Chapter 87: Chapter 87

Angel and his parents watched the fucker's blood pool under his head and soak the snow-covered floor. His brain cells splattered everywhere.

"Where is the property deed?" Cole asked calmly as if he hadn't just shot a man in the head.

"In a box buried under the earth over there," Angel’s father said, weakly, pointing to the left end of where they stood.

"How come you never gave it to him?" Angel asked, still holding on to his parents, making sure he held them to his sides as if he was afraid they were an illusion that might fade away.

"I was hit in the head, when they attacked," the old man started. Angel clenched his teeth remembering the scene too well. "I told him I had lost my memory. Your mother was unconscious for days," he continued. Angel pressed a kiss to the older woman's head as she clung to him. "She lost her voice for a while too. It made it easy for me to continue the charade."

"They had killed everybody else…" the older woman chipped in sad resignation.

"So there was no other person they could use against me," the old man concluded. Cole nodded and met Angel's face.

"Tell me where and let me get it," Angel said.

"I have to take you there," his father replied. Angel chuckled and tightened his hold on him. He felt his eyes smart with tears, feeling how frail he seemed for a man who he remembered to be strong and virile.

"Is there anything else you want here to take with you as keepsakes?" Cole asked Angel’s father and threw a glance at Ash. The other man grinned and gestured to his men to pick up Bradshaw's body. Cole shook his head. Ash and Jason laughed.

"You worry me sometimes, Ash," Cole said. The rest of the men laughed.

"Everything of ours is in the box I buried. Everything here is just a reminder of what we lost," Angel’s father replied.

"Good. But this land is yours…" Cole said.

"I doubt they will let us keep it…" Angel’s father replied.

"Oh, they will. You can trust me on that one," Cole said.

"You are human. Why are you helping us?" Angel's mother asked, looking at Cole with a pain-filled reserve as Ash men took Bradshaw's body away. Cole stepped forward and took the woman's hand. Angel pressed a kiss atop her head.

"I should introduce you… Cole, this is my father; Alpha Bardulf Wulfblood of The Boldclaw Prowlers Pack. And my mother Luna Hera Wulfblood. Mum, dad, this is—" Angel said.

"Let me, please,” Cole said, “It’s a great honour to get to meet you, Alpha Bardulf and Luna Hera. Here are my friends. This is Jason, Ash. Ed…” Cole continued and each one stepped forward to shake Alpha Bardulf’s hand and bow a little to Luna Hera. “And yes, you are right. I am human but you and your family are my families now," Cole continued. Angel's mother searched his eyes with a keen gaze and a frown furrowed her eyebrows. Cole directed his eyes to meet Alpha Bardulf’s gaze and then added, "Your niece Isabelle Wulfblood is my mate… she is Isabelle Cole Miller now though."

"Oh, my God!" the woman exclaimed in shock.

"Isabelle? My brother Arcanine’s Daughter?! She survived?!" Alpha Bardulf said in an impassioned voice.

"Yes, papa, Isabelle and Xavier survived," Angel replied. His parents busted out crying.

"Oh, my God, I thought we were the only ones left. For all these years…" his mother cried.

"Xavier saved a lot of our kind, including me," Angel said and paused, his parents directed teary gazes at him.

"They were the ones who saved you?!" his father asked.

"Yes, but with Cole's help," Angel replied, gesturing to Cole. "He and Jason are military, Ash and the others used to be in the military too but they work for themselves now," Angel explained.

Alpha Bardulf directed his gaze at Jason and smiled. "I thought I was deluded when I perceived your wolf," Alpha Bardulf said. Jason gave him a polite smile.

"Jason's brother; Faelan, was in captivity with me. We were all rescued at the same time," Angel said.

"Oh, thank you for saving my son and everyone else… I hope your brother is well?" Angel's mother said.

"He is, physically. And you don't need to thank us, it is our duty to save and protect lives, and that's exactly what we did," Jason said.

"There is somebody else who also helped us, you will meet her soon," Angel said.

"I am certain everyone would be happy to see you survived…" Cole said.

"Everybody? How many of our kind are left?" Alpha Bardulf asked.

"Xavier was able to save more than seven thousand Were," Angel supplied.

"Seven thousand?!" his mother exclaimed. Alpha Bardulf beamed with pride.

"That's believable. He is Arcanine’s son after all," the older man said.

"Boss?" Ash said, standing by.

Cole stepped back from Luna Hera and said, "We need to get that box you spoke of and leave, there would be plenty of time to catch up."

Alpha Bardulf nodded. Jason reached forward to hold him by the hand, leading him away in the direction he pointed earlier.

"What does the human intend to do with the house?" Alpha Bardulf asked Jason.

"Cole?"

"Yes, Cole," the older Were affirmed.

"Burn the whole place down," Angel replied from behind them.

"Hmm… that is quite fitting," the older man replied with no emotion whatsoever.
