Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Sierra pov.

I woke up to find myself in the beast's room. Looking around, I couldn't see him. I stood up and walked out, searching for the beast, but he was nowhere to be seen. I sat back down, lost in thought, wondering where he might have gone.

As I walked towards the kitchen, my senses were awakened. The sight of the different kinds of breakfast waiting to be eaten made me smile. The smell of freshly baked bread and brewed coffee filled the air. I sat down at the table, took the spoon and started eating. The food was so delicious that I didn't realize how hungry I was. I silently thanked whoever creature that made this.

After I finished eating, I noticed a note placed on the table. I walked over to it and picked it up. It was sent by the fox, hoping that I enjoyed the meal.

Later, I took a bath and did whatever I needed to do, but the beast was still nowhere to be seen. I sat by the stairs, lost in thought, trying to think of where he might have gone.

"Have the men come to take him? No, it can't be. He killed them."

I started feeling worried and anxious. It was like I had lost something precious. The silence was deafening, and I felt as if I was lost in a maze. But, I knew that I had to keep searching for the beast, no matter what.

I stood up and walked around the house, shouting his name, but all I got was silence. I felt scared, unsure of what to do or who to ask for help.

Looking around for what felt like an eternity, I finally gave up and sat on the couch, closing my eyes and feeling weak.

"Maybe he might have gone out," I thought to myself, feeling a bit more relaxed. But suddenly, an image of his driver popped into my mind. I almost forgot he had a driver.

I rushed outside and looked around, but there was no driver in sight. "Come on, why does it have to be so lonely," I whispered, feeling bored and frustrated.

Looking up at the sky, I could still see the shining sun, its brightness almost blinding. I sat down on the ground, feeling as if this was all a nightmare, waiting for me to wake up.

As I sat there for what felt like hours, I decided to walk back inside and headed straight to the library to read some books. However, I felt disturbed as a feeling of wrongness crept up on me.

Looking around, everywhere was so silent, it felt as if we were living in a cemetery trying to get out.

Standing up, I walked out of the library, feeling as if I had been there for too long. The feeling of finding the beast was still bothering me, and I yelled out to him one more time. But still, there was only silence.

I took out my phone and dialed Alex's number, praying for her to pick up. After what seemed like an eternity, she finally answered and I could hear her voice through the phone.

"Hello," I said, waiting for her reply.

"Oh my God, Sierra, you're alive! I thought you might have been dead," she said with a sob in her voice.

I rolled my eyes, not ready for a heartfelt conversation right now. "Alex, I need your help," I interrupted.

"My help?" she asked, and I nodded, even though she couldn't see me.

"Are you trying to escape? I can go get help from the nearby pack and plead with them to come save you," she offered.

I could hear the concern in her voice, but I needed her to focus. "Alex, I need you and Nora to come here, please. I can't find the beast, and I think something is wrong."

After I said that, there was a silence, and before I could speak, I heard her voice again.

"Are you insane? You have the opportunity to get away from there, and you're trying to trap both of us with you? No way! I am not going to come there and get killed."

As I listened to her words, I couldn't help but feel like a wounded animal, backed into a corner with nowhere to go.

As I heard her voice, I knew she was scared. But I needed help. If I was going to find the beast, I had to act fast.

"Please, Alex, I promise nothing bad will happen. Just trust me," I said urgently.

After a moment of silence, she held her breath and spoke.

"Okay, fine, but I swear if anything fucking happens to me, I will definitely kill you," she said.

I smiled and nodded. "Okay, you can do whatever you want," I replied, ending the call. I suddenly felt relieved knowing my friends were coming to help, but I still couldn't understand where the beast had gone.

I kept moving around, trying to look for any clues. As I walked back over to the big door, I opened it and saw most of the creatures asleep. I took a deep breath and whispered to myself, "Come on, Sierra, think." I shut the door back as I walked out, going back to the beast's room, but yet, I still couldn't find him.

"If the beast isn't anywhere near the castle, then where could he have gone?" I pondered aloud.

I stood up and was about to walk back to my room when my phone rang. I picked it up and placed it to my ear, hearing Alex's voice. "We are in front of the gate," she said.

I smiled and ran over to them, seeing them standing by the gate, waiting for me. My friends were here to help me, and no matter what, I was determined to find out where the beast was.

As I looked at my friends, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. They were like a beacon of light in the darkness, a source of comfort and support that I desperately needed. It was as if they were my lifeline, the one thing that kept me grounded and sane in a world that had gone completely mad.

In that moment, I realized that my friends were my metaphorical rock, the one thing that kept me from being swept away by the stormy seas of life. With their help, I knew that I could conquer anything, even a beast that seemed impossible to find.
