Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Sierra pov.

As I lay down, the sound of William and Henry's voices drifted through the air. I listened intently to their conversation, but I hesitated to open my eyes just yet. I wanted to stay cocooned in my own thoughts a little while longer.

After a few moments, the room fell silent, and I heard the faint click of the door locking. Slowly, I rose to my feet, feeling a bit better than I had before.

As I approached the door, I noticed that it was slightly ajar - Henry hadn't locked it properly. I slipped out into the hallway, trying to be as quiet as possible. I decided that it was safest to head to the library and stay there for a while.

Suddenly, a loud voice shattered the quiet, coming from the direction of the kitchen. I recognized it immediately as Alex's, and wondered why she was always so cruel.

Cautiously, I peeked into the kitchen and saw Alex holding a dirty plate, with food remnants still clinging to it. She approached Henry and handed him the plate. Then, without warning, she picked up a nearby glass of water and dumped it over his head.

I was shocked at the sight, and even more surprised. Henry began to get angry and ust as he was about to retaliate, I stepped forward into the kitchen, my voice low and soothing, urging him to calm down.

Henry set the plate down on the floor and walked over to me, holding me close to him. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

I nodded, trying not to let the pain I was feeling show. "I thought I locked the door," he said, looking puzzled. "How did you get out?"

I wanted to laugh and tell him that he hadn't locked it properly, but the pain made it impossible to do so. Instead, I whispered, "You didn't lock it very well."

Alex walked over to us, and I looked up at her with a sense of betrayal. She took my hand, pulling me away from Henry, and as soon as she did, the pain returned, causing me to fall to the ground and cry out in agony.

Henry rushed over to me, lifting me up and placing his hands over my head.

"Are you okay?" I wanted to say yes, but the pain was more than a simple affirmative.

Just then, Henry stood up angrily and, as he was about to walk over to Alex, I grabbed his hands.

"Don't."

He stopped and looked down at me, then back at Alex. He couldn't stop staring at her as if he was about to rip her apart.

He lifted me up and walked me out of the kitchen. I told him to take me to the library; I needed some time to think.

After he had taken me to the library, he sat me down on the floor. As he was about to leave, I held his hands, stopping him in his tracks as I looked up at him.

"Please stay," I whispered to him. He sat down and looked up at me.

"Are you alright? Do you need me to get you anything?"

I smiled as I rested my head on his shoulder, feeling relaxed.

"I'm okay, I don't want anything, just stay here with me, okay?"

I smiled, feeling relaxed. All of a sudden, I just wanted to stay this way and not move an inch. I closed my eyes, trying to relax even more, until I felt a hand on my face.

"How do you feel now, Sierra?" He asked again, his voice smooth and calm as I pulled myself closer to him.

"You know, you don't have to be calm towards her, right? For a lady as brave as you, who stood close to a beast and broke the curse that had been affecting the castle for so long, you shouldn't be a lady who can be messed around with."

I smiled, just listening to him say those words. I knew he was right. I should do everything to get my right back, but what should I do? William doesn't seem to care.

I stood up and stared into his eyes, looking at how lovely they were. Why was I even thinking this way?

"Do you like me, Henry?" I asked him, trying to confirm if what I had heard earlier was true. He didn't waste any time as he looked at me and replied.

"Of course I like you, Sierra. From the first day I saw you, I just had a feeling to like you."

I smiled, just hearing him say that, and I noticed he smiled too. I could hear the sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the breeze. As I looked at Henry, I noticed how his eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and I could feel the warmth of his hand in mine.

Soon, I started to feel better, little by little, and it was all thanks to Henry. I looked at him for a second, trying to figure out what I saw in him that made him special. I moved a bit closer to him as I stared into his eyes before saying, "What makes you like me, Henry?"

He chuckled as I said that, then looked at the floor before meeting my gaze again. "There is nothing different about you that I wouldn't like, Sierra," he smiled as he held my hands in his. "You are special, good, and a very cool person to be with. I just felt bad about what happened, and most of the time, I just wish I could make you happy."

His words made me smile even more, and I moved closer to him, lifting my hands up and placing them on his face. I felt his soft skin on my hands and whispered, "You're also cool to be with, Henry," as I moved my face closer to his i whisper. "And I think I like you too."

After saying those words, we just stared at each other, our eyes not blinking. I moved my face closer, feeling my nose touching his, and before he could say anything, I attacked his lips with mine. It was like fireworks going off in my head, and I felt like I was soaring high up in the sky. Our lips moved together in perfect harmony, and it was as if time had stopped.
