Chapter 130: Chapter 130

“Me? No, you knew all her secrets so tell it.” he laughs, relaxing into his chair.

I nod, turning to Camilla as I contemplate where to begin, Arieya wasn't just my sister, she was my best friend. If anyone knows anything about her, it's me and some secrets I'll take to the grave but this one, I have to share. I was the first person she told she was expecting and I remember that joyous day as clear as day, she loved Ezekiel and having their child was a dream come true for her.

Camilla is staring at me anxiously when I begin to speak. “Arieya had a mate before your dad, well she had two mates to say but she could not stand Austen. Yet she was at peace with it, but then she met Ezekiel and it was love at first smack.” I snort, my mind replaying their first meeting but I shake it off, giving my full attention. “She loved your dad more than anything but hated her other mate, they married but Austen wasn't having it, he had her first, he too loved her despite her lack of reciprocity. Arieya rejected him and as you know, once you reject your mate you're both destined to die.” I tell her, earning a slow precise nod from her, her hand still in her father's hand. “I thought all three of them would die but only Austen died, your parents stayed alive. Their love was enough to keep both of them alive, or so we thought. Everything was going great, they had you, they adored you so much, you were heaven to them.”

Camilla shakes her head, her hand smacking the side of her head. “Okay, you're my mom's family and she's dead but why are we reliving the last right? You could have sent me an email with this information rather than going all C.I.A with it, it's not necessary.” she tells me, shaking her head as she speaks, her eyes blank of all emotion as she stares at me.

“It is necessary, you are one of us, your children will be one of us and part shifter of course. You might birth the most powerful being out there one day, as scary as that sound, you will need our help to protect that child or children if need be.” I tell her.

“She's the most powerful shifter there is,” Enrique argues.

Enrique is right, Camilla is the strongest shifter existing right now. Her abilities have been suppressed but still very very exhibited themselves and she concealed them quite easily. She got her wolf from very young, it is unheard of with children to get it younger than twelve but Camilla could shift since she was a year old. It was chaotic, so chaotic that Arieya worried for her daughter's life.

The decision to suppress her abilities until she was of age came from both her biological parents, it was their last wish and we would make sure it was fulfilled. Camilla never fought back, she learnt young her fighting back resulted in more mayhem than the other kids fighting back.

Due to her gentle nature, suppressing the evil within her, she was presumed to be the weakest in the room when in reality, she was stronger than everyone combined. If she wanted to, Camilla can take over the world, she only sees a bit of what power she holds and considers it a lot, she's wrong, there's so much more.

Arieya was a powerful Royal and she passed it all down to her daughter who doesn't even know she has it, as well as her son, that one knows exactly what he is made of. I want to tell her about him but she will have to wait until he returns from his trip, with his new obsession. Now that I'm analyzing Arieya's kids, they're very alike. I know for a fact when they meet, they'll either burn the world down or build it up.

“I am sorry I kept you in the dark princess, I was simply protecting you from them, they are over controlling, they would have put pressure on you to grow, to rule, and I wanted you to grow step by step.”

Everyone laughs in response, Amaya letting out some protesting murmurs but we all know Enrique is right. We would have groomed her to be the perfect queen, one like her mother, filling the shoes she left.

While other kids played with toys, she would have been learning of every realm, every pack to ever exist. Enrique and Reina always have been the best option for her, they've raised her excellently in my opinion, she couldn't have turned out better.

Some things no one could control, like the things she gets up to in the night when she's alone, a new blade in her hand, playing the artist she shouldn't be.

“You are not a bad person Camilla,” I tell her. “Nothing is ever your fault. I'm sorry your previous life didn't work out but that's okay, it's all good honey, you're right where you should be in life.”

“Yes,” Enrique nods, endorsing my comment. “We are all very proud of you, my little princess. I told you you'd do great things and look around you now, you've achieved just that.” he tells her, his hand stroking her hair.

“I don't know what to say, I'm feeling a little lightheaded.” she mumbles, fanning herself with her hand.

Cameron slides a water bottle to her, “You can call me uncle Cameron.”

“Just Ethan,” my stupid brother let's out, earning himself so many objections and taunts about him trying to stay young.

“And we are your aunties, sorry we weren't a part of your life before but we are now and if you'd like an official crowning–”

“No,” Enrique retorts, cutting Trisha short on her sentence. Trisha is keen on getting Camilla a crown but Enrique doesn't want that, and as her legal and sole guardian we must respect his choice as well as her own.

“She can't be an official princess or take up her mothers duties, she's already doing what she wants, don't make her offers.” he asserts, his hand still caressing her hair as she drinks the water Cameron slides over to her. She did second guess drinking it but she's drinking it now, slowly to ensure she doesn't choke.

