Chapter 462: Chapter 462

“You little brat, is this how you’re going about this?”

At first, Squirrel God was puzzled.

Why is Lu Ran suddenly so kind, offering to help me find a messenger?

The other kin were working hard through Limitless City to uncover clues about the missing Four Divine Dragons. If it did nothing, it would be awkward when the dragons were eventually found.

Currently, Squirrel God’s clone was bound to this cross-world teleportation array like an earthbound spirit, unable to search on its own. So, when Lu Ran made the suggestion, it immediately agreed. However, Squirrel God never expected Lu Ran to reveal his true intentions so quickly.

“Ah... Isn’t this just a small matter for you?”

Squirrel God stared intently. “Why are you looking for that Void guy?”

“I heard it’s incredibly powerful, so I wanted to see if I could learn a move or two. Lord Divine Deer took Bai Lu away for training, leaving me all alone with no one to guide me. So, the Divine Deer suggested I seek out the Void God, saying it’s formidable. However, since the Divine Deer isn’t familiar with the Void God, it asked me to come to you for an introduction.

“Still, I felt bad just asking for your help, so I wanted to do something for you in return. I might not be able to defeat the Space Demon God, but I can probably manage to find you a messenger in the outside world.”

Squirrel God fell into deep thought.

“This doesn’t sound like the Divine Deer I remember. It would never actively encourage its messengers to seek training from other kin. Something’s off.”

Lu Ran said, “The times have changed. With the spiritual energy revival, the Evil God’s seal has loosened, the Elemental Gods’ seals are weakening, and the Space Demon God’s seal is probably starting to fade too.

“Power is what matters most now. It’s only natural for the Divine Deer to adapt. If you don’t believe me, you can ask yourself later. As its messenger, I wouldn’t dare fabricate lies in its name.”

Squirrel God sighed. “Fair enough. Yes, times have changed. If the Space Demon God breaks free, who knows what will happen? My true form might regain freedom, but whether the Space Demon God will repent or harbor hatred is impossible to predict. Ah, fine. I’ll write you a letter of introduction, but I can’t guarantee you’ll learn anything from it.”

“Great! Thank you, Squirrel God!” Lu Ran beamed.

Success! It was such a simple task. Why did Bai Lu think it was so difficult?

“The three kin of the Space Divine Dragon are the God of Expansion, the Void God, and me, the God of Sealing. The God of Expansion was responsible for exploring habitable spaces beyond the Stellar Moon World, seeking resources to prevent future scarcity and potential destruction.

“Unfortunately, my old friend met an unknown disaster during its mission and died. To this day, we don’t know if it fell to cosmic hazards or unknown lifeforms. My duty is to seal any powerful beings that disrupt order within the Stellar Moon World.

“As for the Void God, it’s the strongest among us. Within the void exist many spatial creatures not native to our world. These beings, known as void beasts, include some that feed on the barriers of our space. The Void God’s role is to slaughter those who refuse to heed warnings in the Void Battlefield.

“Years of battle have turned it into something of a combat maniac. If you want its recognition, just my and the Divine Deer’s introductions might not be enough. You’ll likely need to prove your worth. Knowing the Void God, that’s how it’ll be.”

“I understand.” Lu Ran’s expression turned serious.

Combat was perhaps the simplest way to earn recognition. Abstract standards like love for the Stellar Moon World or determination to protect it would’ve given him a headache.

Soon, Lu Ran headed for the Divine Turtle’s location. With Squirrel God’s letter of introduction and the coordinates to the Divine Void Court, Lu Ran had secured half the opportunity for Captain Doofus. The other half would depend on future developments.

However, before seeking out the Divine Void Court, Lu Ran’s top priority was finding the Divine Turtle to check if it had finished diluting and purifying the dragon god’s blood.

Above the sea of clouds, a floating sky castle moved at incredible speed. As Lu Ran stood on the observation deck, he watched the scenery blur past, feeling that this thing was far quicker than the Kunpeng transformation. Truly, ancient divine beasts were things of the past. Technology was the future.

In no time, they hovered above Turtle Island. After recalling Baby Cloud into the contract card, Lu Ran leaped from the sky, landing with a thunderous crash that left a massive crater in the ground.

Dust billowed as Lu Ran brushed himself off. “Divine Turtle, time’s up. We’re back. Is the dragon god’s blood ready?”

At his words, the huge turtle stirred, as if roused from a brief nap. “Oh, you’re back. It’s done. The dragon god’s blood you brought has been diluted into ten portions. It’s still risky, but further dilution would weaken the effects. Sudden Death King can fuse with these portions one by one. Just one should be enough to alter its bloodline, allowing it to evolve into a quasi-Legendary species.

