Phoebe's POV

"Bye Kay"I said as I got down

"Yeah,wait,has your pills finished"he asked

"4 pills left"I answered

"Your inhaler"he asked

"Finished"I said

"Okay, I'll get you another one"he said

"Yeah thanks"I said managing to smile

"Bye"he waved

"Bye"I waved too as he drove off.

I walked into the cafeteria meeting the guys, just the way I expected

"Hey guys"I said not smiling as I sat down beside Jax

"Hey babe"Jax greeted as he pecked me on the cheeks,it was difficult smiling

"You're not smiling,why?"he asked

"I'm smiling"I said faking a smile

"Jeez"Zayn said irritatedly

"So how did your outing go with the jerk"Samuel said

"It was okay"I said

"You don't look happy"Emmanuel said

"I'm fine"I said

"You were late"Samuel said

"Yeah,didn't have morning class"I told him

"Guys,we having F/M class"Emmanuel said

"Jeez,2hours class, darn"tony complained as he stood up,I didn't want Jax to leave.As the guys left and walked some step forward,Jax was left with me,as he was about to get up,I held him on his hands,he looked at me

"What babe?"he asked

"Nothing"I answered

"Hm okay"he said then walked away, unexpected tears flowed through,I quickly rubbed it off,for how long will I keep this from him,even dad doesn't know his enemy son is my boyfriend,I was stucked up,after some mins,Jax showed up

"Jax,you're not suppose to be here"I said lowly as he came sitting beside me

"I know,just came checking up on you,I was bothered leaving you alone here"he said

"Okay"i said not looking at him

"Phoebe,I know everything is not okay with you and you really have to stop pretending like it is"he said

"I'm fine babe"I avoided looking at him

"You're not even looking at me"he said as his voice was getting tough

"See, I'm fine"I said as I looked at him, noticing my eyes all wet again,twas tears

"Fuck"he said with annoyance as he moved me closer and pet me

"It's obvious you cried all night baby"he patted my back

"Jax"I called to him still hugging him,I was tempted to tell him

"Yes babe"he answered

"I'm confused"I found myself saying

"It's obvious you are,I don't know what it is and I don't want to force you saying it if you don't want to, I respect your privacy alot"he said as he pulled away,I was happy,I had an understanding boyfriend

"Thanks"I thanked him

"How's your mum"I asked

"She's pretty as usual"he smiled

"Did your um dad hit her?"I asked

"No"he frowned

"Okay"I said

"I don't like you bringing up my dad's issue ,I don't like it,it makes me hate him the more"he frowned

"I'm sorry"I apologized

"It's okay, bye"he said as he stood up

"You're leaving cause of what I said?"I asked

"No"he said

"Hm okay"I said not looking at him

"I'm not upset baby"he said as he pecked me on the lips

"Okay bye"I said

"Bye"he said and left

In 5 minutes time,I was gonna be having food science class,I was keeping too much in my head, making me have slight headache.A student came up

"Excuse me,you're um Phoebe Erlone right?"she asked,I nodded yes

"The food science tutor said you should go to the science department"she said

"Why?"I asked frowning.the distance was kind of far from my department (art)

"He mistakenly transferred some handouts to the science department at the science head office,so he asked me to tell you, to help him out, bringing it to his office"she explained,jeez, that's stressful

"Jeez,okay thanks"I said as she then walked away,I stood up carrying my bag as I walked outside,I called Jax

"Hey babe"he sounded lively,unlike before

"I'm going to the science department"I said standing at the front of my department

"Uh why,that's far"he complained

"I was sent on an errand"I said

"Okay babe, I'm expecting you soon"he said

"Okay,are you done with F/M class"I asked as I made my way to the science department,he laughed

"No babe"he laughed as he talked

"What's wrong"I asked

"Zayn's frustrating the tutor,nigga is pissed off already"he laughed

"Jeez, Tony stop, he's fucked up already"I could hear Emmanuel's voice in the background

"And tony too?"I asked

"Yes, everyone is, I'm about to join"he said

"Don't"I warned

"Okay babe,yes ma"he said,I half smiled,at least I smiled

"Good,need to go now,I love you"I said

"I love you too"he said,then I hung up.i walked an hour before reaching SD,I was exhausted already,I entered the department, checking the map to know where the SD head office was located cause I really haven't been here before

