Chapter 58: Chapter 58

Zaira's POV

Georgie was right, Hades wasn't what people imagined a god to be. His hair was the color of a normal ash blonde and his eyes were the dark blue of the sea. He actually looked good if his face hadn't had that yellowish, sickly glow and was less sunken.

When he arrived at my cell, he gave his bunch of keys to one of his four soldiers to open my cell and entered with an upright, assertive gait after hanging the keys back on his belt. The dark red coat he wore was so long that it was already touching the ground, adding even more importance to his appearance.

If Georgie hadn't told me how fragile he really was, I certainly wouldn't have thought of it myself. Still, I was intimidated.

His eyes looked at me so evil and heartless that they should actually split apart from the cold.

"I'm sure the others have told you what's going on. So let's stop wasting my time explaining everything to you again and get to work." There was so much concentrated dominance in his voice that was so easily used against me could be that my Wölfon whimpered his tail and crept away. I gritted my teeth and resisted the urge to do the same, calling on my powers instead.

Not for a second did I leave the knowledge that one of his guards would kill me and the others immediately if they realized something was wrong.

After I had found his life energy color, I gave the agreed signal to the others and counted on everyone to stick to the plan.

Without waiting any longer, instead of the black, dark disease that afflicted Hades, I grabbed his black, abysmal evil life energy and sucked it into me, away from him, and transformed it into love. But I didn't give them back to him, I kept them with me. At the same time, his energy was absorbed by other strands, as well as the life energy of the soldiers, who fell one by one.

But not everything went as planned. Hades immediately noticed the game we were playing and threw us all against the cell walls with a single wave of his hand. The bars vibrated and loud, painful groans and the cracking of bones could be heard underneath.

"You thought you could outsmart me." He scoffed and finally let go of his transparent bonds. "I'm sorry, I don't quite agree with you."

With that he walked towards me and reduced the distance. "I take it you put that nonsense in their heads?"

I pressed my body against the wall as he approached, trying to suppress the fear. My chest hurt with every breath, probably some ribs had been broken in the crash.

"Too bad your plan didn't work." Hades stood over me, glaring down at me as I crouched, trembling, in front of him. We gave an image that reminded me of a few months earlier.

No!

Alpha Blake's claws had lost control of me, physically and mentally. The words he had dripped into my ear and mentally abused me with over the years no longer affected me. They didn't affect me anymore because I wasn't the frightened, weak wolf anymore. I was Zaira Nevon, an Omega Healer Werewolf, and I was damn proud of it.

Yes, I had survived and no one would ever be able to break me again.

"You know what Hades?" I hissed at him, standing up with trembling fists. " Fuck you. "

For a few seconds he just stood there, perplexed, staring at me. At that moment, I put my hands right over his heart and yelled, " Now !"

Then I sucked his black strand of energy out on him with all my might, pressing my glowing hands even harder onto his chest so much that he began to sway under my hands.

In desperation, Hades tried to push me off and attack me by hitting me with Psychic Strikes, but that all stopped when the other healer werewolves rushed to my aid and exhausted him.

When he slipped wearily to the ground, I untied the bunch of keys from his belt, and then locked Hades in the cell, everyone cheered. I opened her door first and Georgie immediately hugged me.

"Thank you, thank you, danek!" she sniffled on my neck while her hot tears wet my skin.

I returned her hug. "Nothing to thank for."

Then she freed herself from my arms and helped me open the remaining cells. Once we freed everyone, she turned to me and hastily gestured for me to follow her. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"

I shook my head. "I still have something to do here."

"What? You can't possibly stay here any longer!", she was already descending the stairs at the end of the corridor.

"My mate is still here, I can't go without him. But you have to, now! Catch up with the others, before you lose them."

When she didn't move, I smiled and added, "You still have to learn how to dance the minakto anyway. Only then can we go to a gift festival together and dance around the fire."

"Promise?" Her eyes shimmered wet - like mine.

"Promise," I said, even though we both knew I might not be able to keep that promise.

Then she turned and ran up the stairs, not noticing that a soldier opened his eyes just then.

Aramis POV

I have no idea what Zaira had just done, but the enormous energy wave that just poured into me via the mate band had healed all my silver shackles and chains, as well as all my wounds.

My wolf bared his teeth in anticipation.

Serdas was so braced!

I heard his footsteps even before he stepped through the door. As soon as he passed the room, I spun a double-edged, serrated knife at him, snatching another off the wall just as it lodged in his back.

With a roar, Serdas turned and was already launching a barrage of fire at me.

But I had been prepared for it and evaded in time. I knew Serdas inside and out, the same was true for him. We both knew each other almost better than ourselves.

"Aramis, you know there's only one way this is going to end," he yelled at me, smashing me against the door with a blast of air.

"You think you know everything, but you don't!" I grabbed him mentally and threw him against the wall as well, but then held him there.

His eyes widened as he realized he couldn't just throw away the mental structure and was trapped. "What have you done?"

"You haven't quite understood how a mate band works, have you? Otherwise you would never have let me get one." I didn't tell him that I hadn't understood it myself until a few hours ago. "It binds two souls together, complementing the other, and giving her more strength than she would ever have on her own."

"Impossible."

"Quite possibly," I said as I stood right in front of him. "Any last words Faruuh? Brother? "

Serdad's face was contorted with anger. "You're making a huge mistake Aramis! We could rebuild the world together, just imagine how much we could move. We could do anything you want!" he said, his eyes almost bulging from his face . "But if you kill me now, you'll never get Mact, you'll always be Luna's lapdog!"

"You'll probably never understand what's really important in life.", and that I didn't notice this sooner, I will regret forever.

The moment my claws dug through his jugular veins, his body sagged and his heart stopped beating.

There was until.

I had reached my goal. Serdas was dead, and any hell warriors who had gone into battle at his command were instantly disbanded. Hades had no one left to help open the rift and set him free, and Mother and Gaia are healed.

My mission was over, but I still had some scores to settle. And they were all dealing with the same person.
