Soon Arya received a call from Dr.Jack.

"Arya, tell your friend Sophia not to harass my nurses!  The whole day they circled around me like a gossip monger to help her make enquires about me.  It's so damn annoying!"

Arya was shocked at his outburst.

So, pursuing a man in a curved line is also not a useful method either. She wanted to laugh but controlled herself.

”This is between the two of you and it is not right for me to get involved."  Arya began to find excuses.

"Who two you are referring to?"  Jack's voice sounded bitter.

Arya felt a bit scared of him but still said.  "this matter is between you and Soph."

Jack went silent for few seconds.

"Arya Du Vin, are you having very comfortable days recently, is that right?"

Arya gritted her teeth.

"Dr. Jack Daniel, your occupation is a doctor, not a bully."

"Thank you for reminding me.  As to your deep understanding of me, please tell your friend clearly that the harassment she gave me by her behavior had caused me extreme unpleasantness."

Arya sighed. It's not like you have ever felt happy before. Hah! Spot on!

"Speak!"

Jack's voice broke her thoughts,"I'm thinking."

"About what?  Me?"

"Yes.  I have the impression that Dr. Jack has not felt happy before, so this normal behavior response need not be emphasized."

"Who said I have never felt happy before?  When I read the text message that my own people sent me, telling me that I was invited to a sweet dinner at the romantic garden restaurant, I felt extremely happy."

Arya stiffened.

Audacity of this man!!! Even dared to mention this matter.

When she thought of this, Arya was seething in anger,  "Is this why when Dr.Jack felt happy, he send a beautiful woman to drive away his own people away so mercilessly?  So speaking of this, Dr. Jack is really a pro in using one woman to drive another woman away."

"What did you just say?"  Jack's voice was low and cold .

Immediately Arya felt the situation had changed dangerously.

After a while, Jack explained.

"When Nurse Rita went down to help me pass you a message to tell you that I was not free, I still have not seen your text message."

If he did not see the message, why did he let Nurse Rita come to drive her away?

If he did not see the message, why did he let Nurse Rita read the personal message?

Arya became angry again.

She could not help but criticize.

"Of course, Dr. Jack is a very busy man and needed assistant nurses to help you deal with your personal messages and make drive people away with mockery. "

Jack went silent for a while.

"It cannot be said that I am very busy but indeed I have to deal with many emergencies."  Jack's words were very cold and hard.

"I can also understand that you are very busy."  Arya's voice also did not sound good.

Obviously, he was in the wrong but he still acted so arrogantly.

"I was busy.  That day, in the afternoon, a explosion happened at a construction site.  While you were waiting for me downstairs, I was busy thinking of how to deal with a steel pipe that had penetrated the abdomen of a construction worker so that he could survive."

Arya remained quiet and then heard Jack continued to say.

"When I looked at the clock on the wall, it was already past the time of our appointment, so I called Nurse Rita to check whether you have arrived or to check if there were any missed calls from you on my phone.  She was told to let you know that I was busy and could not go out for dinner with you.  Because Nurse Rita knows you, so I asked her for this favor, was there any problem with it?  Or do you think I should have simply ignored you and it was better to let you just wait there for me?"

Arya's anger vanished and felt guilty.

Both ends of the phone were quiet and in the end, she could not help but ask.  "When did you see my message?"

"Middle of the night."

Now she understood. When he had called her to teach her a lesson, he had actually worked from the afternoon until the early morning. That Nurse Rita took chance to mock and insult my looks.

"What did you say? Did she uttered any hurtful words to you?"

Arya realized she had spoken her thoughts out loud. She scoffed in embarrassment,  "Was the operation successful?"

"It was."

Arya heaved a sigh of relief, then she heard Jack's low tone.  "But he was unable to survive for more than two days in the ICU."

She became quiet and did not know what else to say to him.

After a while, when she was about to open her mouth to speak but Jack had already resumed his brutal, bully normal self again.

"Remember to talk to Sophia clearly.  If she still bothers me, I will deal with you."

What?  Isn't that being unreasonable? Why he will deal with her??

Although Arya still felt a bit sad, "What should I tell her?  I don’t know how to tell her!"

"Tell her directly."

How to tell her directly?  Tell her not to harass the nurses because the nurses will harass him and then he will feel annoyed?

"Why don’t you tell her directly yourself?  I will give you her number. Oh. you have her number.  Tell her directly yourself."

"She is your friend.  If I tell her directly, it means I am not considerate towards your friend."

"Then, at that time, why didn’t you let Cindy tell me directly to stop my persuit? I became joke for your nurses."  Arya spoke in a low voice.

Jack went silent, then spoke softly,

"I will deal with Nurse Rita for what she had done. About other thing, Cindy is Mark's girlfriend.  I'm not familiar with her. So how can I tell her?"

"But then I am still Cindy's friend and also Mark's girlfriend's friend and so we are even more unfamiliar.  I cannot help you to pass the message."

"According to what you say, that means Sophie is the friend of Mark's girlfriend's friend.  That too is unfamiliar, so I can't tell her directly and can only look for you to pass her the message.  You are more familiar to me."

