Chapter 55: Chapter 55

~Aurelia Storm~

The birds in the forest chirped and the morning sun shone through the window wall. When I woke up, I was still firmly in Arsen's arms, my head resting on his heaving chest.

I ran my right hand over his tattoos and scars. Eventually he started breathing more irregularly. Shortly afterwards he opened his eyes too.

"Good morning," I said, biting my lower lip. All the memories from last night came flooding back to me. I couldn't have imagined a better night, even though it hurt.

"Good morning to you too," Arsen growled in his hoarse morning voice. We locked eyes with each other and then we both started to grin.

"Last night was perfect."

"Then just wait and see how the next few nights turn out. I took it easy on you last night because it was your first time." When he said that, my eyes immediately widened and I blushed.

"You're so cute when you blush," he laughed, stroking my cheek with one hand. I quickly turned my head away and stared at his chest, which was just a lot more interesting.

"What actually happened?" I pointed to the large scars running across his chest.

"Shortly after I became Alpha, my pack was attacked by another who were hoping to take over my pack. They thought I was too weak as a new and young alpha and they wanted to take advantage of that."

"And you defeated her?"

"Yes, but before I could kill the alpha of the other pack, he smacked me again with his claws."

I stroked the scarred skin again and then kissed it softly.

"You know what?" I looked up at Arsen's face again.

"Yes."

"The scar makes you look more dangerous." I kissed his chest and continued to snuggle into him. He was so warm.

Arsen laughed and then suddenly threw the blanket away. He eyed my naked body but then got up.

"What are you doing?" I asked, a little surprised. For a moment I thought he was about to attack me again, which I wouldn't have had a problem with.

"We're going to have breakfast now. After all, we can't stay in bed all day." He went to the closet to get a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Then he went to my side of the closet and also got me a light blue strapless dress.

I got up and took off his dress and then put it on with last night's underwear underneath. Then I went to the mirror and looked at myself. Arsenic's mark was more than evident on my neck. This dress literally presented the bite...

"I can't wear that. Then everyone will see the bite immediately.", I said, while running my hand over the mark. Strangely enough, it didn't even hurt anymore, it just made me heat up again and again.

Arsen came to my side and looked at the wound with pride.

"You can and you will. You're officially my Luna from now on." He turned me around so that I was now standing in front of him and had to look up at him.

"I don't even know what my duties as Luna are."

"Just be there for the pack." He leaned down and gave me a quick, passionate kiss before pulling away and grabbing my hand.

Together we walked down the stairs to the dining room. However, Arsen stopped in front of the dining room.

"I have to go back to the office quickly. Go ahead, I'll be right back." He gave me a kiss on the cheek and then left me alone. Great now everyone will be staring at me and I can't hide behind arsenic anymore.

I pushed down the doorknob and entered the room like I do every morning. As expected, everyone in here shot my eyes and then began bowing respectfully. OK, I wasn't expecting that.

I turned back to make sure Arsen wasn't standing behind me. But he was nowhere to be seen.

Then I realized that now everyone knows what me and Arsen did last night. I blushed and quickly walked over to an empty seat next to Steven and Inala. Steven sat on my left and Inala on the right. Costa then sat behind Inala and held hands with her.

They too gave me an 'I know what you did last night' look. I just gave her a shy smile and then turned to the food on the table in front of me. It's best if I pretend everything is the same as always.

"Luna," Inala then started teasing.

"Stop it, Inala" I tried to stop Inala from turning the conversation into an awkward one. Luckily she let it go and gave me a dirty grin.

Then I looked over at Steven, who also gave me a friendly smile.

"Congratulations," he said, giving me another polite smile.

"Thank you," I said shyly, and then reached out for his hand to squeeze it reassuringly. His smile was genuine, although there was sadness in his eyes, he was still happy for me.

Suddenly, Steven cleared his throat. We both jumped and turned around. Arsen grinned victoriously at him and nodded his head, enticing Steven to move over to make room for him.

As Arsen sat down he then took my hand in his and gave it a kiss.

"Since when have you been so friendly to Steven?" I asked my mate, who was grinning like a honey cake horse. Because he was no longer giving Steven the dirty looks either, although he would have freaked out immediately if we had touched.

"Well, you're mine now and every other werewolf knows it now. Also, Steven is one of my warriors now." He explained himself.

"WHAT?" I asked a bit hysterically. Because I had already noticed that much. Being a warrior was a dangerous job and I don't want what happened to Steven. He has absolutely no experience with something like that.

Steven, behind Arsen, started to grin proudly.

"You heard me right. I'm one of the warriors now." He proudly puffed out his chest and slammed his fist to his heart.

"B-but that's dangerous."

"You're not worried about your mate, but about me. I now see that as an insult." Steven pouted. I started to smile slightly again. But inside I was still very worried about Steven.

No one could have guessed that I had every reason to worry...
