Chapter 750: Chapter 750

At this moment, Grace noticed that the mysterious shadow had already vanished.

Simultaneously, Lin Xian’s instructions came through.

"Return immediately after completing reconnaissance of the White City Railway Station terrain."

After setting up the new relay point on the rooftop, Grace began heading towards White City Railway Station according to the calculated directions. Her tasks included terrain and obstacle recognition, as well as checking track integrity.

She compressed images of all movement and transmitted them continuously back to Lin Xian.

Upon seeing the series of transmitted images, a sinister, dark, abandoned mountain city gradually unfolded before Lin Xian’s eyes.

This city differed from those previously traversed; the White City in the images didn’t resemble the state of decay typical of 100 days post-Apocalypse Day. Instead, it appeared abandoned for thirty years, with all human traces having decayed and dissolved, as though the entire planet was forgotten, devoid of any vitality. The lone building’s shadow was shrouded by thick black fog, and on the walls of streets, signs, posters, or any colorful entities had peeled off and faded, resembling the monochrome cities in old silent films.

Grace swiftly surged over the rooftops and alleys, the three million motion neurons granting her extraordinary agility and explosive power. Despite her body’s overall weight nearing half a ton, she moved with the grace and speed of a night dancer on tiptoes, weaving through the foggy city.

Grace’s exploration radar and sensors performed trillions of calculations per second, and suddenly, she stopped atop a rooftop beside the central plaza of the White City station, standing behind a clock tower frozen at the time of Apocalypse Day. Her radar detected the presence of an abandoned vehicle defense line in the plaza.

Twenty or so damaged, abandoned vehicles lay scattered in the plaza, many being high-level all-terrain tracked vehicles and heavy trucks. Their formation suggested that a defensive line once encircled here, with dry, dark red bloodstains surrounding the vehicles.

These vehicles lay dead still in the vast plaza before the station, surrounded by buildings and streets bearing the aftermath of a fierce battle, littered with weaponry and craters from explosives. Strangely, however, no one was present; not even a single corpse...

Grace, using visual scanning and dynamic radar monitoring, found no signs of life here. She directly leaped from the tall building, lightly landing on the ground, then proceeded to scan the vehicles for effective information to transmit back to Lin Xian. [Based on certain item features and vehicle graffiti identification, the vehicles here belong to the Fu Lu Shou Team, Team Dawn, Akse Brotherhood, Windwalker Team... others remain unknown.]

[Survivor count: 0, corpse search: 0]

[Battle time, 13-15 hours ago, calculation of time dilation ratio suggests around 17:35 yesterday, coinciding with Star Abyss’s devouring time.]

Lin Xian hadn’t anticipated Hu Lushou’s team making an appearance in White City. Viewing the transmitted image data revealed they experienced a battle, yet oddly, out of a team comprising at least a hundred vehicles, only twenty or so vehicles were present in the plaza, with no bodies seen—truly peculiar.

Meanwhile, Grace began sprinting swiftly from White City Railway Station plaza, directly entering the rail station behind it.

The White City’s rail lines traverse the city’s edge, winding along the mountain paths into the distant mountains. Grace jumped onto the tracks, and upon scanning, found extensive rust and collapse had affected both the rail station’s steel-structured buildings and the tracks. Portions of the roadbed had even cracked open, making the situation far worse than anticipated.

[Rail condition is poor, with over 30% needing further repair to prevent significant safety hazards for heavy trains.]

One after another, bad news rolled in, the atmosphere within Infinity’s Car 21 eerily silent, as everyone awaited Grace’s transmissions. Current conditions showed rail issues exceeding 100 kilometers, and beyond rail issues, that bizarre, floating fish-lion colossus sent chills down spines.

[Based on Grace’s assessment, over 195 problematic sections cannot be repaired via track paving machines; higher viable alternatives are recommended.]

All eyes turned to Lin Xian as everyone felt a mountain-like pressure.

Just as Lin Xian felt somewhat at a loss, Grace’s voice sounded once more.

[Static noises... My radar at White City Rail Station coordinates at azimuth angle 043°, over 15 kilometers beyond, reflects the presence of a super-large artificial mechanical structure]

Grace launched swiftly, rushing along the tracks towards a valley region outside White City. As she drew closer, her radar system registered more substantial echo responses, and the night vision system revealed a massive mechanical structure like a city in the sky within the observational view.

Darkness, like thick ink, submerged the entire valley.

Initially, it appeared as merely a shadow on the horizon, its colossal outline blurred like a mountain extension, until Grace’s continued approach finally revealed the true form of that rectangular behemoth—

A city seemingly dead and fallen!

Like the enormous body of a Sky City spanning several kilometers, two rows of skyscraper-like engine arrays appeared like abyssal black holes in the night, and beside the Sky City lay four ringed floating megastructures akin to giant space stations. This mobile city stretched across the valley, eclipsing the sky. If not for the distinct contours of manmade structures, it might even be mistaken for mountain peaks.

Despite possessing flight engine arrays, its base featured two rows of giant wheels deeply embedded in the valley, each track plate the size of a house, showcasing the majestic force of human industrial creation.

However, this mobile city was entirely shrouded in darkness, absent of engine hum, searchlights, or even the groans of metal expanding and contracting in the cold. The upper layers, where ship-like buildings on stacked decks should have been brightly illuminated, were cloaked in complete darkness. Along the city’s deck edge were three massive characters hidden by shadow.