“Fusing with two portions would further transform its bloodline, granting it the potential of a Legendary Dragon. Additionally, while I purified the blood of its will and elemental impurities, I also infused it with stronger vitality. Sudden Death King’s regenerative abilities will improve significantly after absorption.

“The more portions it fuses with, the greater its chances of breaking through to Low Legendary in the future. This is about unlocking potential. But it all depends on its willpower. By the way, did you train its will and physique like I asked?”

A contract card spun beside Lu Ran, and with a flash of light, Sudden Death King appeared.

After returning to the island it had longed for, Sudden Death King was ecstatic. It showed off its shield with vigor.

Meanwhile, the Divine Turtle inspected its physique. Sudden Death King had always been robust. Although it was previously an Intermediate Overlord, the Divine Turtle reckoned even a Superior Overlord’s attacks wouldn’t faze it.

Despite being a dragon, it had trained itself to be as tough as a turtle shell. However, such extreme defense had its limits. Without a species upgrade, further improvements would be hard.

Suddenly, the Divine Turtle gasped in disbelief. “W-wait! Its physique... What’s going on?”

Now, staring at Sudden Death King, the Divine Turtle felt as if it was looking at an unfathomable star that gave the illusion that even its own attacks would barely scratch this creature.

“Such potent vitality! Such absurdly tough scales! And why does that shield it’s holding look so punchable? What did you do to it this time? With its current defense, even a quasi-Legendary of the same level would only deal normal damage. Below Legendary, unless they use mental or soul attacks, creatures that use physical or elemental attacks would barely tickle it!”

Lu Ran smiled at the Divine Turtle’s astonishment. “Yep. We prepared thoroughly. We did things like cooking an Epic-tier dish using Legendary Rock-attribute blood, modifying its physique into that of a star, feeding it dozens of Treasure-grade meteorite fragments split from a Legendary meteorite, and even enhancing its bloodline and physique with Epic liquor related to a Legendary god.

“On top of that, it’s been tempering its body through energy compression, and I’ve been using the Divine Phoenix’s Legendary flames to heal it repeatedly, forging it like a piece of refined ore.

“Oh, and there’s the shield kin known for defense that I got for it to amplify its defensive physique. Since it was born from extraterrestrial Star Iron and Sudden Death King’s scales, it shares a bloodline connection, allowing both it and Sudden Death King to undergo qualitative changes. Basically, we did a lot. The question is, with all this preparation, how many portions of that dragon god’s blood can it absorb...”

The Divine Turtle’s jaw dropped. “Holy shit. You’re just absorbing diluted blood from the Chaos Dragon God, not its reverse-scale blood! This is too much preparation!”

“Roar!” The King of Sudden Death bellowed.

If thorough preparation could be done in advance, why not? It had no intention of dying during the absorption.

“Die, die! Die, die!”

Little Circle, the shield, was equally confident.

The Divine Turtle’s lips twitched uncontrollably. It admitted it had underestimated this beastmaster and his familiar. Originally, the Divine Turtle thought diluting the dragon god’s blood for fusion was cautious enough. However, Sudden Death King and Lu Ran were even more meticulous, treating this as if they were preparing for reverse-scale blood fusion.

“My worries were unnecessary. Given its current physique, there shouldn’t be any life-threatening risks. Physically, it can definitely handle at least one portion. The upper limit depends on its performance.”

Lu Ran grinned. “Really? As I expected. So, to add a bit of challenge, I brought this.”

He pulled out the Bloodline Dominance Trait Crystal.

“This is the Bloodline Dominance Trait Crystal, a product of Limitless City. A familiar fused with this trait gains doubled effects when merging with other bloodlines, allowing better integration and mastery of bloodline power!

“The boost from the dragon god’s blood will already be immense. Doubling it with this trait will be a real test. However, if successful, the benefits will be unimaginable. Ten portions of dragon god’s blood will effectively become twenty.’

The Divine Turtle stared blankly at Lu Ran and Sudden Death King.

Damn lunatics. They’re not satisfied with the dragon god’s blood’s effects, so they wanted to double them? Then what was the point of all my dilution efforts?

The Divine Turtle said, “Fine, fine. Play it your way. Let’s see what it evolves into.”

With that, ten golden droplets of blood floated up around the island, each radiating immense power. It was as if a single drop could crush any Overlord. Sudden Death King became serious upon seeing this.

“Enough talk. Are you ready? Let’s begin!”
