Chapter 623: Chapter 623
[Congratulations to the Mythical beastmaster, Pedestrian A, for clearing the final secret realm of Limitless City by defeating the Supreme Divine Dragons and becoming the Master of Limitless City.]
This was a truly unique announcement. Not only did it resound throughout Limitless City, it also rang across Blue Planet and the Stellar Moon World.
When everyone heard the announcement, they felt as if they were in a dream, and their faces filled with disbelief.
The final secret realm? What is that?
Nobody even knew that such a thing existed. The only thing that people were familiar with was the concept of the Supreme Divine Dragons.
Apparently, they were the legendary beings that created the Stellar Moon World and single-handedly ended the Elemental Era. Yet, such mythical beings were defeated by Lu Ran?
People found it downright outrageous. The second half of the announcement about him becoming the Master of Limitless City was even more absurd. Did this mean what they thought it meant?
"The Black Mist has dissipated."
In the Stellar Moon World, the Flower God, Tree Monarch, and other members of the Divine Tree lineage, along with the Divine Dragon kins, watched as the black fog receded while listening to the echoing message. Lu Ran had succeeded.
Back on Blue Planet, Manager Ying, Dr. Gu, and the others also breathed a sigh of relief.
"Great! I knew that kid could do it, but the reward for the final secret realm is too much. Master of Limitless City?" Manager Ying muttered as it stared at the skies.
Special abilities were unfair enough, but becoming the Master of Limitless City was on an entirely different level. How were the other beastmasters supposed to survive? Without Limitless City keeping him in check, there really was no one capable of stopping him anymore.
At this moment, the most bewildered people were the two figures that appeared on the Other Shore’s island.
They were Lu Ran’s parents.
The middle-aged man and woman wore gray exploration outfits. The man was handsome and dashing, while the woman was beautiful and mature. Genetics clearly played a big role in Lu Ran’s good looks.
Due to Lu Ran's unique identity, Limitless City did not put them in a resurrection trial. They weren’t to be resurrected until Lu Ran cleared the final secret realm and once again became the Keeper of the Universe.
Their most recent memory was of their deaths during their last ascension realm. As they blankly took in their surroundings, a voice suddenly sounded from behind them.
Lu Yunxiu and Lu Qiancheng turned in unison to see Lu Ran, who had returned to Blue Planet.
"You're... Little Ran?" The couple looked incredulous. They still remembered him as a young child.
"I thought we died..."
"What's going on now...?"
"It's me," Lu Ran assured them.
Although she didn't know what was going on, Lu Yunxiu's eyes immediately welled up when she saw Lu Ran’s smile. She ran over and hugged him tightly.
When she was dying, all she could think about was never seeing her son again. Not far away, Lu Ran's father opened his mouth slightly, but ultimately didn’t say anything.
He had already deduced from Lu Ran's age discrepancy that they had likely been dead for a long time. Their resurrection most likely had something to do with him.
After a long moment, Lu Ran wiped away his mother's tears. His own emotions were also in turmoil.
"It's okay. I heard about you from the vampire. Since you died in Limitless City, I was able to use its powers to bring you back. Oh, I'm also a beastmaster now.”
"Good!" Lu Yunxiu happily looked at Lu Ran. "I’m proud of you. You grew up in the blink of an eye! You are what, 25 now? Are you married?"
"Alright, honey. That’s not what’s important right now." Lu Ran's father finally stepped forward.
"Why isn't it important?" Lu Yunxiu glared at him.
Before she died, Lu Ran’s growth was her biggest concern.
"Seeing that my son is doing well is enough for me. If I'm not mistaken, this is the Other Shore’s island. I don't know how you resurrected us, but the contents of the letter we left for you... have they been resolved?"
"Yes," Lu Ran said. "The minor issues involving the Other Shore were resolved a long time ago. Did you hear that announcement earlier?"
"What announcement?" The couple was confused.
Lu Ran snapped his fingers and ordered Limitless City to repeat the announcement.
[Congratulations to the Mythical beastmaster, Pedestrian A, for clearing the final secret realm of Limitless City by defeating the Supreme Divine Dragons and becoming the Master of Limitless City.]
His parents were shocked.
"I am Pedestrian A," Lu Ran said with a shy smile. "I hope I didn't let you down. A few years after being chosen to become a beastmaster, I finally conquered Limitless City."
