Chapter 178: Chapter 178

Alpha's Hated Mate

Camilla's POV

I spent the day with Ashanti, Tamina and Liam. Arielle and Ryan had gone out somewhere. Liam kept asking me where his baby was. I had to explain over a hundred times that she'd have loved to see him but she had a play date with someone else.

Despite being there, my mind would slip back to Midnight Saints, I know I can trust Adrian with my daughters and Belle is there too but I kept wondering if they were okay, especially Karla, an environment with Angel isn't exact pleasant for her, it makes her uncomfortable, but she likes Midnight Saints, she loves having cousins.

Before I left Dark Moon, I helped put Liam to bed before and made sure to steal a dozen cupcakes of Arielle's for the children. Surprisingly, Tee was at Dark Moon too, she was letting her parents meet Arieya's best friend. Although Arieya is now overly occupied with Adrian, I have a feeling Tee's daughter and her are a lifelong relationship, not just because they're cousins.

I grabbed a ride with Tee and the little princess, who unlike Arieya, is quiet and calm. I had to confess to Tee just what I've been up to with Adrian and how it doesn't sit right with me. King doesn't seem to mind us, he likes watching me orgasm but the threesome we had at Adrian's birthday, left us all in an awkward place.

We can't be in the same room but it has eased up that tension of arguing or sneering at one another. I was too drunk to hold myself up but sober enough to fuck both Adrian and King, all night long. Of course in the morning I pretended I couldn't recall much but I recall it all, I recall how I begged Adrian to degrade me and King praised the shit out of me, both my kinks lived to the fullest that night.

Heading into the pack house, I see Santiago on the sofa, and sit beside him. Only then does he look up from his phone, smiling warmly at me. “Luna, you're back.” he teases.

“Hey, if you're going to call me Luna, put Alpha in front of it.” I feign a pout.

“Does that mean..” he trails off, eyes glimmering with joy.

“I am just joking, there's no way that's happening.” I laugh. “Where is the coward Alpha?”

“It was a tiger Camilla,” he defends, both on his and Adrian's behalf.

“I miss my Lauriana, where is she?” I pout,

“Spending quality time with daddy, I'm jealous, she stole my best friend.”

I nod, “Yep, she's a little thief, she took my teddy.”

Santiago laughs, “I heard.”

I'm explaining to him how unfair it is that both King and Adrian give Arieya everything even if I oppose it when Arieya and Adrian come into view, exiting the kitchen.

“Aww, my sweetheart,” I rise from my seat, running to meet them with my arms wide open. Still, this girl betrays me, and hugs Adrian's legs, making him lift her.

“Traitor,” I grumble, chewing on my bottom lip.

“Arieya and I talked, and we decided that you're only nice when you want to be.”

“What?” I gasp, “You are turning my daughter against me?” I frown, reaching to tickle her.

Arielle giggles, squirming in Adrian's arms and then, I take her, bouncing her on my hip, “There now.” I kiss her cheek. Looking back at Adrian, I snort. “Umm, pink is a really cute color on you.”

“Very feminist move.” Santiago laughs from his sit, both of us now laughing at Adrian's nails.

“Arieya painted my nails when we were taking a nap.” Adrian sighs.

“She played you hard.” I tell him, trying my best not to laugh at the badly done nails.

“They are cute now,” Arieya giggles, resting her head on my shoulder.

“You did such a good job, I'll let you paint mine tomorrow.” I tell her.

“Really Beautiful?” she asks, her hand slipping into my dress.

“Yes but keep your hand out of my bra.” I tell her, setting her down. I wouldn't have noticed it before, but my breasts are particularly sore these past few days, I don't need her toying with them. “Now go get your sister, and auntie so we can go home.”

“Why?” she pouts.

“Because it's time to go,” I tell her.

“I don't want to go, I want to sleepover.” she frowns, tugging at Adrian's jeans.

“Really?” I ask, my gaze veering to Adrian. Did he put her up to this?

“Come on, it's just one night.” Adrian urges.

“Okay, she can sleepover but I can't, Karla and I are heading home.”

“Camilla,” Santiago calls out, “He can't do this without you.”

“He will learn,” I shrug.

