Chapter 95: Chapter 95
Yu Man brushed her hair aside, yawning.
Having just purified the spiritual sea for over ten people at the base this morning, she had expended quite a bit of spiritual power again and was a bit tired.
Yu Man glanced to the rear out of the corner of her eye.
She wondered if she was getting old, were the younger male beastmen really this energetic?
Yu Man opened the screen outside the small living room and could clearly see the situation outside.
Outside, there were a few police officers.
"Is there something the matter?" she asked toward the screen.
The officers in uniform outside showed their IDs.
"Ma’am, we received a report of someone intruding here, and there’s suspicion of illicit transactions, so we’ve come to check it out."
The police outside saw Yu Man safe and sound, feeling relieved.
If they’d waited any longer, they might have forced their way in.
Yu Man opened her Light Brain and scanned their IDs, confirming they were indeed real police officers, and then slowly opened the door.
"I think you might be mistaken, there’s no stranger here," Yu Man stepped aside, letting the police in, and glanced outside where others were sneakily watching.
Yu Man looked at one of the servers, "I’m one of your esteemed guests, right? These people don’t seem to be guests on this floor, did you just let them in at random, wanting me to file a complaint against you?"
"Why do they have cameras around their necks? Is your hotel just casually divulging personal privacy?"
The server was taken aback, looking down guiltily, "I-I’m sorry!"
The reporters looked at one another, thinking of the call they received.
"Hurry up and get them out!" Yu Man directly closed the door, not listening to their further explanation.
The server was in a cold sweat, this wasn’t how he imagined it!
Inside, the police questioned Yu Man about her identity and why she was there.
"Yu Man, S-Class Purification Master, I’m here to complete a purification task."
They nodded, "Oh, that’s it."
An S-Class Purification Master... they hardly encountered those.
Yu Man, that name seemed somewhat familiar too.
"May we take a look around?"
Yu Man nodded, "By all means, I’ll cooperate with your work."
The police nodded, taking a few steps in when a male beastman walked out of the bathroom.
The officer stared at Guan Heng in a white bathrobe, stunned, "Is this... your Beast Husband?"
They exchanged peculiar glances, focusing on the red marks on Guan Heng’s hands and shifting their gaze between him and Yu Man.
Emerging from the bathroom, no less.
Yu Man shook her head, "No."
"He’s not my Beast Husband," Yu Man stated honestly.
Guan Heng was toweling his hair, his eyes still reddened, looking at them innocently, "Sis... why are the police here?"
The officers’ expressions grew more bizarre, "Are you siblings?"
This didn’t look like it.
Especially this male beastman, appearing as if... after a frolic...
"Not that either," Yu Man continued shaking her head, "We’re friends."
"His spiritual sea had some issues, and I’m here to help him."
The officers looked somewhat skeptical, as if weighing whether to believe that or not.
They coughed, "Let’s take a statement."
They looked at Guan Heng, "Name, why are you here, please state."
Guan Heng settled comfortably, appearing every bit like the owner.
"I’m Guan Heng, originally staying in the suite next door. I know Sis, my spiritual sea was troubled, so I came to find her."
Guan Heng grinned lightly, casting them a glance, "Of course, I’m genuinely pursuing Sis."
"You didn’t think we were doing something inappropriate in the room, did you?"
The officers eyed the marks on Guan Heng, finding it hard not to doubt.
"That was because my spiritual sea was acting up, Sis was afraid I’d struggle, so she bound me," Guan Heng leaned against the sofa, "And besides, Sis is expecting a cub now, how could I be so beastly to touch her?"
The officers nodded, accepting Guan Heng’s words.
Indeed, a beastman with a spiritual sea issue could be dangerous, tying him up seemed quite normal.
But they were initially dispatched due to reports of illicit transactions, which set a preconceived notion.
Besides, Guan Heng stepping out of the bathroom looking all satisfied made it hard not to be misunderstood.
They asked some routine questions, verified the details, and then left.
Opening the door to leave, they found people still lingering outside.
Yu Man frowned, "Officer, these sneaky ones haven’t left; I suspect they have ulterior motives. Please take them with you!"
The reporters, alarmed, blurted out, "We’re reporters!"
"Does being reporters mean you can intrude on others’ private spaces?" Guan Heng, still in his white robe, stepped out sneering, "I could sue you for invading personal privacy."
The reporters remained silent, if they had caught a big scoop, they could expose it fearlessly. At that time, naturally no one would harp on these things.
But now, the intel was off...
From behind the reporters, a female rushed out, "Yu Man, how could you steal my Beast Husband!"
She pushed the reporters aside, reaching out to shove Yu Man!
Guan Heng quickly shielded Yu Man behind him, deftly pulling a reporter to block the way.
If this innocent male were wrongfully accused by the female, how unjust would that be? How could he pursue his dear sister in the future?
Yu Man looked closely, wasn’t the one rushing out Zor?
So, what she saw today, someone scheming against Guan Heng, was indeed Zor?
Zor grabbed the police, "She’s stealing my Beast Husband! Guan Heng is mine! Do something!"
Initially, she almost succeeded!
When she entered Guan Heng’s room, she saw him already asleep.
Who knew he’d suddenly wake and quietly knock her out!
"What nonsense are you spouting? I don’t even know who you are!" Guan Heng backed away, hiding behind Yu Man, "Sis~ believe me, I only like you. Don’t listen to her nonsense!"
The police looked puzzled, yet another female?
They looked at Guan Heng, "You mentioned being across the way, but this female seems to have come from there?"
"Don’t unjustly accuse me!" Guan Heng blinked innocently, standing by Yu Man showing allegiance, "I only like Sis."
He held Yu Man’s hand, "Look, compare, do you think my taste is so poor?"
Yu Man stared at Guan Heng’s hand, glancing up at him.
Nervously, Guan Heng let go.
"I think she either secretly crushes on me, sneaked into my room, or she’s delusional! Officers, you should investigate her! She could be a habitual offender!"
The officers glanced at Zor’s manic demeanor and nodded.
Indeed, it didn’t add up. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novel-fire.ɴet
"No, that’s not it!" Zor said, her mind blank.
