Chapter 165: Chapter 165

“I'm assuming we all know each other,” I bite out, shrugging at Camilla's glare. She might feel betrayed right now but I'm simply helping her make the right decision.

“I'm afriad so,” she says, turning to him and I can hear her heart pounding despite the calm composure she's exhibiting.

“Adrian and I had a lunch meeting so I invited him because I wanted to spend time with you

when I saw you here and I couldn't cancel, he came all the way from Midnight Saints.” I tell her.

“We can spend time together tomorrow,” Camilla rises. “ I will come to your place, but I'm not bringing her because I can't trust you anymore.” she shrugs, gathering her papers into one file.

“Camilla,” Adrian finally finds his voice, whispering her name like it was a forbidden praise to an outcast goddess.

“Sit down child,” I tell her, grabbing her phone and using it to gesture to the now empty seat.

“I have places to be at.” she snorts.

“Yes, we are aware of your busy schedule but don't you have something to say to Alpha Adrian?” I urged.

Camilla rolls her eyes. “Alpha Adrian?” she frowns, her gaze shifting between us. “Why? Alpha Adrian isn't an acquaintance of mine.” she presses her lips together, glaring at me.

“You sure about that? Because if you don't I will and you'll be mad at me again for something unavoidable.” I tell her.

Camilla groans, slumping her files back on the table with a little too much evident frustration. Settling into her seat she snarls at him. “Fine. How are you?”

“Fine,” Adrian gulps, visibly confused. “How have you been?”

“I've been amazing,” she smiles. Her gaze shifts to me with the same phony smile. “There, I played nice with your little friend. Can I go on with my life now?” she asks, not a hint of humour evident in her gaze.

“Mia, I'm so sorry.”

“I don't want your apology Alpha Adrian, if I had my way, I wouldn't be staring at your face right now but since my Aunt loves butting into my personal matters,” she veers to me. “Here we are, thanks Queen Amaya.”

“I know you're upset, and with every right, I took you granted, and I'm very sorry, I regret every wrong in the way I treated our relationship, I -”

Camilla snorts, “Pardon me but I don't remember asking for an apology.” he says, cutting him off.

“Camilla,” I warn.

“What do you want me to say Aunt Amaya?” she counters, “What should I discuss with this person, should I start airing out my dirty laundry at a public restaurant?”

“Mia,” Adrian begins once again, only to be cut off by Camilla's maniacal laughter that has me regretting calling Adrian here.

“Kindly shut the fuck up will you?” she snorts. “I don't want to be here, I don't want to have this conversation. I didn't come here to listen to your empty apologize that can't do shit but remind me of everything I've long forgotten.”

I reach for her, opening my mouth to speak but she shakes her head. “This is what you wanted.” she tells me, her gaze veering back to Adrian. “I am not going to throw shade at you because I'm bitter about how things ended between us but the truth is I don't give a fuck about that.

Clearly you weren't the I will never know why you didn't just tell me you weren't ready for a relationship with me. I would gave easily nderstood it if you were honest with me because that would have hurt less than the goddamn fucking shit you put me through. I at least thought we had trust if not love but no, that was just me, you accused me of killing your child with the actual preferred mate.” she snorts, sparing me a glance to know she's referring to my earlier revelation.

I tense. I feel like I shouldn't be here, but I'm here to keep her in check but the way Camilla's voice is breaking, her body language, it all makes me feel odd. I should excuse myself but she might take the opening to strangle him if left alone with him.

“I'm so fucking done with you, in case nearly three fucking years of not seeing me wasn't a clue enough. Your constant hurt turned me into someone else, someone I never wanted to let out. You know what, fuck it. I need to get out of here before I strangle you.” she snorts. “If forgiveness is what you want, I forgive you. Your token of appreciation for letting you waste my time took eight months to come but she's worth it. Thanks, she's a good baby.” She rises, gathering her papers once again, this time it's easier because they're already compiled.

Adrian's eyes widened, it taking him a second to process what Camilla meant.

“Baby?”

“Yes, isn't that what you came here to hear? Are you happy now Queen Amaya.” she turns to mem

“We have a baby?

“Hmph,” Camilla glares at him. “ I just wanted to cum and before I knew it, I was pushing a tiny human out of my vagina.”

A laugh gets caught in my throat and Camilla eyes me with an infuriated gaze.

“You were pregnant?” Adrian asks the obvious question, saving me from Camilla's glare.

“Yes Alpha genius, you did a good job, should I clap for you?”

One again I'm fighting back another laugh, Camilla is funny without trying, it's times like these that have me not taking her glares to heart. Camilla held out her hand, “My phone Queen Amaya, my daughter is probably crying and the babysitter too.”

“We..we, We have a daughter?” he stutters.

“Umm, no. I have a daughter, and you, Alpha Adrian, you have a stuttering problem.”

Adrian runs a hand through his hair, “Wow, this is a lot to take in.”

In response, Camilla laughs. “You don't have to take it in, she's my daughter, she hasn't needed you before and sure as fuck won't ever need you.”

“Camilla, she's our daughter.” he corrects her.

Camilla shakes her head, “My daughter, mine!...” she yells. “Think of this as if you donated sperm and forget about it, forget about me and my daughter, it's the least you owe me.” she growls, her gaze shifting to her empty hand. “You want to keep my phone?” she asks, her chest rising and falling in a hurried pattern.

I set the phone in her hand and she clasps it, sending one last glare at Adrian. “If you try to act smart and follow me, your mother will lose another of her children.” she warns, striding away hastily. Adrian dismisses her warning, rising to follow her but I grip his hand, shaking my head.

“Sit down Adrian, I know she seemed awfully calm but she's fuming with hostility, chances are she might take you up on her promise if you follow her. She's at her most dangerous when she's upset, and I know you have so many questions but be patient.” I tell him.

Adrian sits, watching Camilla walk out the revolving doors. “I have a daughter?”

I nod, “She's a wonderful little girl, beautiful too.”

“She undoubtedly is, her mother is the very epitome of beauty.” he smiles. “What is she like, have you met her?”

I nod, my lips curving into a smile. I see why Sheryl is fond of Adrian, he's not a bad person, he's someone that made a few bad choices. Camilla should forgive him, she should let him be a parent to their daughter, both him and Arieya deserve that much. I could show him a picture but I bet nothing will beat seeing her in person for the first time, it's a reaction I don't want to steal from Arieya. Surely, she'll engrave the memory of looking at her dad meeting her for the first time in her head.