“True, but this is the first time Arieya sleeps over, I need your help. What if she wakes up at night crying for you?”

“Yeah right,” I snort. “That wouldn't happen, I'm not the parent she prefers to wake up screaming for, but if she did, you could call me.”

“It wouldn't be the same,” Santiago chimes in. “Plus, I'm sure Karla would like a sleepover with a mini Halsey.”

Ugh, they're ganging up on me.

“Okay,” I said. “I will stay, let me text, King.”

“I love daddy,” Arieya giggles, running into Santiago's lap. “Cutie, I missed you.”

I smile, walking away from the sight of Arieya smoothering her uncle before milking him for everything she can get out of him.

Standing outside the house, I backed Adrian who is staring at me dial Kingston's phone. King is quick to pick up, despite being in a meeting. We take a few minutes to talk, reviewing each other's day and prior activities before he cuts, going back to his work. He has no problem with the kids staying over, all he asks is I don't let Angel anywhere near either one of his girls.

I understand the things going on between them and I won't interfere with them, just as he won't with me and Adrian, those are topics we won't force each other into.

*****

Dinner was great, and eventful, the kids had a lot to say to each other, like they didn't spend all day together.

Mirabelle and Rachael asked me to accompany them on a night out at some new club, but I wasn't in the mood so I declined their offer, and stayed back, helping Adrian with the kids. His mom was absolutely relieved to get some time off from Grandma duty, which lasted about only an hour before Arieya and Tyrone went to disturb her.

I got all Adrian's nieces and nephews washed up for dinner and in their pajamas with Summer's help. At dinner, Adrian and Arieya were undying lovebirds, feeding each other their dinner. It was cute, and after that, Arieya, Zuri, and Ryker wanted to see Frozen so that's what we settled on. It would seem all the kids live for this cartoon, they know all the lines by heart, I don't see why they don't reenact the movie for us instead of watching it over and over again.

“Auntie Mia baby,” Stacey calls out in a whisper.

“Hmm?” I turned to her, my arm draped over her shoulder on my left. She's picked up Mia from Adrian, who can't seem to keep it out of his mouth.

“You look beautiful every time,” she whispers grinning.

“Thank you sweetie,” I say hugging her.

Karla taps my arm, “Mommy, I want water.”

“Okay, let's go.” I tell her, rising from my seat.

“But I can go alone.” she argues.

“I want a drink too, let's go.” I smile, putting out my hand for her.

Karla and I exit the room unnoticed by Adrian and Santiago, who sit holding the two trouble makers around here, Tyrone, and Arieya. When we arrive, I pour her a glass of water, and I grab a bottle of yoghurt for myself.

“Mommy, can I ask you something?”

“Of course,” I sip my yoghurt. “Tell mommy what's bothering you.”

“Alpha Adrian is Hermana's dad right?” She asks, to which I nod. “So then, you're his mate or daddy's?”

I suck in a breath, pulling a chair and sit down with her. “Well, I'm Alpha's Adrians mate.”

“So then why don't you stay here together?”

“Because things didn't work out between us, and I have my own pack that needs me.” I tell her.

“Oh,” her face furrows. “But can't you work things out?”

I take a sip of my yoghourt and sigh, “Umm, you'll understand when you're older okay?”

Karla nods, “Fine, but mommy, I never want to be without you.”

“Honey,” I rub her arm, “You won't be without me. I'll always be here for you my love.”

“And if daddy finds someone,” she pauses, looking over my shoulder. “I don't want to go with him.”

I nod, “I promise I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do, okay mi amor?”

“Yes,” hugs me and I brush her hair.

“I love you,” I tell her, releasing her with a kiss on the head.

“And I love you mommy.” she giggles.

“How much?” I urge, bringing the yoghurt to my lips once again.

Karla smiles, “So, so, soooo very much, but not more than Arieya.”

“I guess that's fair,” I laugh.

“Mommy, I like how you're happy here.”

“I'm always happy with you.” I frown.

Karla shrugs, “Yes but happy with twinkling eyes, I like it a lot mommy.”

Oh my God, is it that obvious? Even to her?

I smirk, “You know what, me too.”

Karla laughs but pauses to look over my shoulder once again. I've noticed her stealing glances there but haven't thought to look into it but now, I'm intrigued.