"Jeez, I'd have to take the stairs,God"I complained,I went ahead climbing the stairs,as soon as I reached my destination, looking at the head office,I received a message,it was the food science tutor, telling me not to bother and that he has seen the handouts he was looking for,Are You Kidding Me Right Now???,this is so not funny.

i was gonna have attack,I coughed lightly,all students suddenly were running all around,I didn't get what was happening

"All SD student should be out from the department now!,A gas explosion as been highly released,get out now"the announcement news passed across,I coughed harder walking down the stairs as fast as I could,but I begin to feel weak,my knees grew weaker and I began to loose consciousness,I quickly searched for my pills in my bag,as I manage to walk, I was suffocating badly,I needed air. everywhere was fuming and I couldn't see clearly,I hardly saw where I was heading to and people kept pushing me from one corner to another on the stairs.my body began to lose balance.i brought the pills out, gasping for air,it was only 4 doze left,as I opened two to take in,they slipped from my hand as someone pushed me to the wall,I lost strength, gasping seriously for air,I managed to open the last two pills.resting on the wall,my phone rang,it kept ringing and ringing,I couldn't pick it.

I took in the pills and as I managed to stand still on the stairs, everyone were running out,I covered my nose as the pills surprised me,i was losing breathe slowly,the pills wasn't not enough,I came down from the stairs finally, moving outside,I gasped, losing breather,bit by bit,I coughed so hard,I felt light and my feet was not still on the floor,the pills had already dissolved in my mouth,I walked a step forward,then stopped

"Phoebe"it was Jax voice,I barely saw him as he ran inside and approached me,he was wearing on mask

"Are you okay?"his voice faded in my ear as he pulled me close,I losed control, falling on his shoulders as everything turned black.

JAX'S POV

As soon as the information was released to us that a gas explosion has been released in SD,I immediately remember Phoebe telling me she was going to SD.

Fuck.

I ran out as fast as I could, grabbing a nose mask, entering into my car as I drove off,I tried calling her,she didn't pick up,I wore on the nose mask

"Fuck!fuck!darn it!"I said angrily as I hit the steering,I drove like a mad man,as I reached SD, I almost collided with a car,I glanced through the car not looking at the driver,neither the driver looking at me,the car was familiar,I looked at away as I packed,got down and ran to SD department,

"Phoebe!"I screamed her name as I saw her gasping for air in one stand, pretending I don't know she's asthmatic,I asked

"Are you okay?"I asked,fuck,fuck it!no response,I pulled her close,then she collapsed on my shoulder

"Fuck"I said, disappointedly as I carried her bridal style out of the department to my car,she was gasping ,her breathing was so low, I wouldn't forgive myself if something happens to her.i drove her to the hospital

"Phoebe, please hold still,stay with me"I said as I snatched her bag from her, searching for inhaler or anything that could suppress her,i found nothing.As soon as I entered the hospital carrying her,they attended to me fastly,as I waited out.

"Darn it!"I said frustratedly scratching my hair

"What the fuck could have cauithag gas shit"I said annoyingly as I threw my fist to the wall.

After waiting for some time,I was allowed to go in her ward,her eyes were still closed when I entered.she must have inhaled alot of bad gas.why wouldn't she even tell me once and for all,its not that bad.i picked up her phone to call her dad,cause when she meets me here,there's no how she wouldn't think I know she's asthmatic because I'm sure she's been suspecting.

I went ahead to sit down on the bed, holding her hands,I felt so much pity for her,at least if she wouldn't tell me,she should tell Zayn,after all they're best friend.

