Chapter 15: Chapter 15

"I just finished talking to Ena," Anna began settling down on the living room couch beside Abigail. She looked over at the Mother witch who nose deep in a book.

"And?" Abigail replied glancing up from the black spell book she was reading, hoping for the best news but her magi already warned her to not be hopeful.

Anna sighed pushing a strand of her chestnut hair behind her ear, "The Rebellion are becoming worse.”

“See, this is why when we first came into this world, I specifically asked Ena to cover up his aura, now too many people know about Azian" Abigail replied feeling like what seemed a migraine coming on. It was nothing she couldn’t fix with Anna’s herbal mix tea.

“Yes, I understand that, and if you remember well, we did, but our magic, as you know is not as great as Omegas and even with all our masking spells, his aura grows every day. It’s like he punches holes through our protection the bigger he gets. Soon our protection will mean nothing.”

Abigail placed the book beside her, “this arrangement we have going on will not last for long yes, but is there another way. The beast is great if not even my magic can keep him well protected."

Anna paused before humming on response.

“We really are running out of time, we just..." Abigail trailed off biting her bottom lip, "we just need Alpha," she finished with a sigh. She might as well make that herbal mix now.

Anna nodded, "Once he is able to shift, we are assured he is ready, and can actually lead a kingdom and of course...the war,"

There was a short silence.

They both knew the war was inevitable.

“The sooner he shifts, the better" Abigail concluded.

“Well...maybe...maybe, we can make him shift," Anna declared glancing at her best friend

"Make him shift?” Abigail echoed, thinking the suggestion over, “Only if it were possible, I mean how on earth we can make him shift? As if we haven’t tried already?" she huffed.

"Well, this might work but do you know when Alpha first spoke?"

Abigail thought back, "According to Azian, it was when we first entered the realm, he said he only spoke one word.” She paused looking up at Anna, “Beautiful.”

"Any ideas as to what he was describing?"

"I don't know, it could have been the subway, or another person,” Abigail explained, “Azian wasn't so specific," she replied still deep in thought

"Beautiful, mmm" Anna thought for a minute.

"Wait, I got it...” Abigail interrupted, "we don't know what he was referring to, but if it made his dragon talk, it means it was something special, and the second time he spoke was to his possession human girl."

"Yes, yes...I know all these things," Anna replied.

,"Then I think we have reason to believe that he will only shift when he finds something that's truly beautiful and belongs to him."

Anna paused staring at the mother witch, "you don't think...he is-"

"Waiting for his mate," Abigail finished.

Anna closed her eyes sighing, "then we will be waiting for a long time,”

Abigail nodded, "it’s just a theory. A theory that makes sense. What sucks is we need his dragon, but if his mate turns out to be something sinister, we will have lost both,” she sighed running a hand through her dark roots, “I say we are better off like this,"

"So were back to square one?” Anna replied shaking her head, “it’s the billionth time but I’m still not used to it,” she huffed.

"Seems like it."

Anna sighed laying back into the chair while Abigail picked up the spell book.

Just then the main door opened and both women groaned inwardly.

The 'kids' were back from school which meant no peace of mind, well mostly from Alessia. Anna couldn’t keep that girl in check. She had the rebellious spirit of her father that was for sure. The boys in themselves were a handful just by their very nature. Being Dragons that shouldn’t even exist.

Plus, it was training today.

The footsteps of the three teens were heard thudding their way on the grey tiles of the kitchen floor before they finally made it to the living room.

Abigail glanced at the three briefly before turning back to her book, “Welcome home, how was your day?” she asked as usual despite her eyes being trained back on her spell book.

Some spells in it were quite challenging, even for the most powerful witch in both realms, she thought flipping to the next page.

"Abigail," Anna whispered lowly, her tone low and cold.

“Mm?” She hummed back in response not bothering to look up.

She had already calculated, she had at least thirty minutes, for the boys to go upstairs, change before training.

“Abigail!" Anna whispered louder and much harsher.

Abigail glanced up at her stern face, which slowly turned away from her to face the children.

She followed Anna's gaze back to the three in front of her, still wondering what the hell Anna was yapping about.

Only now they were four.

One extra.

A girl. Very pretty, blond hair, greenish eye color, model body, perfect height. She was wearing some dark jeans, a red top with some cute matching heels.

Lovely.

And also not human.

Powerful.

Very powerful. Her aura was captured around her easily.

She stood up slowly with Anna closely by.

"Who is this?" She asked slowly, her eyes drowning in the magnificent aura of the beautiful girl standing before her.

Definitely a Witch, maybe a third league, powerful, but her magic felt strangely familiar.

"This is Khloe," Azian began, his eyes steadfast on the witch.

