Chapter 174: Chapter 174
“Yeah? What is the guarantee?” I ask, pausing a second before nodding at him. “See, exactly, there's none. You were like a child, and I couldn't trust you to raise a kid when you were still one yourself. Babies are not toys, knowing you'd stop giving a damn when you wanted to.”
“Is that what you think of me?”
“You know what? I'm done with this conversation, I'm leaving.” I let out, trying to walk past him but he grips my hand, slamming it over my head, against the door.
“This conversation isn't done.”
“Seems done to me.”
“I'm not like everyone else, you don't scare me Mia.”
“I don't care Alpha Adrian,” I tell him, trying
“You should,” he whispers, his other hand tucking my hair behind my ear. I flinch from his touch and he doesn't miss it. “We came to talk about Arieya but you're fighting with me.”
“I am not fighting with you, and if I wasn't open to letting you in her life, don't you think I'd have gotten rid of you by now?” I smirk.
“You wouldn't dare,” he says, running his finger in my face.
“If you like that finger,” I stare at it down. “You better drop it before I break it and the rest of your fingers.”
“You can't get your way by threatening me, I told you I'm not like everyone else.” he murmurs, his eyes glued to my lips. “You wanna know something? Well..” he trails off, placing his lips on mine. I strive to shove him away with my one good hand but he growls, pulling away. “Stop it,” he warns, kissing me once again.
He tastes like a fresh blend of wine. I suck his bottom lip into my mouth, kissing him back, drinking him up, wanting more, needing more until I can barely breathe but I'm too caught up to pull away from the feel of his lips on mine.
Before I know it, his hand is in my panties, slipping through the wet folds. Only then does my one working brain cell register the situation, shoving Adrian's hand out with an involuntary moan escaping my parted lips. “No,” I tell him.
“Come on, you want this as much as I do.” he grunts.
“I don't want anything,” I gulp, trying to catch my breath.
“Then why are you breathing so heavily? Why are you so wet?” he urges.
“Not that it's any of your business,” I snort. He leans in, his tongue lapping on my cheek. I gasp, my hand twitching to slap him. “Don't play with me.” I tell him, ducking under his arm.
“You are the one playing with me, and I'd rather play with our baby.”
“Well,” I laugh. “I am sure you'll do just fine in that department since you think like a child yourself.”
“I am a man, and you more than anyone knows that, or did you forget, Alpha Camilla.” he whispers, my name trailing off rather smoothly on his tongue.
I giggle nervously, I know he is referring to how much a beggar he turned me into in the bedroom. Folding my arms over my chest, I peer up at him. “I wouldn't be proud of myself if I were you, any imbecile can make a baby and trust me, I've got a better dick.” I grin.
Adrian's smile subsides and he conforms to my gaze, “I want to bond with my daughter.”
“She is not ready for that.” I counter promptly.
Adrian snorts, “What are you waiting for? For my daughter to be so attached to your little boy toy that she wants nothing to do with me?”
I sigh.
How did he go from trying to get into my panties, to fighting with me, all in one second?
“Alpha Adrian, what the fuck do you expect from me? I am giving you the chance to get to know Rieya, don't make me change my mind.” I snap.
“Oh baby, don't raise your voice at me, and don't bring that boyfriend of yours to my pack.”
“If you have a problem with me and King–”
“Fuck that,” he cuts me off. “It's about our daughter, I can't bond with her, when he's around to distract her.”
“Well, that's too bad because I can't take Arieya anywhere without her asking for her dad every three seconds.” I truthfully say.
“Her dad,” he mumbles frantically, that's when I realize who is overpowering the other. “ I'm her dad!” he growls.
“Hunter, no.” I command, watching Adrian's gaze. When it finally switches to him, I speak once again. “Listen, Arieya loves Kingston. Presumably more than she does me, so I'm sorry but he's in my life, and we can't change that for you, you're not special.” I tell him, gripping the door and twisting it open.
“Camilla,” Adrian calls out, and I turn. “If you want me to leave you alone, then..”
“Then what?”
“Then work with me here, don't complicate things, don't make my life hell because I screwed up in the past. Believe me I've paid for it, not having you and our baby with me every day is enough punishment for me. Do you know how much I dreamed of knocking you up?
I've wanted to see you pregnant with my baby, watch you get morning sickness, mood swings, or whatever shit you had when you were pregnant, I wanted to enjoy that experience with you, and I'm not blaming you but I missed that part of Arieya's life, I don't want to miss anymore.”
God, why does he have to be so fucking smooth with his words. Turning around I sigh, “So what exactly is it you want from me?”
“I want to get to know our daughter, I want to be a present father, I want her to see how much I love her. I want to raise her with you, can we be coparents without you trying to murder me?”
“Can you respect the fact that I'm in a relationship with someone? Don't touch me, and not undress me with your eyes?”
“I can't do that.”
“Well then, I can't co parent with you.” I throw my hands up.
“Wait, I'll try.” he tells me.
“Good,” I nod. “But don't expect me to let you keep her as much as I get to every week, she's too little to be passing around.”
“Okay, can I have her for a few days next week?”