As soon as I was about standing up to call my mum,some few persons entered,I could recognize Kay and I guess the two other adults could be her parents

"How is she now?"Kay asked

"Better now than before"I said

"You were the one who called?"her dad asked

"Yes sir"I said,she looked so much like her dad

"What happened"the mum asked as she sat down beside her

"She was involved in a bad gas release"I said

"Oh"Kay said disheartenedly,as they all looked at themselves

"Have you seen the doctor"the mum asked

'um no"I answered,now they looked relieved,I guess they also didn't want me to know

"I'll go see the doctor"Kay said as he walked out

", I'll get her something to you"the mum said and walked out,left alone was Phoebe,the dad and I

"Do you know about her,I mean anything confidential"he asked,me knowing he was talking about her condition

"No sir"I lied

"Oh really,what's your name anyway"he asked

"Jax Bowen"I answered,he reacted like he was just slapped in his ears

"Jax Bowen?Bowen?"he asked surprisely

"Yes"I answered

"Who are you to my daughter"he asked seriously

"Her boyfriend"I answered,his eyes widen

"Boyfriend?Jax Bowen?,JB?not Justin Bieber?"he kept asking questions,I couldn't answer at once.fuvk!how could Phoebe lie about me to her dad,it's really not right,she hiding her condition from me and now she's hiding me from her dad,if not her mum too

"No sir"I answered kind of frowning

"How long have you two been together?"he asked

"3 months"I said

"3 months?"he repeated

"Yes,she didn't tell you about me?"I had to asked

"No,she admitted it was Justin Bieber,all the times she do talk about you"he said,I was upset about that kind of

"Since she's with you, I'd leave then"I stood up

"Oh okay, I'll see you off"he stood up with me as we both walked out of her ward

"Have always liked you"he said like he's known me for years

"And I like the relationship you have with Phoebe,if I'm not always there to protect her,I know you would"he said, I like the fact that he liked me

",What is wrong with her"I asked, hoping he would tell me the truth

"Nothing really,she'd be fine"he lied assuring me,great!same thing,I know already,I just need to hear from her directly

"Hm okay"I said

"Bye,take care"he said

"Yeah"I said as I entered my car and drove off,I was heading home.

Immediately I reached home, Lucy was already home,she was with mum in the sitting room

"Hey mum"I greeted as I was about taking the stairs

"Hey wait jaxson"I stopped and walked back to the sitting room,it was lucy

"Don't fucking call me that,don't be mad"I said,she rolled her eyes and hissed

"Lucy"mum warned

"What's up with that girl"she was referring to Phoebe

"You know her name"I said

"Jeez,is she asthmatic or something?,I fairly hope not"she scoffed.

"Why"I asked curiously.

"I was in SD when I saw you took her in your car"she said

"What were you doing in SD"I asked

"I didn't go inside tho"I cut in

"I just asked what you were doing there"I said

"Needed wifi,went to tap some"she said

"You were still there when the fucking gas was released,you're such an idiot,you could have died"I said,not like I care.i scoffed

"Gas was released?"mum asked

"It's my life! not yours"she stood up

"Plus,look for a way to dump that girlfriend of urs,if I find out she's suffering from what I think she's suffering from,I will so loud it, making her life miserable"she said and walked out,as I was about going to give her beating of a life time for threatening Phoebe at my presence,mum quickly stood up from doing so,I flinched away and walked to my room,I was angry, I didnt want to start breaking things,I just laid on my bed gently,mum walked in, sitting next to me on my bed

"Was she involved?"she asked

"Yes"i answered

"She's asthmatic?"mum asked

"Fucking no,mum, wouldn't she react after inhaling so much gas?"I said,of course she did react,but what can I say,mum wasn't there when it happened

"She's fine now?"she asked

"A bit"I said

"You don't have to worry,she'd be fine,all is well"she said patting my back as she lulled me to sleep

UNKNOWN POV

"You didn't do what I asked you to do"Gideon said

"I did"I said nonchalantly

"I gave you the right information,you didn't follow it,you did as you wished"he yelled

"Before we started this shit, I told you already,I wasn't interested,I stopped all this shii,you forced me to do it,not even paying me completely and you're here ranting"I lowered my voice

"Even though,you didn't do what I asked you to do"he said

"I couldn't afford to release the gas,where you asked me too,I have my reasons and besides you didn't even show me the picture or any details of the person you want to destroy, you're just all fucked up, if you're ready for real business,let me know, I wonder who even connected you to me"I said as I was about to leave

"Okay fine,I'll pay you fully and increase it,on one condition, I'll show you the picture after when the job is immediately done,and that would be the last job I'd give you"he said,I preferred it,it was gonna be my last and perfect operation

"Deal"I said as I walked into my car and drove off.