Abigail tilted her head to the side, studying the girl before her carefully. There was something about this girl that seemed a little too familiar, her magic was masked.

My Mate" Azian finished his ocean blue irises lightening to a deep omega green color.

Abigail’s eyes widened, mouth open as did Anna.

"W-what?"

"Uhmm…What? H-how?" Where the stuttering responses.

No answer.

Abigail's widened eyes darted back to Edwin and Alessia who were focused on the floor.

"Khloe,” She repeated.

"Nice to meet you ma'am," she replied sweetly with a short wave.

"What are you?" Anna blurted out, her face revealing exactly how bewildered she was.

"I'm a hybrid, half Vampire, half witch," she replied maintaining her smile.

"V-vampire" Anna echoed.

Above all things. A leech.

"I'm sorry I just need to...” Abigail staggered losing her balance, almost falling but being caught by Anna as both Alessia, Edwin and Azian rushed by her side, guiding her to the couch.

Her eyes were closed tightly as she counted down from ten. Trying to soothe her shock.

Azian could have easily been mistaken like last time right?

She turned her head around facing Anna who was asking if she was okay.

Her eyes gave the question and Anna answered it with her own.

If Azian had indeed made a mistake then it wouldn't be with a hybrid.

Hybrids were rare, not extinct, mostly half witch half werewolf, humans and vampires.

It is a known fact that Witches hate Vampires and so do Lycans, although their peace treaty says otherwise.

It was extremely rare for a Vampire Witch hybrid to exist and even rarer or if not impossible for a Lycan vampire.

And though hybrids were very powerful, the amount of power exiting her was a sure sign that her parent were not the average vampire or witch.

"Are you sure?"

"We are," Ultra replied.

LOCATION: The Supernatural Realm

AREA: Ignere Forest

The shake of the earth, and the pungent smell of burnt grass, after the residue of magic, was a clear sign the dragons were far from extinct.

The king of dragons stood at the edge of the large plain laid out before him.

The field was bare as the last patch of dead brown grass was scorched out of existence.

Across this field where twelve large pits and in each of these pits where two dragons battling out with fire, ash, magic, and the will of a warrior.

Surrounding each and every pit were soldiers of the dragon army watching the fight below as the smoke from the pit if the charging dragons, rose up and tainted the vast blue sky a deathly grey.

The King Saga watched all this with a firm sturdy pace, his large muscled body airing dominance around him, his long hair tied behind him in a man bun, while his leather armor clung to his body.

He gritted his teeth as the ground shook again knowing fully well one dragon had fallen.

"The troops are looking good," his third in command Hydra Reye commented standing beside him.

Hydra Reye had three other brothers, all identical to him, after all they were quadruplets.

All four of them had one dragon called Hydra, a four headed beast who breathed out a deadly mixture if fire and poisonous venom and was the third largest dragon in the kingdom..

Because they had one dragon, Pete, Gavin, Rey and Louis could not shift or transform unless all if them were present which in itself would be a huge disadvantage if one if them where to be captured by the enemy.

However because if there shared dragon, even if they were ten thousand miles away from each other, they could still communicate telepathically, and all of them had the blessed speed of a vampire. That is why they were the most useful as spies and had the positions of third in command.

The king grunted, not bothering to reply as he watched the smokes rising from each of the pits.

"Where are your brothers?" He asked the hydra

"Gavin and Louis have not yet returned your Majesty, and Pete is with the younger Tydron.

He explained.

The king shifted his head slightly, "and how are the Tydrons?" He asked.

Hydra Reye smiled nodding, "they are big," he replied with a slight chuckle.

The Tydrons where the only other species of Hydra in the dragon army.

Born three years before the birth of the golden dragon, they had grown incredibly.

The difference between the hydra and the Tydrons were three.

Firstly, the hydra was a four legged dragon with four heads, while the Tydrons, and was a four headed serpent type of dragon. Meaning, the four of them had the huge scaled body of a snake while they had dragon heads.

Hydra dragons were not as fast in their dragon forms but Tydrons could slither past faster than any dragon.

A hydras head could be cut off but replaced by two more while a Tydrons four heads were near possible to tear off due to their hard tough skin.

A hydra was a sub species of a fire dragon while a Tydrons was a sub species of a cobalt, which means they did not spit red flames but rather veins and as cobalt dragons they could not do magic but did have magic running through their veins, similar to middle witches.

The king nodded once at this revelation before turning back to face his troops.

"Contact Gavin and Louis, I want an update on my son"

"Yes your majesty, excuse me," Hydra Reye replied bowing lowly before leaving the kings presence.

The guards a few feet behind them saluted as he passed by them.

The king needed security not because of his own but all the spies that were being sent to the forest.

