Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Cole and Amy's eyes interlocked and his eyes diverted to her lips as she heaved. His hand slowly walked up her back in the water and a chill went up her spine. "I.. I want you, Amy," his voice came out hoarse. "No matter how I try not, I cannot resist you. I want you in my life, not just because we have a son together or because we're mates, but because I truly do want you to be a part of me," he continued and Amy could feel butterflies in her stomach.

Her heart beat raced against her chest. "Cole, I..." She was about to say something.

"You don't have to say anything," he interrupted her, placing a finger, tantalizing on her lips, which stopped her from saying anything further. He leaned closer to her lips and was just about to kiss her, when he stopped and stared at her. "May I?" He sought for her permission.

She chuckled. "Have you ever asked me for permission before?" She asked with a small smile as her breath hitched.

He smiled. "I've been doing this wrongly. I feel this is the time to set everything properly and going smoothly.." he replied and she placed a kiss on his lips.

She pulled back with a shy smile on her face. That was his go ahead that he could kiss her. He did not hesitate to pull her tighter to himself and kiss her like his life depended on it. It wasn't a kiss that indicated the desires to get laid, but a kiss that sparked flames and ignited a deep yearning of belonging, love and fulfillment, as their wolves howled as one.

"Hungry?" Cole asked Amy as he pulled on his jacket.

She chuckled with a smile. "I'm starving," she replied.

"Come on, let's go eat. You can pick a restaurant of your choice on the way," he said, returning her smile and she nodded.

He took her hand in his and led her out of the fortress. "May I come here sometime?" She asked him.

"Sure, you can come here even without me. You don't have to ask," he responded and she smiled at him.

They got to the car and drove off as Amy picked a perfect restaurant for their meal.

In a couple of hours, they got back to the city and went straight to the restaurant Amy picked. It was one of those restaurants in Louisiana popular with their Creoles creme brulee, crab sauce and shrimp scampi.

They got into the restaurant and ordered. When their orders came, Cole could not help but stare at the infamous dishes for a second.

"Don't tell me you haven't eaten one of these before?" Amy said to him in wonderment and he shook his head. She chuckled. "Come on, try this," she said as she took from the creme brulee and the shrimp scampi. She held the spoon in front of his mouth and he slowly took a bite. She chuckled again.

He chewed on it and had a look of excitement on his face. "Hell, I never expected it to taste...so good," he commended.

"See, I told you," Amy replied, grinning.

He chuckled and together they kept eating akd keeping conversations, unknown to them, pictures of them were been taken.

"Where are we going to again?" Amy asked Cole as they stepped out of the stakes stall that she had dragged him to after leaving the restaurant.

"You'll see," was his response with a wide grin as he began to drive.

"It's getting late," she replied.

"And that is why, it is the best time," he said with a smile.

"You won't spill, will you?" She chuckled, giving up and he shook his head with a grin.

Cole got to a spot and parked the car. He went over to the other side and opened the door for her. Taking her hand, he led her up the hill. She was curious on what he had in store for her.

The sun was just about to set when they got to the top of the hill. "Wow, it looks like I'm standing over Louisiana right now," Amy said, amused as she looked at the houses looking tiny from afar.

He chuckled. "That isn't the best of it, look up," he replied as he directed over to the sun that was beginning to set. She was awed. It was like she was close to this big orange ball, that was still quite apart.

"Breathtaking," she said and he smiled as he slipped his hand on her waist.

"It is," he responded as they watch the sun set and then go down behind the city. "Now, it becomes more beautiful," he added as the city's lights came up, making it look exotic.

"This is beautiful," she awed.

"Not as beautiful as you are," he replied and she turned to him. He lifted her chin and leaned forward to her when his phone rang, startling them both and ruining the moment.

He cursed underneath his breath and contemplated on if he should pick the call. "You should take that, it must important," Amy said to him.

He groaned and finally took out the phone from his suit without looking at the caller ID. "Yes?" He said into the phone.

"Where is Amy? I've been ringing her non stop!" Kayla yelled into the phone so loudly that he had to pull the phone away from his ear.

"It's Kayla," he said to Amy with a perplexed look.

She took the phone away from him. "Kayla, baby, what's up, girl?" She tried to cajole her.

"That try that with me right now. Tris has been asking of you. Where are you?" She demanded.

"Jeez, Tris. I almost forgot. I'm on my way, " Amy responded.

"Don't you dare hang.. " Kayla was saying, but Amy had already hanged up.

She turned to Cole. "Come on, we have to leave now," she said, handing his phone over to him.

"Alright," he replied and together they walked over to the car.

"Won't you come in?" Amy asked as she stood in front of the house, dropping the food bags in her hands.

"Tomorrow. Tris must be asleep now and Kayla probably hates me the more for keeping you out late," he responded.

"It's fine," she replied with a smile. "Good night," she said and turned to leave, he pulled her back.

"Won't you give a proper good night?" He asked sheepishly as he pulled her closer to himself.

"Which is?" She inquired chuckling.

"A kiss," he responded.

"You've had enough kisses for today," she said, placing her hands on his shoulders with a smile.

"Just one kiss," he leaned his lips closer. "Kayla ruined the last one," he added.

"And I'll keep ruining more," Kayla said from the door, disrupting them. In shock and surprise, they pulled away from each other.
