Chapter 13: Chapter 13
Sierra pov.
I felt scared about what I had just done. Would they kill him?
Placing my hands over my face, I walked up from the couch, tears streaming down my face. As I ran up to my room upstairs, I could hear my mom's voice calling out to me.
I shut my door, not wanting anyone to come see me. I felt so down, regretting what I had just done. "Will they kill him?"
I stood up and walked over to my closet, taking out one of my jackets and putting it on. Then I ran out of my room and down the stairs.
I watched as my mom looked at me with worry in her eyes, walking over to me and trying to calm me down. But I held my hands up to her, stopping her. "I need to go stop them, mom," I told her as I started heading towards the door.
"Sierra, don't!" my mom yelled, but I just left without looking back at her.
As I ran towards the forest, I felt my heart beating fast, praying I wasn't too late. I could hear the yells of the angry people from far away as I ran faster, trying to make sure I wasn't too late.
As I came in front of the beast's castle, I saw a group of people who were trying to break down the huge gate, asking for the beast to come out.
The sight of the angry mob made my heart sink, and the smell of smoke filled the air. I could hear the sound of people shouting and yelling, and the touch of fear gripped me tightly. It was as if the world had turned into chaos, and I was standing in the middle of it all.
But I couldn't let them hurt the beast. He was innocent, and he didn't deserve to die. It was as if I was his only hope, and I had to act fast.
I rushed towards the gate, pushing through the crowd of people, who were surprised to see me. I knew I had to act quickly, so I started speaking, my words like a metaphorical sword.
"Stop!" I yelled, my voice echoing through the air. "He's innocent! He didn't do anything wrong!"
The people stared at me in shock, their expressions turning from anger to confusion. I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the situation on my shoulders.
"I know it's hard to believe," I continued, "but the beast isn't a monster. He's a kind and gentle soul who's been cursed by the Goddess.
As I yelled, a loud yell could be heard from inside the castle, causing the people to stare in fear. I watched as they gazed up, and I saw the beast emerge from his castle and start walking towards us. The men around me were freaking out, but I stood still, unable to look away from the creature's approach. I could sense the sadness in his eyes as he looked at me.
Suddenly, as I tried to walk towards the beast, two of the men held me back, preventing me from getting any closer. I struggled to break free, but it was no use. Then, the beast growled and charged at us. Everyone backed away, terrified. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, and we all froze. I looked over to see one of the men holding a gun, looking just as scared as the rest of us.
"No!" I screamed as I ran towards the gate and opened it with force. I raced towards the beast, who was now lying on the ground, blood pouring from his stomach. I knelt down beside him, tears streaming down my face.
"No," I whispered as I stood up and looked at the man holding the gun.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Why did you do that?" I yelled at him, my eyes now bright blue.
Just as I was getting close to him, I was pushed onto the floor by the other men. As I looked up, I saw him staring at me with anger in his eyes.
"You should be grateful, girl. If not, you will end up dead like the others. Go back home now and stay there," he warned me.
Hearing the man's words, I growled out loud as I stood up and started walking towards him. However, the man with the gun pointed it towards me, causing me to freeze.
"I will kill you, girl, if you don't behave," he threatened me as I turned and saw the gun pointing towards me.
"Will you shoot, too?" I asked him, but he remained silent.
After a few moments of standing there, not doing anything, I didn't know what to do. I was scared. If I did something stupid, I would end up getting killed, but if I didn't do anything, the beast would die.
I looked at everyone, all the men who stood there, looking at me. Before I could say something to the man who pointed the gun towards me, I saw a hand coming out from his chest. The hand pulled away, causing him to fall to the floor dead, with his eyes open.
Everyone looked shocked as we all looked up, only to see the beast standing there, looking angrily at them.
"One of the curses put on me is that I can't die," he said as he started attacking the men.
I stood there, not knowing what to do. It was as if I was in one of those horror movies where people get killed by a monster in front of you, and you just stand there, not knowing what to do.
The sight of the beast attacking the men was terrifying. The sound of their screams filled the air. The smell of blood was overwhelming. I could feel the fear in my heart, pounding like a drum.
After a while, I look around me, seeing all the men dead in front of my eyes. The sight was gruesome, with blood pooling around the corpses. I could smell the iron tang of blood mixed with the stench of death. The silence was deafening, except for the sound of my own heartbeat pounding in my ears.
As I look up, I see a beast walking towards me with his hands covered in blood. I moved back in terror, unsure of what he would do next. Will he kill me too, I wonder? I'm frozen in place, unable to move.
As he approaches me, my heart races faster. He lifts his hands up and places them on my face, and I feel the warm, sticky blood of the dead men on my skin. I'm paralyzed with fear, not knowing what his intentions are.
"Mate," he whispers softly, and I look up at him, still unsure of what to do or say. I want to run away, but I feel trapped just looking at him. He pulls me closer and hugs me, and I can feel the tension slowly dissipating.
"I'm so sorry I scared you yesterday. Can you forgive me?" he asks, and I'm torn between my fear and the guilt I can see in his eyes. We stand there, staring at each other, unsure of what the next move should be.
