Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Chapter thirty two.
Zack's POV.
I smile as I walk side by side with her. We get to the booth and sit down on the footstools. The foams at the top are comfy, causing me to sink inside it, creating a welcoming sensation.
She orders while I'm still wandering my eyes around. When the order is made, she passes my cup to me. The glass is transparent, as there is a pure content inside, "water? What is it?"
It can't be water.
"You don't want to know." Oh, she's becoming someone else. Like, why? We left home together, and she was normal, not like this type.
"Hehe." I mock, and don't complain.
After about ten minutes, which constitutes me, spinning my head around this beauty around me, accompanying the soothe feeling with slow piano music, I notice Susan brings out her phone to call someone.
"Who is it?" I feel somehow. This thing is very alcoholic, I know that now even though its taste hadn't shown that, but being that it peppers me when it slides down my chest is something noticeable.
"A friend of mine, the one I went to see the other day."
I nod. "Oh, okay."
She nods too, "yes."
I am now on my second cup, almost done with it too when a tiny squeal discomforts me, causing me to spill the drink on my body.
It is Susan's friend. "Wassup, babe?" She greets, and comes to hug her.
"I heard about your promotion. Why did you not tell me sooner?" She presses on Susan, not giving in to the hug Susan has for her.
"I'm sorry. I wanted to use this opportunity."
"Hmm, anyway, I can't be mad at you. Just get me my drink." As she says, still hasn't noticed what her squealing did to my shirt, she plops down at the other side, next to Susan by the left.
Wow. Just good. Both of them are going to disregard me, but then, she says. "Oh, is that...is that Zack?" At the right time she would acknowledge me, I mock inside my head.
"Yeah..." Trails off, Susan. She smiles when she sees my spoiled shirt.
"Nice to meet you." Oh, she sounds nice. I feel bad for already judging her because of what she unintentionally did to my shirt.
"Same here. How are you?"
"Filled with eagerness, and anxiety." If I was one of the Werewolves in my book, I'd have smelt that in her, but then, just being human is enough to see it in her.
"That's nice to hear." I don't know what to say.
"You should get that cleaned." As Susan says, her friend, who's name I haven't caught gasp. She didn't even know she caused it. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore.
"Right away." Is what I reply with, and walk away.
I find it hard to find the restroom. It is such a wide place. Since I see no one to guide me downstairs, where we are currently, I had to walk up the stairs until I see a young lady that helped me out.
At the moment, I'm following her direction, the way she had explained it. I wonder if she's also a employee at the industry Susan works in.
I later find it, and enter into the room. It is wide, and clean. I go to the basin straight up, and rinse my chest, cleansing off the content. Thank goodness, it is white, but the content is sticky which makes the attacked part look odd.
When I'm done, I walk outside, and see that it's all silent. Oh, maybe it will good to take an exploration, just to know this place more.
My mind fights against it, a part of it though, as much as another part of it wants to go for it. I stay in the same position for minutes, thinking when suddenly, I hear clicks of shoes and quickly recompose myself, but then, surprisingly enough, from the long distance down the hallway, I see a man, wearing total black clothing. It calls my attention towards something. Then, I see another one, and following is another two. Oh, God, I quickly put my back against the wall at the other side. It has a bit covering feature due to its curvy shape.
I mustn't be seen. It could end bad. And last, I checked men in black aren't a good thing. Claire in The King Of All Vampire's Kings could compare.
I don't hear anything but muffled sounds. It is strange, well, that's until I hear someone's voice...sounds very familiar. Mr. Hitler's voice. It is his voice. Oh, God, it is him. What is he doing with men in black? Or maybe they are securities, even with that it still isn't a good stuff.
He knocks at a door, and after a minute, it opens up. Another man comes out and hugs him, pulling Mr. Hitler in tightly. Who is he?
They exchange words, but I hear nothing meaningful enough until, he calls and points to the far side that my vision can't catch.
"That's him?" I catch that. Who is him?
"Yes, come here." His tone is so gentle, like he's being super very careful in his use of language.
I frown. I am in the dark.
"...I came here with you? To see him?" The new voice arises as he nears, and that's when I'm shocked. It is James. I can't believe my eyes. Mr. Hitler called him with such endearment, who is he to him? Or better still, the Oh, Jesus Christ.
"Yes, dear. He can help you."
"You are the one who needs help." James retort. He sounds hating towards the man. I think he is tensed too, like he thinks he isn't safe. Is he being threatened? Oh, maybe Mr. Hitler isn't a nice man? Maybe he's forcing James to do something that he doesn't want to do.
That will be so cruel of him.
But that doesn't justify James' actions too. He can just let me know, and we'll both help him out.
"Don't be like this. You know what you came for. You know the reasons." Does that mean James intentionally came along? Oh, that's not good. I should stop listening. My nerves are spiking up already, I'm getting angered like crazy.
"This is fucked up already!" I don't wait to listen more to what he has to say toward Mr. Hitler as I don't even trust any of them anymore, and with the account that I'll most likely be working at his company, it will be best for me to stop listening into his private matters. It is his discussion, not mine to eavesdrop into.
As I walk down the stairs, I feel really hot even though it is at normal temperature inside. I go for Susan, who's dancing with her friend on the dance floor, both of them laughing at the jokes they make.
"Can we please leave?" Is what I attack her with. She is bewildered. I know she would be. It is shocking to me too.
"What? Wait, why?"
"Not up for discussion here, please. Let's just go, please. Or I leave now."
She frowns, "nah, it isn't up to that." Thank goodness, she is understanding. She whispers to her friend's ear and she nods.
Before I walk away, Susan's friend says to me, "you never got my name. It's Laura."
"Thank you, Laura, and sorry about my attitude towards you."
"No worries. We are humans, we can't always be loving at all times. It is normal to show other emotions, makes you more humanly."
"Thank you for understanding." She passes me a smile I find enchanting and nod at.
Susan walks ahead of me, and outside, we enter into the car, and drive off. Me, driving, while Susan is behind.
