Chapter 148: Chapter 148
By the time the event at the workers’ venue ended, it was already past six in the afternoon.
Tian Xiang skipped dinner with the group and went to a famous restaurant with Meng Cheng’an to eat sesame seed buns and drink mutton soup.
She didn’t really eat mutton before, not liking the taste much, but the dish here was different. With a touch of scallions and vermicelli in the clear broth, the flavor was distinctly different and incredibly fresh.
After dinner, the two went to the theater to watch a concert.
This concert wasn’t singing, it was a performance, a symphony type.
Meng Cheng’an had VIP tickets, allowing them to use a special passage without having to queue.
The two of them were seated in the stands, and someone came to serve tea.
Tian Xiang was quite looking forward to the concert; her troupe also had instrument performances, but they’re somewhat different from a symphony. Here, there were more performers, it was quite overwhelming.
Tian Xiang really enjoyed it and later got completely immersed in it.
The concert lasted over an hour and ended just before nine.
Meng Cheng’an asked her for her thoughts.
Tian Xiang nodded, "This is great, let’s come again next time."
Meng Cheng’an smiled, and the two of them didn’t rush to leave, walking hand in hand at the back.
At the stairway passage entrance at the back, He Meng nudged Yao Ling next to her.
"Look ahead, isn’t that Meng Cheng’an?"
Yao Ling turned around to look, and her footsteps paused.
With such a tall and dignified presence, he was recognizable at a glance.
He Meng: "Look at the girl next to him. They seem to be holding hands! Unexpectedly, he really came, and brought someone with him, yet we waited outside for so long without seeing him!"
At noon, Yao Ling delivered tickets to Meng Cheng’an, hoping to invite him.
Meng Cheng’an said he already had them, so Yao Ling wanted to come and try to create an opportunity for them.
But waiting at the entrance until the start, she didn’t see him come.
Yao Ling thought she’d been lied to, but it turned out she hadn’t.
He just had VIP tickets, got in directly without queuing.
No wonder he’s part of the Meng Family, always privileged.
Beside her, He Meng was still asking, "Should we go say hello?"
What hello, actually just curious to see who the girl was.
Yao Ling pursed her lips, "Sure, let’s go."
She also wanted to see who had captured Meng Cheng’an.
Thanks to the special passage, Tian Xiang and Meng Cheng’an didn’t need to queue with the other spectators and could leave directly from the side.
Just as they were about to exit, someone suddenly shouted Meng Cheng’an’s name loudly from behind.
Tian Xiang turned her head and saw two young women in long dresses and short jackets walking over, with half-tied hair, quite pretty looking.
Tian Xiang looked at Meng Cheng’an.
Meng Cheng’an explained, "Classmates, not very familiar."
Tian Xiang: "Classmates in the same class?"
Same class yet not familiar?
She used to think that he became more outgoing after school, but now it seems his progress was limited.
Since they were classmates, Tian Xiang thought she’d say a few words, considering they’ve encountered each other.
But as those two approached, Tian Xiang noticed something odd. Their gaze was fixated on her and Meng Cheng’an holding hands.
All right, holding hands so openly in public, it’s indeed not great.
Tian Xiang intended to withdraw her hand, but Meng Cheng’an held on tightly.
Meng Cheng’an smiled at her.
The two of them openly flaunted their affection, oblivious to others.
Yao Ling and He Meng were stunned.
The cold and distant person could also smile so tenderly, and do such things.
So, when Meng Cheng’an earlier rejected Pang Meiqi, he wasn’t joking, he really had someone, an engaged fiancée!
Yao Ling discreetly sized up Tian Xiang, she looked quite nice, big eyes, small mouth, fair skin.
Just dressed a bit dowdy, in this day and age still braided in two big pigtails, doesn’t look much like a college student.
Yao Ling was somewhat unwilling to give up, and smiled actively asking, "Meng Cheng’an, is she your girlfriend?"
They were holding hands, couldn’t run away from being in a relationship.
Meng Cheng’an corrected, "This is my fiancée, Tian Xiang."
Then he introduced to Tian Xiang, "Classmates, Yao Ling, He..."
Meng Cheng’an stammered.
Really?! They’ve been attending classes together for so long and he didn’t even remember his classmate’s name.
Tian Xiang’s lips twitched.
He Meng introduced herself awkwardly, "He Meng."
Tian Xiang smiled slightly embarrassed, "Hello. You guys came to see the concert too, it’s beautiful, the pieces just played sounded so elegant."
Tian Xiang intended to casually say a couple of words to liven up the atmosphere, but who knew Yao Ling would actually inquire with such a meaningful tone, "From your accent, you’re not from Beijing, right?"
Tian Xiang paused, looked at her forehead, and smiled, "Yes, why? Is there a problem?"
Didn’t expect, just staying here for two days and running into two special ones.
Tian Xiang now didn’t bother looking directly at people’s foreheads, always making the eyes dizzy, it’s not good for one’s eyesight.
Now the labels automatically hide, just glancing when needed, otherwise not looking, this is much better, the eyes aren’t so tired.
So when the two appeared initially, she didn’t think much.
Meng Cheng’an’s classmates, just say a few words and greet.
Who’d have thought one was a special female character, and one a special sidekick.
The female character actually looked down on her.
Tian Xiang’s amiable face instantly turned into a look that wasn’t easy to offend.
Yao Ling laughed, "Nothing, I just asked casually."
Tian Xiang covered her mouth and giggled, "I thought you looked down on outsiders, thinking I wasn’t a match for Meng Cheng’an."
Yao Ling’s expression stiffened, caught in her thoughts, her face secretly reddened.
She laughed awkwardly, "You misunderstood, how could I have such thoughts. You and Meng Cheng’an are a perfect match."
Tian Xiang: "I think so too. Thanks, the two of us will be leaving now."
As Tian Xiang spoke, she hooked her arm around Meng Cheng’an’s.
Meng Cheng’an wouldn’t let his wife be bullied, wanted to say something to Yao Ling and He Meng, but Tian Xiang pulled him away.
The mind games between women, what business does a big guy have joining in when she hadn’t lost out.
Their figure disappeared into a side door.
After they left, He Meng said, "What was that, acting all important. I thought she was somebody’s wealthy daughter, turns out she’s from out of town. No idea where Meng Cheng’an found her, talking as if she’s so arrogant, like a peacock."
Yao Ling sighed, "Whatever it is, doesn’t matter, as long as Meng Cheng’an likes her."
Tian Xiang let go of Meng Cheng’an when they got outside.
Meng Cheng’an reached out to grab her, "Are you mad?"
With a not-so-good expression, certainly mad.
Tian Xiang: "Why would I be mad, I’m happy you’re popular, proves my taste is good if others also like the man I fancy."
Meng Cheng’an: "I hardly interacted with them at school."
Couldn’t even remember his female classmate’s name, Tian Xiang naturally believed him.
Tian Xiang: "Forget it, let’s not bring them up, the more we talk the more unhappy it becomes. Didn’t you say you wanted to take me to buy snacks? Let’s go."