“Only if she wants to, and next week is a busy week, so no, you won't have time, neither will I. So, I prefer she stays with me.”
“I'll cancel everything for her,” he tells me.
“I need her, and I will be so stressed, I'll kill everyone if she's not here with me. Looking at Arieya is what keeps me sane, I'm aware this isn't the version of me you knew, but it's me.” I say, bestowing him the look that makes men cower in front of me.
Before he responds I hear Arieya crying and Belle screaming for me. I open the door and go out, with Adrian hastily following.
“Beta, I'm over here.” I let out, watching her go straight ahead, when I speak, she turns.
“There you are, I've been...” She pauses, looking at Adrian leaning by the door frame.
“It's not what you're thinking.” I defend, and proceed to take Arieya from her, kissing her little cheek. “Mio amor, what's wrong?” I ask her, my hand wiping her tears.
“I think someone needs a nap, she beat Karla's new friends.” Mirabelle tells me.
“I wonder where she gets it from, I'm not a bully and King..” I trail off, remembering Adrian is behind me
“Daddy,” Arieya cries.
“Shit,” I grit through my teeth. “Why the fuck did I...” I halt, hearing a disapproving growl behind me. “And now?”
“Can you not curse in front of the baby?” he raises an eyebrow.
“The fuck? Since when do you tell me what to fucking say in front of my daughter?”
“Here we go,” Mirabelle sighs.
“No, because whose vagina was ripped while pushing this baby out? Mine right? Yeah, so don't tell me what to say or not in front of her I'll say whatever the fuck I want.” I tell him, turning to Belle. “Help me lay her to sleep won't you?”
“Sure,” Mirabelle smiles, taking Arieya into her arms, only to dump her with Adrian, who takes her, securing her with one arm. “See, I came for the pool party, not auntie duties but you two made the baby together, you can handle her tantrum together.” she grins, merrily skipping away like a rainbow fairy.
“Shh, don't cry love.” Adrian murmurs, brushing Arieya's back and she rests her head on his chest, her quivering still at bay.
“Stop quivering Arieya, no one likes a crybaby.”
“Don't build her insecurities, let her cry.”
“Insecurity?" I laugh. “For heavens sake, she's two fucking years old.”
Adrian places a hand over Arieya's ear, and zeroes his gaze on me. “You're acting like you need a good fuck, and if you don't shut up so we can put her to sleep, I'll give it to you.” he warns.
“The nerve,” I gasp. “Give me my daughter,” I tell him, trying to take her but she hangs on tight to him, protesting with wails when I don't stop.
“Arieya!” I gasp, feeling deserted by my own child, betrayed to say the least.“Are you for real sweetie? You are switching up on me for this guy? You just met him baby.” I frown.
“What do you expect? She's my daughter after all and now I see why you didn't want me near her, you're scared she loves me more.”
I bite down on a remark that could start another argument.
“Where do you want to put her?”
“My room.” he retorts.
“No,” I shake my head. “My daughter isn't sleeping on the sheets that you-”
“I haven't been with anybody for a long time,” he argues my unfinished statement. “And I don't jerk off on my sheets.”
I wet my lips, taken aback by his statement, what does he mean for a long time? I -
No, I shake the thought off. “Is that so?” I grin, knowing the last part is obviously a lie.
“I do it in your room,” he smiles, his smile growing wider when mine falls.
He doesn't know this but this arguing is active foreplay for me, it's torturing me inside, and what's worse is acting like I wouldn't rather fuck this entire argument out and be over with it.
“I love holding her,” he smiles, rocking her in his arms, “I wish I could have been there to hold her when she was born.”
“You didn't know she existed, so stop acting like a victim when you would have been a shitty father and we'd have raised her in a toxic environment with your temperamental love. One of your fuck buddies would have probably poisoned my baby, and one of them that claims I killed her child, I bet she would have murdered mine to settle the score when in reality the moon goddess just didn't allow your child to be part of this world. But, screw me, I got blamed for it.” I shrug.
“Aren't you a very petty Alpha Camilla.” Adrian laughs, peeking at Arieya slowly drifting to sleep. “So, what was she like as a baby?”
“She hated me for a close month or two, it was as if she knew I almost aborted her.”
“That shouldn't have crossed your mind,” Adrian lets out, his voice nearly cracking.
“The last thing I wanted was a baby from someone that never loved me nearly half as much as I did them. You're lucky you got a baby from me, appreciate her, she's the only child you'll ever have, considering I'm the only woman that can bear you kid.”
“Don't you want more kids?” he asks.
“Oh, Sweetie,” I grin. “I'm a royal.” I announce, laughing as he watches me, trying to find the humor in my words.
When he finally grasps I'm grinding because he isn't the only one that can father my kids, he frowns, causing me to grin more. “Yea,” I nod. “But I'm good with two kids, I don't need a third baby daddy but if I ever need a third baby? Trust me, your bed is the last option.” I sigh, extending a hand to tap on his shoulder. “
“I'm going back outside, talking to you gives me migraines. Keep my daughter off your nasty sheets, and if anything happens to my sweet little girl, you're fucking dead Alpha Adrian Carter.”
