Chapter 57: Chapter 57
~Aurelia Storm~
When Arsenic got up from me, I got up too. I angrily adjusted my dress and pulled my panties back up.
"Ass," I snapped at my mate. Then I turned and headed back towards the pack house. As good as it felt to have sex with him, he completely ignored my decision and my desire.
"What have I done wrong now?" Arsen asked me confused.
,,Prevention? I told you I don't want kids yet."
"I'm not going to use a condom. That is unnecessary. I want to enjoy you to the fullest.", he defended himself. Hard to believe...just because he doesn't think it's necessary? I don't think I'm hearing you right.
"Have you thought about the fact that I'm only 17 and unlike you wolves, I can get pregnant even if there's no full moon," I continued to complain.
Arsenic sighed in surrender.
"Well then, until you change your mind, I'll use a condom. Just please don't be mad." He tried to calm me down.
I stopped and looked him defiantly in the face to see if he was serious. I narrowed my eyes skeptically.
"I'm serious. I would do anything to make you happy. Just don't be angry. I don't like it when you're mad at me."
I smiled contentedly. Then I turned away from him anyway and stalked back to the pack house.
Arsenic couldn't keep up with me and when I turned around to see what he was doing, he was gone. Why isn't he following me?
I thought nothing of it and continued on my way. But a short time later I heard wolves howling. Then wolves came into view in front of me. Among them were a cappuchino wolf that I guessed to be Steven and a slightly larger tan wolf. I guessed Costa because it looked like he was leading the group of wolves.
Without paying any further attention to me, she ran past me in the direction where I last saw Arsenic.
Then I suddenly heard a loud squeak, which immediately hurt my heart. I knew immediately that this was from arsenic.
I can feel his pain. I have to go to him! I have to help my mate.
Maybe that was a bad idea, but I turned and tried to run after the wolves. I tried to follow them and get to my mate. He needed me...
But they were too fast for me.
It was only a few minutes before I couldn't see them at all. You must take me with you! It's about my mate.
"ARSEN!" I yelled through the woods, hoping he would come to me and show me everything was okay, but he didn't. Something must have happened to him. Why didn't he stay with me?
I was still sprinting through the forest, trying not to trip over branches. All I could think of was how Arsen would fare. So I kept walking and walking.
Eventually I needed a breather and stopped. I leaned in close and braced myself on my thighs. I took a deep breath. This breather was urgently needed, otherwise I would certainly have died of lack of oxygen.
After that one-minute break, I continued my sprint and kept running. It wasn't long before I heard several wolves growling. Then I saw her too.
In front of me the wolves fought each other. Some of them were lying motionless on the ground and there was a lot of blood all around them.
I tried to get an overview and looked for my mate. He was the only reason I was here and surely it was a totally stupid idea since I couldn't do much damage to the wolves anyway. But while I'm here, I can at least be on the safe side that Arsen is doing well. I can't stand it when he's in pain.
When I couldn't find it, I looked around in panic. I took more steps toward the battlefield. Then I could spot him in the midst of all those wolves. His big black wolf was fighting against three smaller ones that looked rather unkempt and had yellow eyes. Arsenic jumped onto one of the wolves and buried his mouth in the other's throat.
Only then did I notice the large flesh wound on one of his right shoulders. He was certainly in pain... At least I felt his pain.
Worried about him, I watched the fight. Arsen, who had shredded the other wolf's neck, eluded it and jumped on the next one, which was about to attack Arsen. But within seconds he had this one too and shook his head back and forth violently.
Suddenly something hit me from the side and when I landed on the ground I felt a great pain in my abdomen and cried out.
When I was registered after a short time, I looked down at myself. My dress was torn beneath my chest and the fabric around it was soaked with blood.
I was breathing irregularly and trying to orient myself. Then I looked up and could make out one of the scruffy wolves standing over me and growling. The next moment he jumped on top of me and all I noticed was his mouth right over my face.
