Chapter 36: Chapter 36
Sierra pov.
As I caught sight of William standing there, my heart raced with fear. I hastily moved away, my eyes downcast, hoping to avoid any confrontation.
Gradually, I lifted my gaze and saw that William had fixed his eyes on Henry. William strode over to Henry, who stood motionless, unflinching in the face of danger.
"What are you doing here?" William bellowed at Henry, his voice as cold and fierce as a beast's.
I wanted to intervene and explain that what he saw was a mistake, but before I could speak, Henry spoke up.
"Why do you look so angry, William?" he said, completely unfazed by the looming threat.
William glanced at me, and I instinctively recoiled, hiding behind Henry's back, unsure if he would protect me.
I could sense William's rage, his eyes fixed on me, and I felt like I was about to wet myself.
"I showed you mercy by letting you go, and you still have the audacity to come here and flirt with my mate," he snarled.
I looked up at William, my heart aching with sadness. Did he still think of me as his mate? I felt torn, not knowing what to do.
Henry glared at William, his anger boiling over. "Do you still call her your mate?" he roared. "Look at her. You made her life a living hell, and I can't believe you still have the nerve to call her your mate."
As Henry's voice grew louder, I could feel the fury rising in him. I placed my hands on him, trying to calm him down before things got out of hand.
William just stood there, his mind racing and his thoughts spiraling out of control. He was lost in a sea of emotions, unsure of what to say or do next. It was as if his words had deserted him, leaving him stranded in a world of silence.
"Get out," he said slowly, his voice carrying the weight of a thousand storms. The words echoed through the air, thundering like the earth about to shake.
I looked up at Henry, my eyes pleading with him not to leave me. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment.
But Henry was determined. "Let her come with me," he said, his voice steady and unwavering. "She has suffered enough, William. For goodness' sake, have a change of heart. She was the one who set you free. Do not forget that."
William's eyes flicked over to me, and I couldn't help but look away. I knew that I had saved him, but I also knew that it might not be enough to erase the pain and hurt that had come before.
As the three of us stood there, it felt as if we were trapped in an action movie, waiting for the inevitable twist that would change everything.
I looked up at William, trying to gauge his mood from the set of his jaw and the intensity of his gaze. Something wasn't right, I could feel it in my bones.
I tried to pull my hands away from Henry's grip, but he held on tight, not wanting to let me go.
"Henry, let me go," I whispered urgently, my heart pounding in my chest. But he just looked down at me with sad eyes, his grip unyielding.
It was as if we were caught in a moment that would never end, suspended in time and space. The world around us faded away, leaving only the three of us in this small, cramped room.
"Let her go with me, and I promise you will never hear from the two of us ever again," he said with a tone of finality.
William moved closer to Henry, his eyes fixated on the two of us as our hands intertwined. He growled, low and menacing, as if he was about to do something stupid.
I took in the sight of both men, tension thick in the air. The scent of anger and fear mixed together, overpowering my senses. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to diffuse the situation.
"Let go of my mate's hands," William barked, his voice reverberating through the room.
I knew I had to act quickly before something terrible happened. "Please, can you guys just stop?" I yelled, pulling my hands away from Henry and stepping in front of him. I looked into his eyes, silently pleading for him to leave.
"Please, Henry, just go. I don't want you to get into another punishment because of me. Ever since I have come into your life, I have only made it a mess, and I am sorry," I said, tears streaming down my face.
Henry's warm hands cupped my face, wiping away my tears. "You never made my life a mess, Sierra. You have made my life perfect, and I am grateful. Without you, I wouldn't be standing here, looking at a pretty angel like you. Why don't you run away with me, Sierra? I will build a better life for you."
His words were like music to my ears, but at the same time, I didn't want to put his life in any risk. I gently pushed his hands away and stepped back, my heart heavy with the weight of my decision.
"Go away, Henry, please," I pleaded, my voice quivering with fear.
Just as he was about to speak again and move closer to me, William stepped forward and landed a forceful blow to his jaw. The sound of his fist connecting with Henry's face echoed throughout the courtyard.
"She said go away!" William bellowed, his eyes blazing with anger.
I watched, my heart heavy with sadness, as Henry stumbled backwards, clutching his bleeding jaw.
William's grip on my arm tightened as he pulled me away, dragging me back towards the castle hall. The feel of his fingers digging into my flesh was like iron shackles around my wrist, and I cried out for him to release me, but he didn't care.
We continued walking, and the look on his face was one of cold determination. I had no idea where he was taking me until we entered a room I had never seen before. The air was thick with dust and the smell of decay, and I felt a chill run down my spine.
I tried to back away, but William shoved me inside and locked the door behind me. I pounded on the wooden panels, screaming his name, but he was already gone.
I crumpled to the ground, my body racked with sobs, as I buried my head in my hands. The darkness enveloped me like a suffocating shroud, and I shuddered with fear.
"I'm scared of the dark," I whispered, my voice trembling with terror.