Was this how we were resurrected? It wasn’t the effect of some item?
Blue Planet and the Stellar Moon World simultaneously erupted in chaos. After becoming the Keeper of the Universe, Lu Ran didn’t stop after resurrecting his parents. Numerous people found themselves alive again.
On Stellar Moon, the Divine Phoenix reappeared with the other Divine Dragon kin that fell. There was also Six-Path Flower’s close companion, the Void Grass.
Lu Ran resurrected everything and everyone he could think of. Although he didn't have the power to reshape the universe yet, bringing back a few lives wasn’t even enough for him to break a sweat.
Lu Ran also released the Crimson Earl, who was toiling away on the Other Shore’s island. After finding out that it once saved his life, Lu Ran decided to return it to its family and intended to let it retire comfortably.
While all of this was happening, #18 made a little documentary to get Lu Ran's parents caught up with everything he had been through since they were gone. From starting as the strongest fourth-generation beastmaster of Blue Planet, to becoming the Dragon Chef, pioneering the Overlord Era, getting crowned MVP at the World War, and ascending as the king of Stellar Moon. Lu Ran's world-shattering achievements left his parents breathless.
As for the world resetting, Lu Ran decided not to tell anyone and let that timeline eventually become forgotten. He gazed at the sky, thinking that perhaps this was everything that he had been chasing after. Suddenly, the stars and moon dimmed.
"Meow! Are your parents resting?"
A day after Lu Ran reunited with his parents, Manager Ying finally showed up, no longer able to hold back its curiosity.
"Yes." Lu Ran nodded. "Send them back to the Green Sea tomorrow."
"So what exactly is the Black Mist, and how did you become the Master of Limitless City after clearing the final secret realm? Also, what happened to the Divine Dragons? Oh, and what about me?"
Lu Ran looked a bit embarrassed.
"Actually, I was planning to keep this a secret, but your situation is a bit special, so you’ll be the only one I tell."
He went on to tell Manager Ying everything he learned from Limitless City, including the reason behind its reincarnation. Manager Ying's mouth dropped open as its eyes went wide.
"That's right. I'm actually the one who got reincarnated. I didn’t travel back through the time tunnel. Instead, I rewound time for this entire region of space. As for you, I sacrificed a clone to bring you along with me."
After a long pause, Manager Ying let out a meow instead of a long string of profanity.
"No wonder you're the illegitimate child of Limitless City. You were the man behind the curtain this whole time. This is ridiculous!" Manager Ying raged.
"Ahem. Isn't this great? You don’t have to work for the Time Dragon anymore. Do you want me to send you back?"
"No! You said that the Time Dragon is imprisoned in Limitless City as a power source?"
"Then let's leave it there."
Manager Ying felt that going back to working for it was out of the question. The Time Dragon probably couldn’t even outrank its current position. It was now working for Master Lu Ran, the Keeper of the Universe.
"So, what’s your next move?" Manager Ying asked.
"I’ll rest for a few years and then fulfill my duties as the Keeper of the Universe. With the power of Limitless City, I’ll teleport to another universe and have my familiars ascend to the Cosmic Rank. Once that happens, I’ll use their power to reshape the universe."
"Okay, I'll go with you then," Manager Ying said. "I would love a chance to explore other universes."
"Of course, but you're too weak right now."
"You're the Keeper of the Universe. Can’t you just snap your fingers and make me stronger?"
"Alright, fine. I'll give you one of the best resources I have right now."
"Really?" Manager Ying's eyes lit up.
As he spoke, Lu Ran opened a panel.
Out of habit, Lu Ran kept the interface for his Keeper of the Universe powers formatted like a game.
Things like amplification cards were actually manifestations of the Cosmic Will that increased the quality of other resources. His new identity gave him much greater authority than before.
Things like Legendary and Primary-Divine amplification cards popped into existence, so he didn’t need any crystal coins to trade for them. The issue was that creating them used up the energy of the universe and couldn’t be squandered thoughtlessly. The current universe was in tatters, so Lu Ran wouldn’t be able to run free until it was restored. Follow current novᴇls on novel•fire.net
Besides the amplification cards, there was another resource that surprised Lu Ran. It was something that could guarantee a Legendary familiar's ascension to Primary Divine!
