Chapter 25: Chapter 25
"My son is missing!!" Amy screamed in horror as she bashed into Liam's office.
Liam looked startled by the sudden outburst. "What did you say?"
"My son... His school called and told.me that he's missing,"
"Wait a minute... You have a son?"
"Yes, I do. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just that information wasn't important."
Liam tried to keep his cool together.
"And what did they say happen to the boy?"
"Thy called an said he was missing. He went with the rest of the students for an excursion at the zoo. They just called and told me that he's nowhere to be found"
"What?! What kind of incompetence was that?! Why would they let a young lad to get lost in the zoo?! They should be sued to court for incompetence and emotional damages-"
"Liam, all I need from you now is permit me to go to the zoo they're at. Please, I need to get search for my son, buy I can't just leave without your permission, so please-"
"You came to ask for permission? You need to go search for your son? Leave the building and go look for him right now!" Liam made it look more like an order than a permission.
She thanked him and left the office immediately.
"So Amy has a child?"
To say he wasn't surprised by this was a blatant lie. He never would've guessed that she had a son, especially considering the fact that she didn't look anything like someone who'd given birth. In fact, she almost looked same way she looked back in highschool before disappearing.
Did...
Did it mean she wasn't single?
Or was she a single mum?
Even if she was single, would she want to venture into the dating world, now that she had child.
He groaned in pain as his questions gave him some headache.
He should've thought about these things before thinking of asking her out. With the information he had now, he couldn't help but think that he's chances of being with Amy very slim.
"You dummy," he cussed himself.
His mind trailed to the conversation he had earlier in the day with Cole. Here he was, chastising the zookeepers abd teachers in charge of Amy's son, while his best friend stole at child from school.
What a hypocrite he was.
Plus, how coincidental was it that Amy was look for son at the same time Cold stole Tris and took him on a park date?
His throbbing head warned him not to have one more thought, or it would blow up.
***
The zookeepers were waiting for her at the gate of the building, but she went through them like a cannon going through a rotten door. She ignored all their pleas to let them explain.
She matched up the stairs, her eyes darting right and left in every possible corner, hoping she would see her son somewhere.
From floor to floor; from section to section, she saw no sign of her son.
She finally caught a glimpse of the teacher with the rest of the students, and with a laser-focused glare, she charged at him.
The zookeepers tried to stop her, she was too fast for them.
Teacher saw the look of death on her face as she pranced at him and he tried to retreat, but it didn't help.
Amy caught a hold of him and dragged him his shirt.
"Where is my son?! Where the hell is son?!" She questioned, her eyes red with rage and tears.
"Ma'am, please calm down and let's settle this amicably-"
She dragged him by the shirt and pin him against the rails that separate them from the pythons and cobras.
"Where is my son?! How can you tell me to call down?!! My son is missing and telling me to calm down?!! Where do you keep my son?!! Provide my son!! Provide him now!!"
While the children were led away from the eyesore drama, the zookeepers begged her to let him go. Mr. Paul had already pissed in his pants and was crying like a baby, begging her to let go of him, so he wouldn't fall into the snakes' area.
It took a lot of time and a lot of pleading to get Amy's hands off Mr. Paul. She resorted to crying, while he thanked the Moon Goddess that he was alive.
"What have you people done with my son? He's all I have... Why did you people take him away from me? Where is my son?" She cried.
They tried to console her, but she wouldn't have any of it.
Soon they went in search of her son. They began searching for Tris from section to section.
Any joined them too, and her eyes fell on the crocodile section.
Something was different about the area, so she called one of the zookeeper's attention.
"Yes ma'am?"
"The water that the crocodiles are in... Why is it red?" She asked
The zookeeper took a good look at the water.
It looked like blood was poured into the water.... Or as if someone had just died in it.
"Ma'am, I'm sure is not want you think-"
"My son is dead!! My son is dead!! The crocodiles have eaten my son!!" She yelled as she screamed as she held her chest in new found pain.
The zookeepers gathered to console her and beg her not to lose hope, but tears came falling down her eyes.
The one thing she was living for had left her in this world. How was she going to live?
Her heart was broken in pieces at the sight of the bloody water.
How was she-
"He's here! He's here!! Tris is here!!"
Everyone turned to the direction of the boy who was jumping in excitement at the monkey section.
Gideon, Tris's best friend was waving at them, telling them to come over.
They rushed to the section, Amy reaching there first.
She stormed into the section and there he was... Her son, playing with the baby monkeys.
"Tris!!" She ran over to him and hugged him so tight.
"I thought you'd left me," she sobbed, as a mix of shock and relief washed over her system.
"I'm never going to leave you mum," he said with all innocence.
"I know, I know. And I'll never leave you, too. I'll always be with you, and I'll always love you, hmm?" She promised and cupped his face in her hands before smiling and hugging him tight again.
