When their needs were thoroughly satisfied, they found their way to the park.

Angel noticed the little ones were no longer there. Amelie and the triplets had gone back to the cabin but Xavier was there with Cole, Ash and the rest of the gang. Cole was standing behind Isabelle with his arms wrapped around her, chatting with Xavier and Jason. Opaline was talking to Faelan and he could see the younger Were shifting on his feet and darting anxious gaze to Jason. His big brother turned around and grinned in his direction as the younger Were glowered at him. Jason laughed. Wulfrun, Darrow, Kurt and Odwolf were sitting around a table laden with drinks and with the way Wulfrun kept shaking his head and staring into his cup he was certain the Alpha wolf was half drunk.

Tiana was in a corner with Ash and with how close their bodies were and the scent surrounding them Angel knew there was some foreplay going on there.

"Looks like we have to pick a side," Nadia said in a laughing tone.

Angel smiled, pulling her to his side and they found their way to Xavier's group.

"I thought you two had gone to bed," Xavier said.

"Nope. We hung out a bit with my parents," Angel said.

"How are they settling in?" Jason asked.

"So far so good. And thank you, Cole, and you too Jason. If you hadn't talked me into following you, they would still be living that nightmare," Angel said.

Jason smiled, waving him off dismissively.

Cole shrugged and replied, "What are families for, huh?"

"Thanks, man," Xavier added.

"My pleasure." Cole Replied. "I found out the deed to the house is still authentic…"

"I doubt we can still claim it," Angel said.

"I can and have informed Jerome to claim it…"

"That was fast, thank you! And who is Jerome?"

"An asshole," Isabelle muttered before Cole could. Everyone went quiet before Cole busted out laughing.

"He is a necessary evil though, love," Cole said, peppering kisses on the side of her face until she giggled.

"Stop it, Cole," she said in a laughing tone

"Jerome is Alexander Miller's lawyer and right-hand man," Xavier answered Angel. "Cole inherited him." Angel chuckled " He was the one who fast-tracked the purchase of this island and is now buying off every property in Appleberry. Heaven knows I do not want to know how he is doing it," Xavier said.

"And Cole is allowing it because its methods are effective," Jason chipped in. Isabelle smacked him on the chest and he busted out laughing.

"He is a cold-hearted, old, bastard," Isabelle said.

"Okay, now I have to hear the story, what happened?!" Nadia said.

"He called me a merchandise!" Isabelle replied.

"Ooh, boy!" Angel said. "If he is still alive and working with Cole. I imagine this guy must be really good," Angel added, darting an amused gaze from Cole to Isabelle.

"As Jason said, he is effective, we kind of need him right now to do the running around that I can't do," he said, paused and pressed a kiss atop Isabelle's head and then mumbled, "he called you that before but now he knows better. I will not tolerate any disrespect to you. I'm certain everybody knows that by now and he is not a fool."

Nadia watched as Cole tightened his hold around Isabelle and saw the change in her. She shut her eyes, somewhat accepting his protective assurance. Nadia raised her eyes to Angel and he smiled down at her. She burrowed deeper into his warm embrace and let out a sigh of contentment.

"Boss?" Ash's voice interrupted their peace. Cole raised his eyes in that direction. Everyone there could feel his tension.

He gently withdrew from Isabelle and met Xavier's gaze. The two walked up to meet Ash.

"Hallec found a girl on the other side of the water, she was in a bad shape and begged to speak with you," Ash said in a low hush tone.

"Why didn't he call in?" Xavier asked.

"Ed was with him, he called me, they need your permission to bring her in."

"Who is she? A local?" Jason asked, puzzled.

"It can't be if she is asking to speak with me," Cole said.

"Is there a problem?" Isabelle asked, frowning.

"We are about to find out," Cole replied and to Xavier, he said, "What's your call?"

"Let's make sure she is not a spy and bring her in," Xavier said.

Cole let out a short cold laugh. "She will be going back in a body bag if she is…" he said

Xavier, Angel, Cole, Ash and Jason went to wait on the dock for the speed boat authorized to bring the girl over to get to the island. But when Hallec disembarked he was carrying the girl. Cole's eyebrows furrowed as soon they got close. Angel dimmed his gaze. A sound behind them made Angel turn back and saw Darrow and Wulfrun walking towards them. He reverted his gaze and they settled on the girl's face. Hallec slowly placed her on the sand.

"At first I couldn't tell who she was but there was something about her that seemed familiar. Then it hit me…" Hallec said.

"She is the girl from the resort in Ontario," Xavier said.

"Yes," Cole reaffirmed.

"What happened to her?" Jason asked.

"How did she know to come here?" Cole asked, sounding tense.

"I told her how to look for you," Wulfrun said and they made way for him to get close.

"Wulfrun! Come on man, that was a security risk!" Cole snapped. Wulfrun ignored him and lowered to his knees, his hand shaking as he slowly touched the blonde's bruised face.

"Who the fuck did this to her?!" Wulfrun asked, rising to his feet to snarl at Hallec.

"It wasn't me, man, I found her like that in the woods, she was able to ask to see Mr. Cole Miller before passing out," Hallec quickly explained.

"Calm down, Wulfrun, " Xavier cautioned. The other Were went back on his knees and slowly sniffed the air around the girl. He then parted the thick winter jacket she adorned and saw her stomach was swollen.

"She is pregnant," Hallec said.

"Yes," Wulfrun said, nodding. Angel could perceive a twirl of emotions around the Alpha Were and none of it was negative. He figured then that the girl must be Wulfrun's mate.

"I need to take her to Amelie…" Wulfrun said and lifted the girl carefully into his arms. He turned around to face Cole, Xavier, Angel and Darrow. Cole still looked upset but the other Weres regarded Wulfrun with perplexity.

"I'm sorry, Cole but there is something you should know – something you should all know. That day at the resort, I found out she was mine to claim and I did," Wulfrun explained. The anger on Cole's face dissolved into a worried frown.

"What happened to her though?" Darrow asked.

"We will find out when she wakes up," Xavier said, reaching out to part Wulfrun by the shoulder. "I will call Amelie," he added.

"Hallec, we need to patrol the woods, and the town to make sure there's nothing sinister going on," Cole said.

"Already on it. Ed with a few of our Gammas are in the woods scouting for clues,"

Hallec replied. Cole nodded.

"I suppose we have to wait for their findings or she might wake up and make it easy for us," Cole said and brought out his phone as they all headed back.

"Who are you calling?" Xavier asked.

"The Resort manager…. Let's see if she can tell us what happened to her staff."

"What's her name?" Angel asked Wulfrun, matching his long stride.

"Danielle."

"I suppose congratulations are in order …" Angel added.

"Don't congratulate me yet. I don't know what the moon goddess is up to. I don't want a human mate but now I have one. She is carrying my pup and doesn't know what I am," Wulfrun replied and then grumbled, "It's going to be just swell!" he spat, sounding exasperated. "The past few weeks have been hell without her and now she is here, looking like a road kill. First, I want to make sure she is alright then I'm going to find the bastard or bastards who did this. And they are going to fucking hate the day their fucking fathers fucked and spilt seed in their hoes of mothers!"

"Calm down, Wulfrun!" Xavier called from the back.

"Oh, I am calm. I am very calm, can't you tell?!" He snarled, showing his sharp canine teeth.
