Layla.

"Hm. So, calm yourself down, Layla! I'm okay. And I can feel that they really have no ill intentions towards me. So, we should just get out of here. Let's go!" said Trisya. She immediately took Layla's arm and left.

Meanwhile, the two maids seemed to be staring at Trisya and Layla who had gotten further away. "Do you believe when that lady seems to say that she didn't hear what we said before, and also accidentally bumped into us?"

"I don't know. I'm not very good at judging people. But from what I saw earlier, it seems like Lady Trisya is quite nice. So, it's possible that what she said earlier is true."

"You believe that Lady Trisya is no longer interested in the Crown Prince?" his friend was shocked.

"As for that one, I don't believe it. There is no way Lady Trisya can bounce back that quickly from His Highness. Especially after what His Majesty did today. Instead, Lady Trisya must be even more infatuated with His Highness the Crown Prince who helped her and brought her here."

"That's right, isn't it? She must have become very big-headed because she was directly helped by the Crown Prince, then this gossip will be very easy to spread among the public, while the source of the news came at the behest of Lady Trisya herself."

Sometimes, people are too quick to judge things based on their fleeting observations. And that's how Trisya seems to be the bad guy in the story, because her fate is always at odds with the protagonists in the world of this novel, especially, Lady Rania.
