My fingers were tapping the desk way too fast that if this continues, and with the right amount of pressure, I might leave a crack.

Much less, break the porcelain table down into halves.

I'm not really a patient man, nor tolerant…

I value my time and effort, and if I wanted to accomplish something, I make sure I finished it off within the day.

However, today, I only achieved half of my desired agenda…

Everything was taking too long to fulfill, way too long for my liking that every cell in my body was getting agitated.

I let out a quiet sigh.

What's taking her so long?

I needed to talk to her already, and to know that the discussion was very important, my impatience intensified inside of me.

It was ready to burst —

No.

I should not be like this.

I should be able to control this, should get my mind clear and stable, or I'll scare the little one away before she could even listen to what I was about to say.

Stay calm.

Do not let the devil out.

I let out another sigh, making sure that I let out my frustration and impatience as well.

Yeah, calm…

Today, I needed to be composed and gentle for this, for I will be asking Legaxy Dyme to be my Chosen RED.

It's like second chance mates for werewolves, though here, we chose who we see fit. And I know, last night, when my eyes landed on little Legaxy that she was the ONE.

It is too fast, I could see that, but I have that strong pull towards the human and I live long enough to know what that pull was.

It was the RED's magic pull; the one that guides us when we are RED matching…

That being said, I started my morning asking — much like begging, and yes, I really did that — Legaxy's whole family for their blessing in my courtship.

Jacob, who already know about my motives, casually agreed to it.

As for Margaret and the men, Legaxy's dedicated Mother and brothers, they freaked out so badly that I had to voice out my reasons first for the courtship and blessing before my purpose for the unexpected visit to their home.

Still, that wasn't enough.

Their concerns and discomfort were understandable at that second, but to have them pinned me up at one of the walls of their home, asking me if I was joking or needed to see a doctor for my hallucination, was another sense of protection and devotion from them.

That confirmed my belief that thy family truly love the girl…

Thankfully, and seeing my call of desperation, Jacob aided me to get them all to settle down.

For the next hour, I pleaded my request to them and after another two, they finally approved my plea and gave me their blessing.

Talk about having them for in-laws…

After the conversation with the family, I drove to Mallow Hotel where Legaxy worked — and surprisingly, I was the owner of — in a quest to ask her regarding my wooing.

And trust me when I say I will not take a NO for an answer from her…

Though, my mission was cut short when I learned, from one of the guards, that she was in the middle of doing a protocol.

Werewolves, I acknowledged.

They were a constant concern to this business. I do admit I should have done something to ban their presence at the resort but for the sake of co-existence and harmony, I still permitted them to stay.

I am already tired of wars…

So I would rather choose to experience the wolf mens' almost everyday troubles, which were far more bearable, compared to the wars for freedom and superiority with them.

I let out another sighed and checked my gold watch for the hundredth time today.

‘4:31,’ it says.

Legaxy was gone for almost thirty minutes, so it was safe to say that I have the right to demand her presence now.

Apart from that, I can't seem to sit still anymore in this chair.

When I was about to stand from the plush black chair, and leave the comfort of this office, I sense a presence behind my door.

It knocked with power and when I told it to come in, Jada, my Security Manager and also, one of my trusted human warriors, strode inside the room.

Shortly, I caught the look on her face.

She looks stressed and wide awake like she just had witnessed a person died.

My body stilled with that assumption…

“What happened?” my voice creaked from worry.

Jada, surprised by my sudden tone of concern, eyed me questioningly.

I felt annoyed about this and since my impatience was at its highest, I growled at the young woman to provide me an answer.

She physically flinched but kept her eyes on me when she started to speak and report.

“The Alpha King went bloodlust… almost choked one of our employees to death. Thank God for Ms. Dyme! She, well, she got him to calm down. In return, the girl” — she sighed — “went into a shock… she was traumatized.”

I instantly stood up from my chair and slammed my hands on the table; It cracked in impact.

I didn't care and kept my eyes on the black-headed woman, asking in a pained voice, “How is she?”

“Ms. Dyme is stable, according to Ms. Isle. She has not sustained any serious injury whatsoever…” Jada informed while squinting her eyes at me.

Hearing that, I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

Jada, absentmindedly, tilted her head in wonder now.

“What?”

“All these years I have been working for you, ” Jada started while crossing her arms in front of her chest, “never did I actually seen you react this way.”

I wrinkled my forehead, not comprehending what she was saying.

“I do not understand what you are saying, Jada Alanoe Lynn. Speak clearly.” I simply instructed, leading her to only smirk at me.

