Chapter 4: Chapter 4
"I think this is enough, Cole. You've already taken too much," Liam said, trying to take away his bottle of alcohol, but Cole wouldn't let him.
"Let me drink, Liam! My life is ruined already! All of my youth has been taken away from of my recklessness!! What's the point of being sober?! I want to drink to stupor!" He said and yelled to the bartender to give him some more vodka, but from Liam's pleading eyes, the bartender knew not to bring him any more alcohol.
"Look, Cole. Having a child is not as bad as it seems. I think you're exaggerating. Yes, I know you did a mistake, but the deed has been done. There's no use killing and beating yourself up over spilled milk," he said, trying to console his friend.
"I was finally out of this damn city, Liam. I was just about to start my life afresh. I wanted to start over so bad, and it was finally coming to realization. I wanted to get away from all the troubles of this city. Everything in this city was a constant reminder that was never going to be a normal kid. This one good thing was finally coming my way, but this Shantel bitch snatched hope away from me," Cole said in a tired and shaky voice as he took down another shot of alcohol.
Liam grew silent and pitied his best friend. He knew how much Cole wanted to leave Louisiana. He wasn't associated with anything good and although he had mastered the art of seeming to not give a fuck, it was taking a toll on him. Things were finally coming to realization for him when his father gave him the go-ahead to start a new life in New York. He began to see hope in Cole's eyes. Cole began to smile more often, when he was finally set to leave. But at the news of his girlfriend getting pregnant, Mr. Darrel forced him back to Louisiana.
He was back to the dark tunnel he'd been trying to run away from.
"What if we talk to your dad? Maybe he would..."
"When he's only this level, no amount of pleading can get him to change his mind, even if it's the president pleading with him. His mind is made up,"
"If only he knew what you've been going through..."
"Oh, he does. He has a hint of what happening to me, but he doesn't seem to care. I'm doomed, Liam," Cole muttered as he downed another glass of alcohol.
Suddenly, loud cheers rose from behind them. The bartender explained that it was midnight, so they were about to know their mates, but Liam and Cole couldn't care less about whatever was happening.
"You know that it was through drink sex that you had raw sex with Shantel and impregnated her. You don't want to make another stupid mistake, do you? You need to stop drinking," Liam warned him, but he was already far gone.
"Wait here, let me go get the car ready so you can go home," said and left him at the counter.
Cole began to feel oddly cold, but he ignored it, as he assumed that it was the alcohol, and continued drinking.

Amy looked around, her eyes filled in hurt and determination. She was hurt from the way Jeremy just dragged her in the mud, and determined to get over the hurt with someone else.
"It's midnight!! Let's celebrate!!" A small group at one corner of the party cheered.
She looked around for any person she could get on tonight, and her eyes suddenly got fixed on a lonely figure drinking himself to stupor at the small bar.
She didn't know if it was the hurt, but she felt some kind of way as she stared at him.
As if he felt her eyes on him, he took a sharp turn and faced her.
They locked eyes for a moment, and it looked like time came to a solid standstill. Through the noise, through the blaring music and the flashing light, she could her his rapid heartbeat. She didn't know how, but she quickly realized that hers own beating at the exact same space. The scent of oud wood and spicy musk filled her senses.
As they stared at each other, it looked like they were the only ones in the room. The area that was once filled with filled with so many people was empty, and the only thing holding them apart from distance. This was the longest Amy had held eye contact with someone.
Cole couldn't understand the sudden connection he had with the oddly pretty looking stranger. They made eye contact, and it looked like she'd cast a spell on him. He wasn't able to take his eyes of her. His mind had made him oblivious of the noise and people present in the party, and suddenly, everywhere became so silent that he could hear their synchronized heartbeat.
He wanted to blame the alcohol, but he'd honestly never been this sober before.
Never in his entire life had he thought that he cold feel so cold and so warm at the same time. Her scent of vanilla and Jasmine filled his nostrils from across the room. His wolf danced in delight. Mate!
"What's going on?", He muttered.
"I... I don't know," she stammered, their eyes still locked.
Despite the fact that they were literally at both ends of the room, they could hear themselves clearly.
She came closer to him, and got up from the his seat.
They slowly began to approach each other, and they were soon face to face with each other.
They held hands, and they both felt different sparks light up in them. They both heard their wolves howl in aura of love.
"You're... You're my mate," Cole's wolf said.
There was a hazel spark in Amy's eyes.
"You are my mate," Amy's wolf replied.
Seeing that this could be her perfect revenge plan on Jeremy, she pulled her mate's hand towards the direction of one of the rooms in the house. After all, he was not just anybody, he was her mate. A mate she didn't know his name, but who cares?
They got upstairs, away from all the noisy party.
Down the hall, there was an empty room.
They got in and shut the door. They locked eyes again, and Amy proceeded to kiss him first and he held her as they locked lips passionately.
