Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Legaxy

I groaned as I felt a throbbing pain in my neck.

It was not the usual discomfort from stiff necks, but more of trauma from being hit by something hard or injected by something sharp.

It's sore and it stings once touched.

I jerked my hand, the right one that absentmindedly went up to try and soothe the pain, away from my neck, and struggled my way to sit on the bed.

That's when I realized, I was at the resort's clinic.

Great!

I must have injured myself from doing the protocol earlier. Though, what kind of harm came my way?

Let alone, how did I attain one?

I gently touched my neck again and fleeting memories from before flickered inside my brain.

No…

Freaking,

Way!

My eyes widened like saucers and my heart pounded like I ran a race as the recollection; from me examining the features of the God-like man from the lobby up to seeing those eyes that melted my bones, flashes one by one in front of my mind.

The hell!

I didn't just let myself be enticed by the Alpha King's beauty but I was also attracted to it.

Not to mention, I ogle at him… Like literally look at him in a desiring way!

Now he'll think of me as if I was somewhat a weirdo or a stalker.

That's creepily embarrassing!

I buried my face in my hands, attempting to scream my humiliation on my palms when locks of my hair fell to the sides of my face.

I gasped.

I battled my way out through the sheets of the clinic's bed and instantly look for a mirror, thinking that my vision was deceiving me.

I know Rain has this body length of a mirror here, somewhere in this space.

When I finally found it tucked in the corner of the room, I dashed towards it and quickly assessed my reflection.

My mouth dropped in shock.

Hair.

My long… inky black hair,

It turned into white… Literally white as snow.

No, exactly like snow.

What. The. Hell.

I wanted to scream, yell, thrash my surprise out but I just stood still — so stunned and stupefied while gaping at myself.

How did this happen?

What kind of magic trick is this?

Who did this!

Am I being cursed or something?

If so, what did I do to deserve this?

Answers.

I wanted one so badly right now…

But whom shall I ask?

Whom will I ran into just to get an explanation for this!

That's when I remember, my family…

Yes, them!

My body trembled as the shock of the occurrence left my body and was replaced with anxiety on the notion of how I will tackle this situation.

But first, I needed to get out of here.

FAST!

With quick thinking, I headed out of the back door of the clinic, the one that Rain told me has a hallway that could lead me to the exit of the hotel.

She said once, it was rarely used because the owner of the resort's office was there, on one of the doors.

Presently, I am just fast walking towards the end of the hallway when I felt a presence behind me.

I immediately turned — too much adrenaline rush from my tension — and saw a curious Theo.

“Dyme?” he sounds unsure.

Who wouldn't?

He knows I have black hair and here I was, white hair and all.

Though, what caught his attention was the fact that I was hurrying away from the clinic door with my heels on my hands and a hint of stress on my face.

He shot me a worried look.

“Are you going home?” he asked, gracefully approaching me.

I bobbed my head fast, eager to escape these four walls.

Theo chuckled and lifted his hand and reached out towards me.

He then waited.

When I didn't understand what he meant, as I tilted my head to the side, he rolled his icy blue eyes and, with gentle movements, took my hand in his.

Oh!

He wanted to hold my hand…

Then, without another word, he pulled me towards the direction of the exit which I may say, was a difficult path to remember unless your memory is that sharp and your good with directions.

When we got out of the resort, my body suddenly felt heavy and relatively weak. This feeling of longing and pain came then, making me question if I forgot something important inside the establishment that my body was urging me to go back inside to get it.

Theo, who noticed my trouble tugged my hand and positioned me to face him. He then took a lock of my now white hair and fiddle with it.

“I must say, Dyme, you look much beautiful in white hair than in black.” he muses and I scowled.

“You're like Seth, my brother… always hating my black locks.” I shifted my face to the side to sulk, only to be pulled back by Theo.

He flashed me a small smile and I saw how his icy blue eyes were sparkling with amusement.

