Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Sierra pov.

I woke up the next day feeling kind of weak. I stood up and looked around, but could not see Henry.

I stood up, wondering where he could have been. As I got out of bed, I walked out the door and down the stairs, only to see how neat the place was.

I felt amazing, and that was when I saw Henry in the kitchen.

"Morning, Sierra," he said, and I walked over to the kitchen with a smile on my face.

"Morning, Henry. If you don't mind me asking, but what are you doing?" I inquired.

He chuckled and looked at me as if I had asked a question I wasn't supposed to ask.

"Do not tell me you haven't seen a guy cook before."

I laughed when I heard him say that and sat down in the kitchen, watching him cook. I couldn't help but smile.

After about 39 minutes, he was done and he brought the food close to me, placing it in front of me as he sat down.

"So, why don't we eat and get ready for today?" he suggested.

I smiled and nodded as I lifted up the spoon and started digging into the food as fast as possible.

After I was done eating, as I was about to take the plate away, he held my hands, stopping me. He stood up instead and took the plate to the sink.

"You know, you don't need to be overprotective. I can do it myself," I said.

He turned and looked at me, smiling.

"I know, Sierra, but today I just want you to have a lovely day."

I couldn't help but chuckle at his words, seeing how caring he was.

"Okay, sir, if you say so," I replied.

It had already been an hour since Henry and I spent the day in my mom's backyard, laughing and talking. For a moment, all my worries and troubles seemed to fade away as I engaged in conversation with Henry.

His hilarious tricks never failed to make me smile, and deep down, I couldn't help but wish he were my Mate instead.

Amidst our laughter, I would applaud each time he uttered a funny remark. However, our merriment came to an abrupt halt when the gate to my mom's backyard swung open, revealing the figure of Alex.

"What is she doing here?" I pondered, unsure of her intentions and whether she aimed to make my life a living hell once more.

I stood up from my seat, and Henry did the same. Approaching Alex, I noticed her gaze fixed upon me. This time, I was prepared for whatever she had in store.

"Why are you here?" I exclaimed, my voice laden with frustration. She simply chuckled and glanced around the backyard.

"Can't I come to apologize to my friend for the loss of her mother?" she retorted.

Her words only fueled my desire to yank out strands of her hair, but I composed myself, yearning to discover her true motives.

"Sorry, but I have no desire to see you. It's best for you to leave now," I declared, seething with anger as her presence only intensified my resentment.

"Wow, what a surprise! I actually thought you'd be thrilled to see me. I suppose you're not happy after all. Well, please pass on my condolences to your mother when you visit her," she sneered, turning to depart.

Overwhelmed with rage, I impulsively rushed towards her, grabbing her hair from behind.

"What did you just say?" I yelled, the words pouring out of my mouth like venom. As I clenched my fists, my fingers mercilessly entwined in her hair, her pained expression only fueled my twisted satisfaction. It was time to teach her a lesson she would never forget.

Henry, sensing the escalating tension, swiftly rushed towards us. With a firm grasp, he managed to pry me away, his touch a stark reminder of the anger coursing through my veins. Breathing heavily, I prepared myself for another assault, my fury unabated.

"You bitch!" she shrieked, her hands desperately clutching her ravaged hair, her eyes fixed upon me with a mixture of rage and defeat.

A sinister laughter escaped my lips as I beheld the aftermath of my actions. In that fleeting moment, a perverse sense of joy engulfed me, as if I had triumphed over some unseen adversary.

"I don't ever want to see your face again! Get out before I end you!" I roared, my voice laced with an icy coldness that matched the seething hatred within.

Her gaze met mine, her eyes filled with an intensity that spoke of an unfolding game. I couldn't fathom her motives for being here, but I knew she harbored a sinister agenda.

Standing resolute, she stared back at me, her labored breaths filling the air, punctuating the tense silence. A faint chuckle escaped her lips, accompanied by a spray of blood droplets cascading from her mouth.

"You're quite something, Sierra. You could have done this to me from the start, but you were too weak. Now, with the absence of your mother, I wonder how you'll manage to cope," she taunted, her words a twisted symphony of mockery and cruelty.

Rage consumed me, threatening to overflow and consume all reason. But I closed my eyes, attempting to regain control, to find a semblance of composure. As I reopened them, my gaze remained fixed on Alex. I mustered the strength to move forward, but Henry's intervention halted me. With a soft touch, he prevented my reckless advance, his unspoken plea echoing in his eyes.

"It's alright, Henry. I promise I won't do anything foolish," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

He scrutinized me for a moment, his gaze searching for sincerity. Eventually, he nodded, releasing his grip on me. As I approached Alex, an unyielding stare greeted her, laden with contempt. The space between us diminished with each measured step, until our eyes locked in a malevolent gaze. I could feel her breath upon my face, a tangible reminder of the enmity that seethed between us.

"What do you want, Alex?" I demanded, my voice fraught with a mix of curiosity and disdain.

She met my question with a derisive chuckle, her gaze fixed upon me as if I were naught but a loathsome creature.

"Do you truly wish to know what I desire?" she sneered. I nodded, my patience teetering on the edge, awaiting her response.

"I want you eradicated from this world, Sierra. I despise the mere sight of your face."
