Aurelia angrily left the room and slammed the door.
'What's the matter with her?' I asked myself while continuing to pack the travel bag. Actually, I didn't want to leave my mate. Lately I've had more and more the feeling that she's getting closer to me. It's a shame that she's now offended. If she thinks I'm chasing her, she's wrong.
When I had finished stowing everything away, I took the bag and ran to the car. I really needed to talk to the council and find a solution that would make Aurelia feel safe, because I can't imagine living without Aurelia anymore. She was just the most important thing to me.
I got in my car and drove off. Costa would take over the pack in the next few days while I'm gone. He always does that when I have business to take care of and am therefore not in the pack.
I hope he also takes good care of my Luna. I would have loved to have taken her with me, but what comes next I have to deal with on my own.

After a total of 16 hours' drive, I reached the Council's headquarters in North America around noon. My grandfather's estate was also here.
I didn't like my grandfather. He always thought he was the strongest wolf on earth. He didn't want my father to take over the pack because he didn't see that he was getting older. And now, as the elders of North America, he suddenly feels wise and still stronger than me or my father. My father's death 10 years ago didn't particularly interest him either. He blamed him because he didn't think any of this would have happened if he'd still been alpha.
But that is in the past now and I must ensure that I can have a secure future with Aurelia.
As I drove through the driveway, I could already see my grandfather waiting for me in front of the steps of the property. So he was already counting on me. I still can't believe he got that close to my mate at the mall. He could theoretically have killed her and I wouldn't have been there fast enough.
I parked my car in front of the entrance and got out. My grandfather immediately came up to me and gave me an exaggeratedly friendly smile. Almost like he doesn't know why I'm there.
"Arsenic, my boy. It's nice that you're coming to visit me again.", he greeted me and opened his arms. I just growled and walked past him through the front door. He doesn't have to pretend certainly not to visit him.
"Can you gather the other council members?" I growled impatiently. The sooner they get here, the sooner I can get back to my little one.
"I called them after I saw your new toy." I growled and turned to him to yank him up by the collar and pin him against the wall. How's he talking about my little mate?!
"She's not a toy," I growled at him through clenched teeth.
"She's just a little person. Do you want the same thing to happen to you as happened to your father? Just imagine what could happen if she told her human friends about us?"
I took a deep breath to calm myself and put my grandfather back on his feet. He kept pissing me off, but that's what he wants. He just wants to provoke me. I also trust Aurelia. She would never do that.
"It won't happen the same. I trust her."
"Where do you want to get that from? How can you be so naive and bring a human into the pack?"
I growled in frustration, but I didn't want to smack my grandfather in the head that she was my mate just yet. I wanted to discuss this with the other elders first. Otherwise my grandfather would just label me as weak because I have a human mate.
"Go to sleep, my boy, after all you want to look fit in front of all the old people," he said and was right for once.
I was tired from driving all night. I should also prepare myself for the council in order to come across as convincing. Convincing you to let my mate live was my top priority.
I retrieved my bag from the car and then ran up one of the large flights of stairs leading up to one of the many guest rooms.
I had been here often when I was younger, so I knew this building very well. Back then, my grandfather was still trying to shape me, trying to make me a big alpha like him. But honestly? I was a much bigger and more powerful alpha than he could ever be by the time I was 16 when I became alpha. I can only hope that my son later gains the same power, even if he has a human mother. But who knows. Maybe he will manage to unite both worlds?
After arriving in one of the guest rooms, I put my bag down and flopped down on the bed, before long I was in dreamland.