After ten thousand years of being 'extinct' as thought of by the other supernatural creatures, (vampires, Lycans, werewolves, witches, winged men) after losing the Megalos Machi (the great battle between the dragons and the other supernatural creatures), in which the remaining survivors of the dragon army, accompanied by the last of the elves and fae, his in the Ignere forest which later became known as the dark forest.

Here they grew, multiplied for ten thousand years, till the birth of the rare godlike dragon, a species known as the golden dragons, direct descendant of the sun was born. After the birth of the prince of dragons, Azian, it was soon discovered by the leaders of the outside realm that the dragons were still alive.

The prophecy that lay on the prince of dragons, which was to extinct the other supernatural Species like they once tried to do to them, was a sure guarantee of all the enemies the dragons would have.

The first that broke the barrier of the dark forest were the Vampires.

Three months ago had been their last attack, five spies, three died, two escaped heavily wounded, but it was a situation king Saga could not afford to have again.

The dragon army on the other hand had grown, the young boys were now men, able to control their dragons and fight like true warriors.

"Sidion" the king muttered underneath his breath.

The first guard walked toward him, saluting, "yes my king"

"Call Tar"

"As you wish my lord"

The guard left, leaving the other awaiting a kingly command.

*****

"I don't understand why you’re choosing me for this," Michael replied leaning against the tree, his eyes fixated on a troop of dragon soldier behind the general of the dragon army, and also King Sagas second in command.

The general, Tar breathed out slowly, his tall frame blocking the sunlight, his biceps bulging out of his light cotton shirt, and his hair freshly trimmed, shoulder length.

Michael wondered why the general never liked to wear his armor, probably to show off his imitating frame, because even with no armor on Tar was still as frightening as ever.

He wasn't known as the beast of the fire dragons for nothing, and his dragon, Flame was the largest and deadliest in the kingdom.

In earlier years Michael would have been scared shitless, but in the last thirteen years, he had actually gotten to know this Tar, he would like to think they were even friends, and he really had no reason to be scared if Tar because Tar could not hurt him in any way at least not again.

He was the real definition of immortal.

Tar growled lowly at the irritating man before him, he liked it better the few years when Michael came and was scared to death of him.

"Because you're a witch, and I don't ask twice," he grunted out.

Michael glanced at Yohan who stood beside him.

"I'm a middle witch Tar, I Amy have magical blood running through my veins, but other than that, I'm the definition if human,"

Tar gritted his teeth trying very hard not to lose his patience on Michael.

"Oh don't give me the murder you glare, you know queen Rebecca loves me and the King needs me," Michael replied with a playful chuckle.

As much as Tar wanted to rip his head off, the witch was right.

Queen Rebecca had gotten fond of the witch, and the King had grown to like the outsider.

Apart from that, he was the only being who knew a lot about the outside realm, and could pass through the barrier without the use of a bracelet of Arkiah, due to his connection with Death.

He would not admit this aloud, but he too had grown to like Michael, who seemed to be wise beyond his years, but still managed to irritate him beyond all bounds.

And it was kind of nice to have someone who doesn't really fear you, and could actually have a conversation with you like a normal being.

Tar sighed, "I know you can't do magic, but your connection to the elements, could help these young cobalt dragons to master their own magic, " he replied glancing over at the troops.

Michael put his hand on his chin, "and Elzar?"

"Elzar is training the older ones, and the other elves are with the Queen, the fae will not help in violence," Tar responded quickly.

"Why should I help the man that killed me?" Michael asked with an amused grin.

Tar heaved out, "you will not just let it go will you Michael? It’s been thirteen years give it a rest," Tar replied rolling his eyes.

He didn't even understand it anymore, yes he had slit his throat when Michael had first arrived across the barrier.

He was a witch, it was hard to trust him.

And the son of a bitch, didn't even stay dead, because of his connection to death, he awoke and healed as if nothing happened in a matter of minutes.

But since then, even though they now had a Friendly relationship, Michael would not just let it go.

"It doesn't matter if it was 13 years ago or happened yesterday, a kill is a kill, you owe me, for both that and teaching these youngens. I want deer tonight, make sure Flame brings it to me," Michael replied walking past him.

Tar growled lowly as Michael passed him, "deer it is" he muttered underneath his breath.

He looked up to see Yohan with an amused grin on his face.

"Is there a problem?" He asked Yohan

The young boys smile quickly faded and he saluted to his general, "of course not, Sir!"

Tar chuckled, "get out of here boy" he growled out.

Yohan nodded walking toward Michael and the cobalt troops he was teaching.

Tar watched them for a while.

Truth be told, Yohan was 32, but in dragon years he was nothing but a teenager, and his body was exactly that.

Dragons aged slowly, and lived very long, so it was quite normal.

Michael was 43, but because of his immortality, he had only aged slightly, nevertheless he still maintained the old wise look.