“You never cared for a girl, let alone give attention to one.” she commented and took a step forward to my desk, “In fact, you stayed away from females, both mortals, and supernatural beings because you hated our boldness nor nonsense attitude.” she paused and eyed me intently as if she was reading my soul.

I stared back at her, the same intense look in my eyes.

She paused and I knew from there, my eyes changed color. However, as quick as the trance appeared, it goes as Jada snapped out of it soon after with a blink and started scrutinizing me again.

This time, she looked serious…

“Tell me, Vampire King,” she tilted her head to the other side, “You like the girl, aren't you?”

Best just to tell her.

She wasn't part of my security team when the Red Moonball was announced to proceed and when I met Legaxy.

Moreover, even if she was invited to the said occasion last night, she couldn't find it in her to leave her hotel responsibilities to her associates.

She was that serious and committed to her job, making me feel guilty at the moment since I was the one who assigned her there.

“Yes, I do,” I told her.

She nodded her head in respect but her smug look vanished the second I confessed. And in its place was the look of genuine concern.

“You don't approve?” I inquired and she quickly shook her head in denial.

“It's not that I don't approve, Your Majesty. It's just that, I care too much for the girl.” she paused and stood proud in front of me, “Acee, she's been with us for almost four years, and within that time, she's the only employee who never brought an ache to my head, let alone cause trouble… you know, how I adore people like those.”

Jada halted and gave me a gentle smile, a hint of how real her words our.

That got me thinking that everyone Legaxy knew, either adores or loves her.

Like Casmine…

So, am I right in choosing to court her?

Was she that worth it?

“She's that lovable?” I couldn't help but admire.

Jada nodded, beaming now.

“Yes, she is.”

‘She is,’ I half repeated and half confirmed to myself.

“Though I must warn you, Your Highness. She may be a… challenge.” Jada stated, raising a hand to scratch the back of her neck.

“Challenge? What do you mean by that?”

“Well, upon doing the protocol a while ago, I couldn't help but observed the Alpha King's actions towards her…” the black-headed woman explains, eyes distant as she recollects the incident from earlier.

From there, I already understand what she means, resulting in me feeling uneasy.

‘They are not mates,’ I chanted to comfort myself.

Now, my uneasiness shoots up to my chest. It didn't help when my annoyance unexpectedly bursts inside of me, filling my body with rage.

Hell…

“Did you confirmed if they were mates?” I promptly questioned Jada, my knuckles turning white from anger.

Jada was quick to notice that; she physically gulps.

“We're still investigating that, Sire. We all honestly recall that the Alpha King's mate was dead, three years ago…” she stated and I felt the sudden urge to kill something.

This should not be happening…

I already found the one and to learn that she may be that Dog's mate, made me feel very worried and quite stress.

And it is not a good idea when I am stress because the devil inside of me goes hungry…

I hardly swallowed when my eyes dropped down to Jada's neck.

I needed blood.

“Jada Alanoe Lynn,” I started strongly, “I needed to feed. Are you willing?” I added softly in a question.

Jada, knowing the drill, only nodded her agreement and exposed her neck to me.

Like the speed of light, I stood behind her. She only jumped when she felt my fingers running up and down her slender neck.

Jada, may not look like it, but she is a stunning woman with black hair and light green eyes.

Despite the loose shirt and pants, her physique is curvy and tone. I know this because I have seen this once, before — don't ask why or how now.

Anyway, Jada — now under my enchantment spell, tilted her head, further exposing her creamy white neck to me.

“Do as you must, Your Majesty,” she coquettishly declared.

I only licked her neck in response.

She instantly moaned.

“This will be your mission sweetheart, DO NOT forget about it. Know the truth about Legaxy and the Alpha King, learn if they are once mates. I don't care if you uncover dark secrets along the way, all I care about is her…” I gently ordered while again, caressing her neck with my fingertips.

Likewise, she shivered and that made my inner devil smirked.

“Yes, Vampire King.” she breathlessly agreed.

I nodded my acknowledgment and slowly nuzzle my face on her neck.

“I do not wish to have any competition with my chosen RED. You know how I am when it comes to competition,” I continued while inhaling her scent, “I kill them, slowly and surely Jada.” I added, letting my breath hit her neck.

She moaned once again, and I felt her legs go weak.

“Do remember this for me, will you sweets?” I snaked my hand around her body to get a nice grip of her for once I bite, they always faint.

Jada, correspondingly, shivered for the third time.

My smirk widened.

“Legaxy Hailey Dyme will be your new Queen. My decision on choosing her as my RED is final, and soon enough, she will be my wife.” I lengthened my fangs, and before I bite, deep down on her neck, I declared, “She's mine!”
