Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Zaira's POV
Her purple eyes stared at me lifelessly. Her long blond, if not already white hair stood tangled from her head while she tried to tame it with a brush. Her small, fine body was covered with wounds and scars, hardly any part of the body was spared.
Our eyes met again and there was sadness in her eyes.
How on earth could she still feel sad after all this time? I shook my head and looked down.
When did she finally understand? When did she understand that things will never get better? That there is no way out of this hell? With one last look at the girl, I turned away from the mirror and got dressed.
After a small breakfast, I started cleaning the house. After all, that was my job. An omega must do as he is told.
Since it was only early in the morning, no one was awake and so it happened that I did my work all by myself in the big warehouse.
A few hours later the beta woke up and gradually more and more joined them. Soon all pack members were on their feet. I tried not to run into too many, especially not wanting to get in the way of the beta.
Although most just ignore me, I'm sure some don't even know of my existence, there are still a few who make it their life's work to make my life a living hell. And the beta was number one on that list.
Speaking of the devil...
Eric Johnson, Darkmoon Pack Beta.
"Omega, Samira wants your breakfast! NOW!" his deep voice penetrated the kitchen. With a soft sigh, I got to work.
I got an uneasy feeling when I realized that there was only one type of baby porridge left. And the kind she hates the most. Pea and Broccoli Mash. It's no wonder, who likes pea and broccoli porridge?
I already knew what would happen to me.
When I finished preparing the porridge, I quietly walked into the dining room without disturbing anyone. Out of respect for those higher in rank, which affects the entire pack, I made sure to always keep my head down and avoid any looks.
However, only I had to follow this rule. No other werewolf belonging to the pack had to avoid eye contact in front of other wolves for fear of punishment.
But I was an omega. There were other rules.
"The porridge you requested Beta Eric." I then curtsied a bit, as was proper for Alphas and Betas, and was already on my way back to the kitchen when Samira started to cry. Great.
"OMEGA!" his voice was just so defiant with anger.
"Yes, Beta Eric?" I heard my quiet voice, still turning my back to him, I slowly turned to him.
"Come here now! And I mean NOW!"
I faced him with quick little steps, my head still bowed.
Loud gossip filled the room and instantly a sharp pain gripped my cheek. Although I've endured thousands of his slaps in the face, it never got easier.
He clasped my chin and lifted it up with a jerk.
I still kept my eyes down, knowing better than to meet his eyes. No one, really no one, wanted to conjure this up, believe me.
"You're pissing me off at Omega." He pulled a disgusted face. "Why don't you do everyone a favor and kill yourself?"
His hand tightened his grip on my chin and I had a feeling he was going to explode at any moment.
"Look around," he gestured around us with his other free hand. "There isn't a single creature anywhere that even wants to be near you!" his words wrapped my heart in an icy chill.
It took a lot of strength not to whimper out loud.
"Ncncnc. But but Eric." I was about to sigh in relief when I realized who the voice belonged to. My shoulders automatically slumped forward and I tried to make myself as small as possible.
"You know that she belongs to me alone." In a matter of seconds, he grabbed my shirt collar and threw me against the wall.
I cried out softly as Alpha Blake put his hands on my neck and lifted me off the floor, choking.
Gasping for breath, I tried to free myself from his grip. My legs kicked in the air in panic and my eyes started to water.
"Please stop!" my lungs hurt with every breath.
"What did you say Omega?" His eyes gleamed with glee and his sadistic smile widened. i hated him i hated him so much
"Please!" my voice was just a breath. Tears ran down my cheeks and I knew, despite the blurry vision, that he liked it. That it pleases him to see me cry, to see me suffer. I was getting dizzy and about to give up when an ice-cold, deep yet rich voice cut through my agony.
"Let her go." Butterflies exploded inside me and I felt like I was floating with happiness.
Mate!
I froze.
We found mate! Mate!
Instinctively I wanted to turn to this figure.
To this figure who was to be my mate.
This figure that was supposed to be my other half.
This figure I could never have dreamed of finding.
But the ensuing flare of pain reminded me that Alpha Blake still held me in his grip.
"I. said. let. her. go." his voice sounded sharp and dangerous. The calm before the storm.
Alpha Blake gave a small humorless laugh and grinned at him. "Who do you think you are?"
" I SAID LET THE FUCK GO! " his voice thundered through the room and waves of his tremendous power swept through every being.
I instinctively wanted to submit to his dominance and I sensed the same thing happened to all other wolves. Even Alpha Blake, using all his strength, tried not to offer his neck to my mate and submit.
WOW.
He was a mighty wolf.
