Chapter 51: Chapter 51

Sierra pov.

My hands were trembling in fear as I stared at Alex, who lay helpless on the ground. I glanced up at Williams as he approached me, his eyes filled with anger.

"What have you done?" he yelled, causing a wave of terror to course through my body. Suddenly, a chill ran down my spine.

Without wasting a moment, he picked up Alex, and blood dripped from her head as he swiftly carried her out of the room. Just as I was about to follow, he stopped and turned to look at me.

"It's best if you stay here. Don't come out."

My heart raced, and I dreaded the thought of the villagers or anyone else discovering what I had done.

I sat on the bed, my eyes fixated on the spilled food on the floor. Fear consumed me, and I hugged my legs tightly, uncertain of what to do next.

"What have I done?" I whispered to myself, struggling to comprehend the events unfolding before me.

I stood up, my heart pounding in my chest, and began pacing around the room. The weight of the world pressed upon me, and I longed to hide, shielding myself from prying eyes.

As I continued walking, the sound of a gate creaking open reached my ears. I peered out the window and witnessed William placing Alex into his car. He quickly hurried to the driver's seat and drove away.

I yearned to follow, to ensure Alex's safety, but William had explicitly forbidden me from leaving the room.

Lost in my thoughts, a strange mix of confidence and anger surged within me, though I couldn't fathom why.

After what felt like an eternity, the clamor of shouting filled the air outside the castle. I glanced out the window and beheld a sea of people, their voices echoing, urging me to come out.

Fear gripped me, but before I could retreat, one of the individuals caught sight of my face and bellowed:

"There she is."

I watched intently as they all hurriedly ran into the castle, their figures disappearing into its ancient walls. With each pounding beat, my heart began to revive, its rhythm echoing in my chest once again.

Locking the heavy wooden door behind me, I scanned the dimly lit room in search of a sanctuary, a refuge from the impending chaos. Tears cascaded down my face, mingling with my fears, and in that moment, I fervently prayed for William's comforting presence beside me.

Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps drew nearer, reverberating through the silence. Instinctively, I retreated, my body trembling with trepidation, bracing myself for whatever awaited me on the other side.

Then, abruptly, the footsteps ceased, and an ominous swarm of shadows materialized beneath the door. It was a chilling revelation; they were already there, lurking just beyond, patiently awaiting their chance to seize me.

"Open up, or we will forcefully break this door!" their frigid voice bellowed from beyond the door, sending shivers down my spine.

With bated breath, I inched closer to the window, my eyes fixated on the outside world. Just then, the faint sound of an engine caught my attention. Peering out, my gaze fell upon William, resolutely driving towards the castle, and in that fleeting moment, an overwhelming sense of security enveloped me.

I observed him dash into the castle, my heart pleading for his heroic arrival, the one who would deliver me from this nightmare.

Suddenly, a deafening crash reverberated through the entire house as the marauders attempted to breach the door. Yet, I remained frozen, rooted in place, my face contorted with fear.

They struck the door once more, and it crumbled under the force, revealing their countenances seething with anger.

As they menacingly advanced towards me, William stepped forward, positioning himself between them and me. Their progress halted instantly, all eyes now fixated on him.

I met his gaze, recognizing the concern etched in his eyes. Then, with unwavering resolve, he turned to face the encroaching horde.

"By what right do you invade my castle, trespassing upon my domain as you please?" he thundered, his voice commanding their attention, eliciting a fiery response from the enraged crowd.

Suddenly, a man emerged from their midst, his face twisted with fury as he locked eyes with William.

"You are the Lycan Alpha, and that was the reason why we respect you. But do not forget, Alpha, that you were once a beast. Do not let everyone see you as that beast once again. Let us take her. She has committed a lot of crimes, and she needs to be punished."

As the man said that, the crowd yelled, asking for me to be brought to them and be punished. I stepped back, waiting for what Williams would do, trying to know if he would protect me.

Williams didn't say anything as he turned and looked at me. I could see the determination in his eyes, and at that point, my heart started beating faster.

I ran towards him, holding his hands and looking into his eyes, tears already filling mine.

"Please, Alpha, don't let them take me," I begged Williams, as I glanced at the crowd who now looked at me with cold, dead eyes.

I turned and looked at Williams', waiting for a response from him, but all he did was keep silent and not say anything.

Just then, his hands pulled away from mine, and I looked at him, only for him to turn his face away.

"I'm sorry," I heard him say, but I couldn't understand why he said that.

He turned and stared into my eyes as he spoke once again.

"I'm sorry, Sierra. The people here are right. You have committed a sin, and for that, you need to be punished."

I stood there, feeling as if my whole world had paused, and then, before I knew it, the villagers dragged me out, and I kept my eyes on Williams, but he looked away.

I closed my eyes once more as my last tears of sorrow fell, keeping the rest within for the pain that was about to come.