"Are you a bully?  I don’t care."  She will not get involved in his affairs.

"Arya, have you forgotten that we still have unsettled accounts between us?"

"Is it?  What account?"

"Do you need me to count them one by one?  Alternating feelings, mood swings, harassment in the middle of the night, hang up my calls, owing me a dinner, writing nauseating text messages to disgust me,  lying to me about persuing, also dare to tease me."

Arya was stunned.  What kind of shameless and arrogant person is he?

Let's not comment on whether is right or wrong.

To be able to spit these all out with one breath, how clear is he on the many minor things is he able to keep in his heart?

"Regarding this matter about you pursuing me.  As the man you are pursuing, I have the right to ask you to protect your pursuit."

"What the fudge?"  Arya was dumbstruck.

How did the topic change so quickly?

He also requested her to protect him as the target she is pursuing.

He thinks too highly of himself.

"Honestly speaking, Soph is considered your love rival.  You should stop her from approaching me."  He continued to twist his words.  "I have confidence in you."

Arya finally gathered her senses and if she did not say some derogatory remarks, she really could not stand it any longer.  So she told him the truth.  "When Soph sees more of you, she will naturally give up.  Dr. Jack, you are really not a good boyfriend material.  You must understand yourself clearly."

"I don’t need to.  I have you.  As long as you understand clearly then it is alright."

"….." Fudge!

He replied genuinely and also very powerful indeed.

Such thick skin!

Arya was trying to organize her words and was prepared to fight with him but she heard someone calling him on the other side of the phone.

Jack told her.  "I'm busy, I have to go."

Before she could reply, she heard the dead tone of the call.  He had hung up on her.

Arya was surprised.

She sat there for a while in a trance.

When she thought about Nurse Rita then she understood he did not purposely make her look bad and it seems she had wronged him again. It was Nurse Rita's scheme to drive her away.

In fact, he is not as bad as she imagined him to be.

After all, only his mouth is uncouth poisonous, his temper is bad and his personality not good, other than that everything else about him is not too bad.

His patient had died and he should be feeling bad about it.  She had blamed him for standing her up and it seems it was wrong of her.

"Arya, hand over your monthly report!"

The Manager shouted loudly and Arya was startled, bringing her thoughts back to the present.

Correct, she should not be bothered whether he should or should not do it, she should not be bothered whether he was wronged.

All she should care about is to work hard and earn more money.

Yesterday, she should have sent money home but she did not have the money.

She did not know what to do.  Originally, she had wanted to call home again using this matter as an excuse but the last call she made had hurt her.

She was very scared that if she was to tell them she could not send money home this month, she would be even more hurt.

So she was a little nervous and wanted to delay for a little longer before sending money home.

She wanted to wait until she has the money to send home before she will call them again.

She handed over her report and left the office. Coming out of office, she made a call.

She called her friend who had condom business and Institute where she was working part time teaching art.

She asked for extra classes if she can teach. She also asked to help her sell few of her artwork.  She needed the money urgently.

That friend asked whether she wanted to borrow from her to meet this emergency but Arya denied.

She hurried toward the institute to teach the kids.

While returning home, Arya received a call that made her very happy.

The telephone call was from the police station and she was informed about the case of the two men who had assaulted her.

The police told her the two men were going to pay compensation and she was told to go to the police station tomorrow to go through the relevant procedures.

Arya felt really lucky at the moment.

Those two men had shamelessly refused to pay and she could not do anything.

The police had ignored this case and let the men do as they pleased but now why did they suddenly become so humane?

In any case, she was about to receive the money and this was a good thing for her.

The next day, she found time to go to the police station.

The incident went surprisingly smooth and the policeman's attitude who attended to her was also very courteous.

Arya was confused but happy.

Finally, it was the policeman who helped her out of her puzzlement.  "Miss Du Vin, you are a friend of Police Officer Jayden, why didn’t you tell us earlier?  As a friend of Police Officer Jayden, we will try our best to settle this matter for you as soon as possible.  You can see we have a lot of things to handle and we cannot take care of everything, right?  And also, you should ignore the things that I told you earlier on.  Being compensated to settle this matter is not to deceive you but this kind of street fights often end up without closure.  Even if they are put into jail for two or three days and in the end, they will still be released.  So you don’t think too much about this.  At least you have received some money and it is better than getting nothing at all, right?"

Arya realized it was all due to Jayden.  But she had never talked much with Jayden and had never told him about this matter.

She thought for a moment and called Cindy.

"Jayden?  I didn’t know.  You still have not solved that problem until now?"  This was the reaction from Cindywhen she heard the news.

Arya already knew in her heart that if Mark who came forward to help, he would definitely tell Cindy.  If he had done a deed to curry for someone's favor, he would certainly own up.

So it must be Jack.

Arya sighed in her heart.

She was really disturbed by the wavering feeling in her heart.

She asked Cindy for Jayden's phone number.

"Why do you want his number?"

"He had helped me in this serious  matter and I would like to thank them."
