Chapter 74: Chapter 74
THE END
The End
Kitee, North Karelia, Finland
One Week Later
Radi followed Aku into the Pack's house. He knew why he was here, but he also did not understand how it could have come to this. He was actually hanging out with Aku's Pack.
"I do not see why we are here," Radi said.
Aku lead the way to a back room. "I need to show you something. I think it will change your view on some things."
Radi winced as his sensitive ears picked the cries of the animals. He wished that they would just give it a rest. Most importantly, he wished that Aku would explain why they were here in the first place.
Aatu was attending to a dog when the werewolves entered the kitchen. The dog tried to move away from the newcomers, but the vet managed to soothe it. "He had got cancer and is in a lot of pain."
Aku went over to the dog and began to pet it. The dog first appeared to be nervous around him, but was slowly calmed. He appeared to have a way with animals. It was something that Radi had never had.
A foul scent filled the room every time that the dog took a deep breath. Although Radi had never smelt one before, it smelled like a corpse, like the Black Death. He looked at the other two.
"You smell it too?" Aku inquired.
Radi looked back at the dog. "Yeah, it smells like-" He was not sure how to put this.
"Like death," Aatu supplied.
Radi swallowed heard. "Yeah, like that."
Aku rubbed the dog's ears. "So, he is not going to get any better."
Aatu shook his head. "No, it will only get worse.
Aku nodded grimly. "He is in a lot of pain."
Aatu nodded in agreement.
Suddenly Aku took Radi's arm. "I want to show you something." Without waiting, he placed Isaac's hand on the dog. "Now, use your healing powers."
Radi released the werewolf. He watched as a black liquid quickly filled up his veins and then quickly disappeared. He looked up at Aku with wide eyes. "What just happened?" He looked down at the dog who seemed to be more relaxed. "Did I just heal it?"
"You did not heal it, but you took some of its' pain away," Aku said.
Radi quickly batted his eyes. It was so beautiful to be able to help something as innocent as this. It made him feel good and not evil.
Twenty minutes later, the werewolves were outside.
"So are you coming tonight?" Aku asked.
Radi shrugged. "I think I may need some time to think about all of this."
Aku nodded.
"Are you going?"
Aku nodded his head.
"Maybe I will too."
Aku smiled. "I think it will do you some good to be around some of your own kind." He paused. "I know this must be a lot to take in."
Radi looked back at the house. "You could say that again."
"It can only get better. You have to trust me on that one."
!
Floor ran her hand along Kaiden 's cheek. She felt his familiar stubble and a soft patch of hair that he had missed with his razor this morning. She breathed in the gentle smell of his aftershave. She had longed to touch him for six months.
"How do you know?" he asked, his voice low, slipping down past its' normal baritone.
She smiled at him. "I just know," she whispered. She leaned up and kissed him.
She normally did not want to appear as the type of girl who needed her boyfriend by her side at all times. Tonight, she wanted to be that girl. She needed him tonight. She had been alone in that awful world for the last six months. Tonight, she did not want to be alone. When the sun went to sleep, she wanted to be by his side-as princess and prince.
Kaiden put his arms around her and ran his hands up and down her body. Goosebumps broke on her skin and chills raced down her spin. Floor had never felt this way before with him. He knew just where to touch her.
She ran her hands over his body as she deepened the kiss. She had been waiting six long months to be near him. She nicked her teeth against his lip, but did not draw blood. She did not want to hurt him, but wanted him to know that she was the one in charge tonight. He backed off and allowed her to take control.
She felt his muscles contract as he moved with her. There were times when she appreciated the fact that he was a werewolf more than others. Tonight was one of those times. The Falcons training schedule had really allowed him to bulk up. He wasn't too bulk though. It made him look more like himself.
Floor shut her eyes. She did not want this moment to end. She just wanted to be her with Kaiden . With him here tonight, her world would be complete. She did not need anyone but him right now. Her world was just him and her tonight.
She slid her hands under his shirt and touched his abs. The touch made him jerk away. She had forgotten that his stomach was one of the few places that he was ticklish.
"That was payback for earlier," she said.
"That was evil," Kaiden muttered. "Pure evil."
He climbed on top of her and stared down at her. His brown eyes had a mischievous look to them. Floor smiled sweetly at him; she thought that he deserved what he had gotten.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
He buried his face in her neck and gently kissing it. It tickled, but she was not about to let him know that. Other than that, it felt wonderful and made her want to purr like a cat. She dug her nails into his back, not enough to hurt him, but enough to let him know that she was the one in the driver's seat. It worked because she felt him draw back a little.
She reached for the buttons on his shirt and began to undo them. Once they were undone, she pulled it back off his shoulders and took in the sharp angles that made him Kaiden .
He broke away from her for a moment. "I wouldn't have taken you for the type," he said as he looked down at his bare chest.
"What do you mean?" Floor asked innocently.
"You know what I mean," Kaiden muttered.
Floor got on top of him and pinned him to the couch. "There is a lot of things you don't know about me," she whispered as she kissed his lips. "Sometimes I can very, very evil." She paused between each word to kiss him.
Kaiden returned each kiss. "I already knew that."
"Baby, you've seen haven't seen nothing yet," she said as she ran her hand over his bare skin and gently slapped his stomach.
Kaiden let a small laugh escape his lips. "So, are you telling me that you have a secret side that I don't know about?"
She just smiled. "Let me show you."
!
Tarja scanned the flat. It seemed like everyone was kind of going their own way, but her. Well, her and Aleksander and Sebastiaan. Raakel had even gone back to the remains of her cabin to see if there was anything that could be rebuilt.
Aleksander looked up from the oven, where he was making something, but wouldn't tell her what it was. Who even knew he could cook? "What?"
Tarja just shrugged.
He threw a dish towel over his shoulder as he came closer to her. "I can tell that you're thinking about something." He smiled. "You might as well tell me, because you know that I will get the truth out of you."
She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? What makes you think so?"
He leaned closer to her. "Because I know how you work."
She just shook her head as Sebastiaan entered the room. His colour was looking a little better, but there was still something off about him. She guessed that the fact he was upright was a good sign. It was better than where he had been. They had had to all but carry him off the battlefield.
He looked between the two of them. "Oh, don't let me stop you two. I can go back into the other room if you need a moment."
Tarja shot him a long look. No…Why would he even think such a terrible thought?
Aleksander threw his dish towel at Sebastiaan. "Get those terrible thoughts out of your head!"
Sebastiaan only laughed as he disappeared from sight.
Aleksander turned back to Tarja. "Well, what do you want to do now?"
Tarja shrugged as Kendra stepped into the room with Sebastiaan behind her.
"I really don't know."
