Chapter 41: Chapter 41
Sierra pov.
As I slowly opened my eyes, I found myself lying on the cold and hard street, surrounded by the bustling crowd of people walking past me. Their curious and judgmental gazes made me feel vulnerable and exposed. I rubbed my tired eyes and tried to recall what had happened to me.
Suddenly, a rush of memories flooded my mind, and my eyes widened in shock and realization. I sprang up from the ground, scanning my surroundings frantically. The sound of my racing heart was almost deafening, and I couldn't understand how I had ended up on the street. My mind raced with questions, and I feared that I had been kidnapped.
With a sense of urgency, I started running back to the castle, my heart pounding in my chest. As I ran, I noticed the distinct smell of the street - a mixture of gasoline, food, and sweat. I could feel the rough texture of the pavement beneath my bare feet, which were sore from the journey.
When I finally arrived at the castle, I saw Williams and Alex outside, and their expressions made my heart sink. William looked angry, and Alex appeared disgusted. I walked over to them, my senses heightened, and I could see the tension in their bodies.
"Where have you been?" William demanded, his voice filled with anger.
Before I could respond, Alex interjected, "I can't believe you left the castle to have sex with low-class men." Her words made me feel confused and ashamed.
As she spoke, she threw a picture at me, which landed on the floor with a thud. I picked it up and looked at it in disbelief. It was a picture of me in bed with a man, but I couldn't remember anything about it.
I looked up at William, and his eyes were filled with fury. Before I could say anything, he grabbed my hands and pulled me close to him, his grip tight and unrelenting.
"After everything I've tried to do to make us come back together, I still can't believe you're doing this," he said, his voice filled with pain and disbelief. He leaned forward, pressing me against the wall, causing me to gasp in pain.
"I loved you, Mate. I was overjoyed when you were chosen to be mine, but now all that love is gone."
He pushed me to the ground, leaving me feeling helpless and confused. My mind was blank, unable to process what was happening.
I looked up at Alex, who stood there with a smile on her face, the same earrings she had asked me to find hanging from her ears.
As William walked away, angry and frustrated, I stood up and walked over to Alex. "What did you do?" I asked, but she simply chuckled and walked away, leaving me standing there alone.
I was still in shock, and I could see the judgment in the servants' eyes as they looked at me. I felt like a whore, and the fear I felt was palpable.
I ran inside the castle, desperate to get away from everything that had just happened. I stumbled into a dark room and sat on the floor, hugging my knees tightly as I tried to make sense of everything that had transpired.
I had been kidnapped and found myself on the street. The question of why kept nagging at me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that Alex was behind it all.
Anger boiled inside me, and I stood up, unable to take it anymore. "I have a life, and no one can mess it up for me," I said to myself, determined to take control of my own destiny.
The room was silent, but I could hear the sound of my own heartbeat pounding in my ears. The scent of dust and decay filled the air, and the rough texture of the cold stone floor scraped against my skin.
It was as if I had been plunged into a dark, unfamiliar world, and I knew that I had to find my way out before it was too late.
I stormed out of the room, my footsteps echoing with each angry stride. The intensity of my rage only grew as I made my way towards the living room, where I suspected Alex would be. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest and my fists clenching tightly, ready to unleash my fury.
As I entered the room, I was immediately struck by the sight of Alex, who was laughing to herself. My anger boiled over, and I bellowed her name, causing her to look up at me with a scowl.
"My name is Alex Lu-"
But I didn't let her finish. I delivered a heavy blow to her face, sending her tumbling to the ground. She gazed up at me in shock, but I was consumed by my fury, and I descended upon her, hitting her again and again.
"Why did you do it?!" I screamed, my blows growing more forceful by the second. She had stolen my life from me, robbed me of my freedom and left me to pay for a crime I never committed.
As I pummeled her, I suddenly noticed William rushing towards me, pulling me away from her. I was about to launch another attack when he grabbed me, causing me to stumble and fall.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" William roared, his eyes blazing with anger. But I didn't care. All I wanted was to hurt Alex, to make her feel the pain that she had inflicted upon me.
"Why can't you trust me for once, William?" I shouted, my voice cracking with emotion. "She's the one causing all of this. Can't you see? She sent me out to look for her stupid earrings, and then she had people kidnap me. And then that picture was taken. I swear I didn't do it!"
But William still didn't believe me.
"How can you be sure?" he asked softly, before his voice rose to a bellow. "How can you prove that she's the one to blame? Haven't you done enough already? I know you're angry that I got her pregnant, but why would you do something like this and blame it on her? Why?!"
I stared at William in disbelief. How could he say such things to me?
"I thought you loved me," I whispered, but he simply turned his back on me.
"Get out," he said, his voice cold and distant. I didn't understand him at first, but then he shouted it again, turning around and pushing me to the ground. "Get out of this castle and never return again!"
I looked up at him, and in that moment, I saw the beast that he truly was.
