Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Nora pov.

I could not contain my anger as it surged within me. All I wanted was to strike her with such force that she would be compelled to reveal Sierra's whereabouts. The intensity of my fury propelled me to deliver a punishing blow, as if I were transforming into a relentless beast, seeking its prey.

In the midst of my assault, before I could land another punch, Henry swiftly intervened, pulling me away from her. His actions disrupted my momentum, preventing me from unleashing further violence upon her.

"After all she has done for you, after everything she has sacrificed, you still betrayed her and took Sierra captive. I assure you, Alex, I will ensure that you face the consequences," I declared, my voice resonating with a mix of disappointment and anger.

As I prepared to launch another attack, Henry restrained me once more, his grip firm and unyielding. My eyes, already flickering with an otherworldly shade of yellow, indicated my impending transformation into a fearsome wolf. My claws began to emerge, sharp and deadly.

"What are you talking about? Why do you wish to harm me? I am just as shocked about Sierra's disappearance as you are. I swear I have no knowledge of her whereabouts," she pleaded, her voice tinged with genuine surprise and distress. The sadness etched upon her face only fueled my desire to strike her with greater force. The longer I gazed upon her, the more an insidious urge grew within me, urging me to tear her apart.

My anger had consumed me entirely, but in that moment, I reveled in it, relishing the prospect of ending her life then and there.

Just then, Williams stepped forward, positioning himself between her and me. He stood there, his gaze fixated upon me, his expression signaling disapproval, as though I had committed an unforgivable transgression.

"I distinctly recall that you were banned from entering the Lycan Pack. However, considering the widespread concern for Sierra's well-being, I have chosen not to expel you. Nevertheless, I will not tolerate an outsider, belonging to another pack, causing trouble within my territory. Engaging in a physical altercation with the Luna of this pack is an offense I cannot overlook. While I may tolerate your friendship with Sierra, any attempt to harm our Luna will force me to declare the Shadow Claws Pack an enemy of the Lycan Pack," Williams sternly proclaimed.

A chuckle involuntarily escaped me upon hearing his words. The audacity of his attempt to provoke a conflict with the Shadow Claws Pack was both amusing and futile.

"Okay," I say, staring at him with unwavering eyes, devoid of any trace of fear. "If you want to make an enemy, I suggest you proceed, because if Sierra isn't found, you won't just have an enemy to contend with. You'll be facing a full-blown war. And I promise you this, you will deeply regret ever crossing paths with someone like me."

Having uttered those words, I turn and cast a glance at Alex, who remains unfazed, showing no signs of remorse.

"You're fortunate today, Alex. But if anything happens to Sierra, I will ensure you pay a hefty price with your life."

After addressing her in such a manner, I pivot and depart, without sparing another look at any of them. I can't believe he had the audacity to utter those words, even going as far as insulting me.

I can hear Henry's voice trailing behind me, pleading for me to stop. However, just as I'm about to open my car door, he slams it shut, causing me to turn and face him.

"You shouldn't have done that, you know. You could have simply left them alone, and we could have searched for Sierra ourselves. But with what you just did, you're only inviting trouble for both your pack and the lycan pack."

He's right. I am causing trouble, but I can't stand idly by while Sierra is treated as if she's nothing but trash. I didn't even realize I started crying until Henry handed me a tissue to wipe away the tears.

I look at him, realizing he's the only one who has truly cared for Sierra. The thought overwhelms me, and I glance downward for a moment before meeting his gaze again.

"You know, Henry, sometimes I wish you were Sierra's true mate. But now, I just feel immense sadness, because wherever she is, she might be suffering, desperately seeking help."

I wipe the tears that continue to stream down my face, feeling utterly shattered inside, uncertain of what to think or do next. Henry wraps his arms around my shoulders, pulling me closer, and I rest my face on his shoulder, allowing myself to cry into the fabric of his shirt. Why does it have to be Sierra? Why must she face such daunting challenges?

After a lengthy minute of tears, I dry my eyes and gaze at Henry.

"Thank you for never giving up on Sierra. Please help me find her."

He nods, a gentle smile gracing his lips as he clasps my hands.

"I will. Together, we'll find her."

"You don't need to worry; I will make sure I look for Sierra, even if it costs me my life. I promise to do my best in every possible way, and I will not give up until I find her."

I smiled upon hearing his resolute words, and for a fleeting moment, a surge of happiness coursed through me.

"Thank you, Henry, and I will also keep a watchful eye in case she has somehow made her way to the Shadow Claws pack without my knowledge. Please, Henry, let me know when you find her, alright?"

He nodded affirmatively, further lifting my spirits, and I turned to notice Alex and Williams gazing intently at both of us.

"I can't shake the feeling, Henry, that Alex is behind all of this. You need to keep a close eye on her."

Henry, too, directed his attention towards Alex as he responded to me.

"I've been pondering the same thought, and I have a plan. Just trust me; I will uncover her intentions."

I unlocked my car and settled into the driver's seat, with Henry joining me in the adjacent seat. Before I started the engine, I cast one final glance at Alex, who smiled and waved a farewell.

"This isn't over, Alex. You haven't seen the last of me," I thought determinedly as I ignited the engine and drove away.