“I do not hate the black locks, little one,” he starts, and in quiet motion, he tucked the hair behind my ear, “I actually adore it. Though you in white hair is somewhat fascinating to me… you mesmerized me.” he finishes in a whisper that I blushed.

Finding no wits to say after hearing such sweet words from this man, we continued walking until we reached the parking lot.

Theo, for some unknown reason, fascinates me that it stuns me.

He has the built of a male model, a face of a true gentleman, and a height of a giant — well, not in the literal sense but he is tall, gifted with a couple of inches from me.

And his eyes… those icy blue eyes that make you blush even by just a glimpse.

However, behind that beauty, I know, there lies danger… A hint of evil no human should know or learn of.

Trust me, I know because not all men trained and are working for Dad is that sugary nice.

Rather, they are all deadly.

Out of nowhere, as we were near Theo's car, he pulled me closer and, instinctively, looked into my eyes.

His eyes held admiration and affection that I almost swoon — ALMOST for I felt an abrupt feeling to run away.

For what reason, I don't possibly know, and before I could even ponder on it, the face of the Alpha King flashed in my mind.

I missed the hazel eyes…

Wait, what now?

Shortly after, a suspicion got me thinking…

I eyed the blonde man for a second until I realized what I actually wanted to inquire of.

“Why are you here, Theo?” I asked, making him stop on his tracks as he was opening the door of his black Bugatti for me.

Since I forgot my bag at the office, wherein my phone was, Theo so politely asks to take me home.

At first, I didn't agree and asked for his phone instead so I could make a call to my dad.

Now, this was the weird part…

Theo did give me his phone and once I called dad, told him what happened and now I was with his Captain, he clearly advised me to take Theo's invitation and ride with him.

When I asked why he can't come and pick me up, he vaguely gave me an answer about being busy and he was doing something important.

It was suspicious yet I reluctantly agreed to it.

And now, here I am, with Theo who was frozen solid on performing a gentleman effort. He then turned and for the first time, since I laid my eyes on this man, he looked nervous.

“Ah, about that. You see, I was just trying to… was wondering if… I came to check… to see if…” he stuttered, making me smile.

“Pause and breathe, Theo,” I advised and he did.

When he was about to say something, a male voice came out of nowhere, interrupting him and surprising me.

“Vampire King! It's an honor… what suddenly brings you here?” the male voice said and when I snapped my head in the man's direction, I realized it was Mr. Heinz.

He smiled at Theo, while Theo shot him a death glare.

Sir Heinz's face turned into a frown and when he found me standing between Theo and his car, his forehead wrinkled in question.

His observation was cut short when Theo pushed me inside of his car. Then, with an apologetic smile, he told me to stay inside.

Finally, he left and took his time talking to Mr. Heinz.

He didn't take long and he was back with me, sitting in the driver's seat. He looked more nervous than before when I squinted my eyes at him.

“Talk.” I asserted, much like commanded and it's so bizarre for me to do this because he is a King.

But he lied to me. And I never liked people when they lied to me…

Theo sighed and started explaining to me his reasons, including the story about him losing his RED — Casmine to old age. Then, the fact that he was the owner of the Mallow Hotel, and finally, his reason for coming here.

After his statement, we were near my home and I was speechless.

“I know it's not easy to take in and I'm moving way too fast to your liking, but I am never been sure in my life, little one. I want you and I'll do this the right way by courting you if that makes you feel better,” he stated and I felt him placing his hand on top of my fidgeting ones.

He then squeezed it.

I bit my lips as I thought about this.

Should I?

He did ask my family first — a gentleman move, and knowing that they said yes to him, makes me feel like I should say the same and accepted his request.

Not to mention, he didn't pressure me to be his girlfriend or anything — unlike the guys at the hotel.

He even said he was willing to court me — a traditional way of seeking affections from a woman.

So maybe I should give him that chance…

Though, why do my heart aches?