Looking over my shoulder, I meet some girls stacking dishes, among them Angel. I look at Karla then back at her, she's the one Karla is staring at with a blank expression, one so similar to that of Angel. Till now, I've never related anything about her mannerisms to Angel, but the glare she's giving her, is a definite gene expression from Angel.

“What's wrong baby?”

“I hate her,” Karla instantly blurts out.

“Hey, Karla, don't say that.” I gasp.

“She lied, and yelled at me, and my sister for no good reason, it's wrong right?”

I nod, “But let's forget about it, resentment makes people very bitter. If you start hating people for silly reasons, you'll be no better than them, you'll be just like them.”

Karla shakes her head vigorously, ”No, mommy. I'm sorry, I promise I won't hate anyone, ever. I will always be kind.”

“That's my girl, high five?” I grumble, holding up my hand and she hits it and giggles. “Let's go finish frozen.” I add.

“I know how it ends, I've seen it a thousand times, I want to go to bed now.” she sighs.

“Okay, let's go put you to bed.” I tell her, sure to grab my yoghurt bottle when I get up.

When I turn around to where Angel is, I spot her staring at Karla and I with the same glare Karla gave her earlier.

“Hold my hand, I might fall.” Karla giggles, sneaking her hand in mine.

“You can walk just fine Karla,” I laugh, but still hold her hand.

“I know, but I still want you to hold my hand.” she smiles, watching me toss the now empty yoghourt bottle in the trash before I take her hand again. “Do you know what I miss about learning to walk again after the accident?”

“No, tell me?”

“Holding your hand all the time,” she giggles.

I laugh, a sob caught in my throat, Karla makes me emotional, she's such a sweet little girl. “I will always hold your hand when you need me to.” I tell her, retiring from the kitchen.

Karla and I go straight to the girls bedroom, where I find all the other girls but Arieya sleeping. I giggle and we go back and watch the movie. There's four beds now in this room, as opposed to the two that occupied it earlier. I look at the initials on the beds, L, K, Z and S with little crowns on top of each letter. I didn't know the room had been redecorated but it's nice, I'm sure it was Adrian's doing, he told me he was making sure the girls felt at home here just as they do at Silverline.

When Karla finally falls asleep, I tuck her in, and tuck in Stacey, whose bed is next to Karla before tucking and Zuri in too.

Entering the TV room once again, I find Arieya dosing, with Santiago sleeping on the couch next to her and Adrian.

“I'll take her,” I tap Adrian's shoulder.

“I'll help,” he tells me, rising with her in his arms. I make sure to wake Santiago before following Adrian to the girls bedroom.

“I want to have a tea party,” she pouts, yawning.

Adrian laughs, handing her to me when the door is unlocked, I take her shoes off and lay her down, “We can play all day tomorrow, but right now, you have to sleep.” I tell her, handing her the stuffed animal that she stole from me.“Goodnight Lauriana,” I kiss her cheek.

Arieya grins, “Mommy, can daddy tell me a story?”

“Umm, Arieya, King isn't here. He can tell you a million stories tomorrow, okay?”

Arieya frowns, her lip quivering. “Don't be sad, come on, lay down, let's tuck you in and I'll sing a lullaby.” I cooed.

“I want daddy to do it,” her lip quivers.

“I'll get my phone and call him,” I tell her, rising to check my pockets for my phone.

“No, I want Daddy here.” she cries.

“Arieya.” I warn.

“Daddy,” she sobs, pointing behind me.

I look over to the threshold of the door where Adrian rests. Oh, she meant Adrian. “Daddy Adrian?” I ask softly.

Arieya nods, I look at Adrian and clear my throat to grab his attention, that works perfectly, he looks away from his phone, pocketing it and coming over to us. “Arieya needs you,” I tell him.

“Can you tell me a bedtime story please?” she pouts, “Please daddy?”

“Da-a-daddy?” he gasps, “What did you say?” he asks, smiling from ear to ear.

“Please,” she repeats, forgetting the daddy this time but still, Adrian smiles.

“Please don't wake the other kids, and don't let her talk you into letting her stay up longer.” I tell him, patting him on the back as he takes my spot on her bed.
