Chapter 33: Chapter 33

Sierra pov.

The news was devastating, Alex had lost her child. The weight of it all felt like it was crushing me into tiny pieces. I felt scared and confused, unsure of what to think or feel.

The doctor left the and Nora and Henry came closer to me. Everything felt like it was turning upside down and I was on the verge of breaking apart any second.

I felt Nora's hand on my shoulder and looked up to see her concerned expression. Tears were streaming down my face, and I knew deep down that everything was my fault.

"Why are you crying?" Nora asked, her voice almost a yell. "You should be happy that she deserves what she got. Instead of celebrating, you're busy crying. Come on, Sierra, most times you need to stop blaming yourself for everything."

Her words hit me like a slap in the face. Was she trying to tell me that none of this was my fault? I stood up, feeling numb as I walked out of the hospital. Just as I was about to open the car door, it shut back and I looked up to see Henry.

"Why are you stressing yourself so much, Sierra?" He asked, but I couldn't bear to look at him.

Despite everything Alex had done to me, I couldn't bear the thought of her losing her child. I placed my hands on my head as a rush of anger flooded through me.

It was all William's fault. He was the one to blame, not me. I closed my eyes, trying to alleviate the pain that was coursing through me.

After a while, I opened my eyes to see Henry and Nora looking at me with concern etched on their faces. The sight of them made me feel a little better, and I knew that with their support, I could get through this tough time.

I turn and walk away from them, going back into the hospital, searching for the direction of Alex's room. The halls seemed to stretch on longer and longer, a labyrinth of sterile walls and the scent of disinfectant filling my nose. The sound of nurses shuffling and beeping machines only adding to the overwhelming atmosphere.

Finally, I arrive at her room and stop at the door, taking a deep breath, feeling my chest heave up and down. I'm scared, uncertain of what I'll find inside. The door creaks as I push it open, and the sound echoes through the quiet room.

As I step inside, my eyes adjust to the dimly lit space. The room smells of antiseptic and tears, the sound of soft sobs coming from the bed. My heart aches as I approach Alex, seeing her crying deeply.

I walk slowly to her side, but as she raises her head and sees me, she becomes angry. "Get out!" she yells, her voice piercing the silence. I'm taken aback, my body freezing at the sound of her outburst.

"Alex, you need to rest," I say softly, trying to calm her down, but she only continues to yell at me, insisting that I leave. With a heavy heart, I turn around, not wanting to make things worse.

As I walk out of the room, my mind races, wondering what will happen next. Alex has lost her baby, and the weight of the situation is almost suffocating. I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of emotions, and my mind is about to explode.

I find myself back on the bench, where I sat before, trying to gather my thoughts. The world around me is a blur, my vision clouded with tears. I feel lost and helpless, unsure of what to do next.

In the end, I give up and let myself fall into a deep slumber, hoping that the world will be a better place when I wake up.

As I slowly awakened from my slumber, I heard a voice calling out my name. Suddenly, I remembered that I was still in the hospital. My eyes shot open and I scanned the room, only to find Henry standing by my side, looking concerned.

I rose to my feet, my heart pounding in my chest. Henry looked at me with a sad expression on his face, and I knew something was wrong.

"Where is Alex?" I asked, my voice shaking.

Henry's face darkened. "Why do you care about her?" he asked, his tone bitter. "When you saved her, she didn't even bother to thank you. She left the EVM and didn't look back. She doesn't deserve your concern."

I looked around the room, my gaze falling on the window. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow across the sky.

"And where is Nora?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Henry sighed, his eyes darting away from me. "She left, Seirra. She didn't want to disturb you. She said she would come visit you tomorrow."

I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. As I tried to stand up, my legs gave way, and I found myself falling. But Henry caught me, holding me steady.

"Let me take you back home, Seirra," he said gently. "You need rest."

I managed a small smile as he guided me towards the car. He helped me into the passenger seat, and I watched as he climbed into the driver's seat. The car's engine roared to life as we pulled out of the hospital parking lot.

As we drove, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. The wind rushed past us, carrying the scent of fresh grass and blooming flowers. I could hear the distant sound of cars honking and people talking in the streets.

"Seirra, you should try to rest in the car," Henry said, breaking the silence. "I'll wake you up when we get home."

But I couldn't bring myself to relax. My mind was racing, and my heart was heavy with worry. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of confusion, struggling to stay afloat.

"Sierra," he called me, but I didn't move, just kept staring at the road. The air smelled of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass, and the distant sound of birds chirping could be heard. I felt a hand on mine, causing me to freak out and look at him.

"Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face. I just nodded, smiling at him.

"The more you look this way, it only makes you ugly. Why don't you forget all that happened, and when I take you back home, you can relax and forget all this ever happened?" he said. His words sounded hopeful, as if he truly believed that everything was going to be alright.

I smiled at him as I turned my eyes back to the road. About thirty minutes later, we pulled up to the castle, and just looking at it made my mind fly out.

I saw William standing outside with a group of people. I could recognize most of them, but there were a few I didn't know. As we got out of the car, I looked confused, seeing all of them standing there, looking at us.

"Henry!" William yelled as he walked over to where we both stood, looking confused. Before I could explain what was happening, William hit Henry on the face, causing him to fall down bleeding.

I stood there, looking shocked at what was happening. Without thinking, I turned William to face me, and with my hands lifted up, I landed him a slap. It was as if time had stopped, and for a moment, everything was quiet. The sound of my hand hitting his cheek echoed in the air, and I could feel the sting in my palm. It was as if I had unleashed a storm, and I didn't know what would happen next.