"You really give the General a hard time," Yohan said to Michael with a cheerful laugh.

Michael slapped him at the back of his head, "fool, you know your general heard you,” he scolded, "sometimes I fail to believe you're actually captain of your troop,"

Tar grinned, chuckling to himself when he heard this.

Though they were out of normal hearing range, because they were dragons, they could here from a distance longer.

Yohan glanced at Tar before whispering apologies and running back to his troops.

"Don't punish him hard Tar, you know I like that boy," Michael said into the wind, knowing Tar would catch it.

Tar grunted unfolding his arms before walking away toward the fire pits.

On his way there he was met by a guard.

"General Sir!" Sidion saluted coming face to face with Tar

"Speak soldier"

"His Majesty demands your presence at this very moment Sir!"

Tar growled at the loudness of his tone making the guard step back in intimidation.

"What dragon am I soldier?" Tar asked through his teeth.

"Pure fire dragon sir!"

"What dragon are you?"

"Sub species of Cobalt dragon,"

"Then you understand I can hear you clearly without the need of raising your voice?"

"Yes sir" Sidion replied quietly

Tar rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck.

"I want you in the pit next, fight Mordecai" Tar commanded in a heavy tone.

Sidions eyes widened, Mordecai was one of the best cobalt dragons, captain of his troop.

"Yes General,"

"Now!" Tar bellowed and the guard scurried off toward the pits.

Tar made his way to the king,

"Your maj-"

"My brother come closer" The king replied with a soft sigh

Tar nodded walking toward the edge of the field where the king was standing, past the other guard who saluted.

"I see you gave Sidion, Mordechai" King Saga began glancing at Tar.

"The boy needed a lesson or two, he is hardly befitting to be your personal body guard," Tar replied.

The king nodded, “yes, but who says I keep him for protection? He can crack a good joke or two, rather loud at times, but a good soul,"

Tar nodded, the king was a revered dragon, wise beyond his years, and a lot wiser than him.

He could control the four elements without shifting into his dragon form, and had a golden side to him that showed utter dominance any time he chose to.

Although he had no wings like other dragons, he could still fly just as easily, by the air element.

"I see," Tar replied glancing out at the two shifting dragons before dropped into the pit.

"Are they ready?" King Saga asked.

"No, " was the straight forward reply.

This caused that king to look at him questionably,

Tar sighed, "The dragons have had all the training, but their humans haven't, what happened when during the battle they get sprayed with Xink, or too weak to shift? They must have a balance,"

The king grunted in truth, "let us see shall we?" He asked lifting the slab of earth they were on, and with his earth, powers, moving them directly to the nearest pit which happened to be the same one Sidion and Mordecai were in.

As soon as they arrived the dragon soldiers watching immediately made way, bowing and saluting to their ruler and General.

The king paused by the edge of the pit.

The dragons inside still fighting, the larger dragon, mercilessly swiping at the smaller one, who was quick to dodge and remove his blew flames.

"Cease" the king ordered his once brown orbs an electric Royal purple as he released his dominance.

As soon as he said it, though the dragons inside the pit where creating a hell lot of noise, they stopped, backing away from each other.

The ground beneath them slowly started to shake as the king brought the bottom of the pit back to ground level, his purple irises slowly going back to their dull brown as the dragons reached ground level.

The king left Tars side walking in between the two dragons that slowly bowed before him

They knew their leader.

"Shift" the king commanded.

Both dragons immediately began to shift, standing there bare, before the king.

A soldier jogged in with their uniforms and they put them on.

The king turned his back on them, "fight,"

Immediately both men began to go head to head, kicking, dodging and punching till Mordecai slipped and fell.

"Stop" the king commanded before Sidion could lay a knockout punch

He turned back to face them, "in your dragon form, you easily dominated," he said to Mordecai,

"Yes your highness," the dark haired blue eyes boy replied, slowly getting up.

"But in your weak human form, you managed to be harmless"

Mordecai hang his head lowly.

"From now on, no more shifting, I want all the dragons out of the pits!" The king ordered.

"Yes your highness!!" The troops of dragon soldiers replied.

"Except you, Sidion," He replied glancing back at his guard.

"Yes your highness"

"Tar, find him a worthy opponent," King Saga continued never taking his eyes off Sidion.

"As you Command my lord," The general replied.

"One who isn't Mordecai," King Saga added turning to his Second in command who nodded.

With that the king walked away from the troops in search of his King.

Tar rolled his shoulders glancing at the troops around him, and the other dragons who were getting out of the pit,

He glanced at Sidion, "You fight Yohan,” he commanded.

"Yes general,"

"And the rest of you, break out into your troops, captains, don't make me ask twice," Tar growled out.