He tried to bite me, but with all my strength I tried to push his head away from me and not get bitten on my arms too.
He was strong and my strength is fading by the second. The wolf's mouth came closer and closer to my face. Until my arms gave out completely and all I saw were yellow sharp teeth.

Sure that I was staring death in the eye, I closed my eyes. I'm sorry, Arsen, for putting myself in danger. I'm sorry we only had such a short time together.
However, at the last moment, the wolf was pushed off me.
I opened my eyes again to sit up and check for arsenic. But the wolf now fighting the one who wanted to kill me wasn't arsenic. If I could tell by the coat color it's Steven.
He just took a punch from his opponent, but he used this moment to fall on his neck. The other wolf didn't stand a chance before Steven finally gave him the Gar.
Still in shock, I watched the life drain from the wolf's eyes.
Then I looked back at my bloodstained stomach and pressed my hands against it, hoping that would ease the pain.
When I looked up again, I suspected Steven's wolf form was looking back at me. Then he started turning back.
"Shit Aurelia, what are you doing here?" he snapped immediately, coming towards me in his naked form.
Without answering, I took a deep breath and tried to take in what just happened. Apparently I almost got eaten by a wolf again. That was the third time. Only this time he caught me too.
I looked down at my hands, where more and more blood was seeping out from between them. Running after the warriors had clearly been a foolish decision. But can you blame me? I just wanted to know if Arsen is okay. That was the only thing that mattered to me at that moment.
"Oh god, you're hurt." Steven covered the last meter that separated us at a breakneck speed, clutching his hands to the wound as I took mine away. As I did so, I lay back down on the dirty forest floor, because the sitting got real stressful.
"It's not as bad as it looks," I tried to reassure my best friend. It only hurts a little. But I'm fine, I'm alive thanks to him.
"AURELIA," I heard my mate's voice this time. "Fuck, what's she doing here?"
I turned my head in the direction the voice was coming from. Arsen ran towards me in his naked human form and then knelt in front of me.
"Arsen, you're hurt," I whispered, stretching my arm towards his wound. Arsen looked down at his shoulder, obviously confused, where there was a deep bite mark that was bleeding profusely.
"It'll heal," he said simply, brushing a strand of hair out of my face.
"Thank you," my mate suddenly addressed Steven, who was still clutching my wound. "Without you, I probably would have lost her."
"Thank you, Alpha. She's Luna, after all." Steven looked down at me and smiled at me.
"Call me Arsen," said Arsen. But I stopped following the conversation and looked around in amazement.
Weren't we in the middle of a fight just now? But everyone around me stopped fighting. There were even more dead wolves on the ground than before. A few of the wolves that were standing around us transformed. I was relieved to see that they were all warriors from our pack. A blond haired man who was previously a gray wolf approached us.
He also squatted down next to me. Steven then took his hands away and the other looked at my wound.
"My name is Lucas. I'm the military doctor. Can you tell me how bad your pain is on a scale of 1 to 10?" he asked. His brown eyes radiated a soothing warmth, which calmed me a little.
"7," my voice came out softly. I tried a smile, but grimaced at the pain he was causing by pressing on my wound.
"The wound is quite deep and she's leaking too much blood. We should get her to the hospital quickly. I have enough material there to provide them with sufficient care." Lucas turned to Arsen and spoke to him.
Then Arsen grabbed me and he started running with me at werewolf speed. I had never before realized how fast they can run even in their human form. Arsen was so fast despite having to carry my extra weight, but he didn't seem to mind.
Lucas, the doctor, ran alongside us and looked at me with worried eyes.
But I didn't get much of the rest of the way. Tired from this adventure, I closed my eyes. All I wanted was sleep.
"You have to stay awake." I heard Luca's warm voice.
I opened my eyes briefly, but then closed them again. It was way too tiring.
Then the great darkness overwhelmed me.