“So, one more niece. Great,” Jason murmurs, his gaze in Camilla. “Princess I hope you don't max out credit cards like Victoria, oh, wait-” he gapes, sitting up in his chair, the realization of who his niece is sinking in. “You earn your own money.” he grins.

“New favorite niece,” Xavier and Melvin say in unison, bumping their fists.

Diamond giggles, “Are you kidding me, a niece that doesn't want me to buy her anything? I've prayed for you my whole life Camilla.”

“Welcome the family.” Christina cheers, her head falling back in her seat.

“If you're Anything like Arieya's other offspring, you're going to need a therapist.” Taylor smiles, half jokingly and more so serious.

No one laughs at his joke, Arieya's son isn't something to bring up with intent of lightening up the mood, the boy is the devil, literally, Arieya named him Hades. I know he's my nephew but Hades acts like he doesn't have a heart, and will go to whatever extent just to prove he has none, kind of like the situation his sister is in.

Enrique looks at his watch then glares around the table, “Oh would you look at the time, I need to get going, I'm too old to stay up this late, old age folks, you know right Amaya?” he asks, simply to work a nerve on her. He knows she values her youth, way too much than she actually should. “When will I see you again princess?” he asks, veering his full attention to Camilla.

“Tomorrow,” she tells him.

Enrique kisses her forehead and pats her head, wishing everyone a good night as he walks away. Everyone is just staring at one another now, not saying a word.

I clear my throat, surging from my seat. “Camilla, I'm sure beta must be looking for her Alpha.”

Her chair screeches, and she rises to leave, not knowing what to do, she flickers her hand in a wave motion to everyone. “Have a good night everyone,” she says, walking around the table to where I stand, my hand now gripping the doorknob. I twist the doorknob, waiting for Camilla to exit first.

“Don't be a stranger Camilla Mia Hearst Burton.” Amaya calls out, just as my hand closes the door behind us.

“I know we are a dysfunctional family but we will always have your back, you can count on us like you do the Burton family.”

Camilla pauses, “Was she happy?”

“Always, she was never angry or upset with anyone. I want you to know that they wouldn't have traded you for anything, your dad always bragged to his fellow Alpha's that his daughter was the prettiest and luckiest because Arieya was your mom.”

“Yes,” Camilla nods. “That might be the only good luck I've ever had.” she says, resuming her walk.

I too join her, neither of us saying a word until we're back into view of the party, “This is it, an auction with shocking revelations.” she sighs, her fingers taping at her phone.

“What can I say, I have a neck for parties.” I smirk, earning a smile from Camilla that makes my heart swell with excess pride.

“I don't like your siblings much, they don't seem genuine and auntie Sheryl doesn't suit you, you're too young.” she shrugs, her gaze blankly peering at mem

I laugh, “Mother will love meeting you, and trust me, that group of airheaded crown heads will always be there when you need them, they're reliable and loving.”

Camilla nods, biting on my lip. “So I'm part Royal now?”

“No, you are not part Royal, you're fully royal. Our family genes are stronger than other Royals families, you're exclusively a Royal, you have all the gifts of our family and your one special gift that no one else has.” I explain, my gaze roaming to see wandering eyes, if there's any.

Camilla's face furrows, “I don't understand.”

“Hmm, my special Royal knack is I can penetrate people's dreams, and Amaya sees the future. Arieya's unique gift was element control, mostly fire and wind but she also had another but we don't talk about it because the walls have ears and they're jealous.” I wink.

“I didn't inherit any of her abilities, not even my dad's abilities.”

“According to my reports, you are a huge fan of self harm.” I counter, raising an eyebrow at her horrible habit that needs medical attention.

Her eyes widen, looking around to see if anyone is eavesdropping before resting on me. “Are you spying on me?”

“My point is, you don't have any scars, you heal timely, that's a family trait and by the way Killing Alpha Hayden and Luna Charity was a bold move. However, you didn't have to be ruthless with it.”

Camilla shakes her head, a tired smile stretching on her lips. “Goodnight Sheryl.”

“Goodnight Thumbelina,” I retort, sparking a cold glare.

“Can you not call me that,” she frowns.

“Of course not, I'll continue to call you thumbelina till the day I die, which isn't anytime soon. I'm in great health.” I whisper, my hand waving at someone behind her. I place a kiss on her cheek as I walk past her, apparent irritation consuming her as she surveys the room for Camilla with her eyes. Probably looking for Mirabelle or Kingston, she's grown fond of him just like the way Angel is with Adrian.
