Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Legaxy
When I reached home, I found the family all crowding up the living room.
They look so happy and at peace, making me feel like I was
The boys live here again, together with their REDs whom I should mention now are all pregnant.
Even the cheeky Rain was pregnant…
The Hue Kingdom, as per their laws, doesn't allow a married couple to stay at theirs which leads the men to reside here again.
And yes, they were all married…
Mum was the first one to have seen my presence and seeing my guard was up, she approached me causing the room to go quiet.
“Is there something wrong, baby?” She asked and I pressed my lips together, trying to find the right words to say.
“Do you know, who I really am?” I blurted out the question that all of them stilled.
I was about to ask again when Dad stop me.
“Come here, Princess.” he motioned me to sit beside him on the sofa and that's what I did.
Mum followed and sat next to me, resulting in me being sandwich by Dad and Mum.
“Princess, all the things that we have told you before, were true, ” Dad started and took my hand for him to squeeze, “We honestly don't know anything about your past, sweetie. As we have said before, we found you mindlessly walking through our feeding grounds and since you don't know anything about that, you were almost got killed” — I noticed Seth flinched — “by one of your brothers.”
“But that doesn't mean you didn't do a background check on me.” I stated with a frown, “I know how you work Papa, you don't allow people to join your clan unless otherwise, it benefits you.”
“We did, Princess. But all we found was false leads and dead ends.” Dad responds with a frown.
“We don't have any idea who you were in the past, baby.” Mum sighs and squeezed my other hand, “That's why we took you in, so you could have a new life.”
“There must be something that you have found out about me,” I whined as I stood up from my seat, “Maybe an address, a place of birth, a name maybe?” I rapid-fires them and my parents only shook their head in a NO.
I was about to leave when my brothers stopped me.
“Actually,” I heard Howard starts that I turned.
“We have something.” Axel turned to look at Seth.
My gaze followed and found Seth writing something on paper. When he was done, he gave it to me.
I looked at it and it only says, “Nalaese Marie Snow?” I asked with a wrinkled forehead.
Seth nodded.
“That's your real name,” he told, “We found that on your dress… it was tagged there,” he added.
“Did you searched for this,” I stared at him, “to know if it's true?”
Seth shook his head in a NO.
“I tried once, but I came out with none,” he replied, with a frown.
“We tried doing it too, though we have a lot of trainings to attend to,” Howard stated with a frown of his own.
“And seminars to follow.” Axel finishes with a sigh, “We are sorry, Flower. We couldn't have helped you with this.” his apology was genuine that my eyes water.
“That's alright,” I said and flashed them a small smile, “I will take it from here,” I added and left.
And that's mostly what my days were…
Trying to do my best to find answers to questions, putting pieces of puzzles together to see if they fit, and piles of leads to follow-through.
Though whatever I do, I couldn't find anything — all were directing me to a dead-end, and after dead end that it was starting to drain me.
I am tired, both physically and mentally…
“You look like shit.” Ms. Dawn said as she stirs her rum with coke.
“Well, thank you so much.” I retort and she laughs.
“But seriously, Dyme. You look like one of those zombies casts on the walking dead and world war z,” she starts, and she strokes my hair — a habit she had attained after seeing me on white locks, “you should rest a bit.” she finishes.
When I stared at her, she plastered a worried expression on her face.
“I can” — I yawned — “still do this, Ms. Dawn. Besides, it's the hotel's 4th anniversary, I can't leave you — ”
“Oh shut the hell up and go eat something,” she interrupted me with a roll of her eyes, “your stomach's been growling for food for the last five minutes now.”
I was about to oppose her when she gave me the, ‘Don't you dare defy me’ look.
Seeing that she was serious now, I nodded my head and headed to the tables where the food was.
There was no line to the banquet at the second so I took my time scanning the food until I felt a tall presence beside me.
I already know who it was that I ignore it and gave in to my stomach's protest for food when a hand snaked towards my cheeks, making me lookup.
There, I found a frowning Theo.
“You don't look so good, love,” he mutters and caresses the bags that were under my eyes.
I swatted his hand away and scrunched up my nose at him.
“I am fine, Theo.”
His frown deepened.
“You are not fine, little one.” he grumbles, “you look stress and drained. What seems to be bothering you?” he asked, his hand dropped to cup my cheeks.
I roll my eyes at him.
“Do not ask me, Theo, when you already know the truth. You've been sneaking around, asking my brothers about it.” I frowned and he chuckles.
“I'm sorry, love but I found you so busy lately… I can't even get you to say yes to another date with me. So, I thought I'd asked them for some enlightenment.” he half whined, half reasoned with me that I scoff.
“You're really not good with space, aren't you?”
He chuckles again and placed both his hands in his pockets.
“I guess I am,” he sighs and his face turned serious, “though love, why didn't you ask for my help for this?” he asked, he sounded genuinely dishearten.
I snorted.
“Theo, for the past month that we have been dating, you should know by now that I don't ask for help — ”
“Unless otherwise, you need it.” he finishes for me, “but that doesn't count when you have me. Now, tell me, what do I need to do?”
“Excuse me?”
He rolled his eyes.
“You heard me, love, I want to help you.”
I glared at him.
“Your help is not needed, Theo. So stop interrupting me because I am hungry and going to — hey, give that back!” I yell as he took my plate from me and started piling it up with food — whom he knows is my favorite.
“I will help you love and whether you like it or not, I will be providing support for you.” he says and flashed me a smile, “you have me and even if you don't admit it, you needed the assistance. You've been searching for weeks and you still have no answers.”
I scowled at him, but he was right, I really needed the help…
So with a sigh, I nodded at Theo and he beamed. Then, he continued filing up my plate.
Then, at a table by the corner of the ballroom, near one of the exits, Theo and I talked about the investigation I have gone through myself.
He did comment that it would really take some time because there are no clues to look at, other than the name and there's not even a record found within that name.
“It's alright, love. We could uncover something here even if it's just your name. It just needed more time and a lot of resources.” Theo explains and I sighed.
“And a lot of effort too. But thank you for the help, Theo. I really appreciate it.” I said and flash him a smile.
He smiled back and after a second, Theo's eyes dropped to my lips.
“Little one,” he whispers and I stilled.
No, he's not doing it.
He leans closer, his eyes still on my lips.
“I know it's too soon but — ”
“No, Theo.” I blurted the answer and took my leave only to be pulled back by Theo and he kissed me.
⁂Theo
I watched as my little Legaxy pick her food around the banquet.
For the past month that we have been dating, I found myself in a place that I never thought I could be in again.
Legaxy made me happy and like Casmine, she completed me.
It was like falling in love all over again, with the same face and body, but with a different personality — it was beautiful.
However, it didn't go unnoticed by me that even if I did make her happy, she was still a bit distant.
She was not as open as I would have liked her to be…
Not that I am complaining but it was difficult to get her to agree to me at some parts of the relationship.
I'm not even sure what her preferences when it comes to rings or themes to marriage…
Currently, we are discussing the condition of her search and when she found nothing, it kinda makes me happy.
I wanted to be the one to know everything about her. Especially on the idea if she's the Alpha King's mate or not.
I needed to know so I will have a plan to overthrow my competitor and have Little Legaxy all to myself.
“I know I should be more patient about this, but this is about me, Theo. The real life I once owned, so call me desperate but I badly needed to know this,” she stated and I saw the sadness creeping in her already tired eyes.
I hated seeing her be like this so I took one of her hands and squeezed it for comfort.
“It's alright, love.” I flashed her a smile, “We could uncover something here even if it's just your name. It just needed more time and a lot of resources.” I explain and she sighs.
“And a lot of effort too. But thank you for the help, Theo. I really appreciate it.” she said and flash me her heavenly smile.
I almost swoon but I fight it off and smiled back at her.
And then I felt it, that sudden urged to kiss her so I dropped my gaze to her lips.
“Little one,” I huskily whisper and I noticed her stilled.
For what reason, I don't know.
Still, I lean closer to her while keeping my gaze on her full lips.
When was the last time I actually kiss an angel like her?
Years,
Ten long years…
I do admit that I had kissed other women but it was out of need while this — this is out of love and I'm willing to give my all for just one taste of her.
“I know it's too soon but — ” I started only to be interrupted by her.
“No, Theo. No, you can't.” she blurted out that I saw red.
Never in my life had someone told me NO before and that being the case, I grabbed Legaxy's hand, and finally — even if it was forced, I had a taste of heaven.
