Chapter 41: Chapter 41

The witch let out a sigh as she raised her hand, muttering, "Now, I have no food to eat. If only more of you came here every so often, I wouldn't be stuck eating fruit all the time."

She moved her fingers and the small black snakes slittered off of their shoulders and to the ground then glided over to her. They all glided into her black dress and blended into it. I was amazed, yet horrified at such magic, but I was also curious about what she said, so I asked her, "Why won't you leave this forest then if there's no food here?"

She looked at me, feeling surprised that I heard her mutterings, probably, not aware of my werewolf hearing. However, she tightened her lips and answered me, "I am bound to this forest forever, that is how it is, I don't remember anything besides being in this forest and eating any living thing that comes in here and gets trapped in my illusion."

"Then I wish that you will be able to leave someday and be free." I said to her, sincerely as I saw Alpha Clause and the others waking up from their illusion, shaking their heads and rubbing their eyes.

I looked back at her to see that she looked shocked at my words and a small smile touched her lips as she muttered, "Thank you, Luna Fay."

She also seemed shocked that I was able to see through her illusion since none of the others were able to break it, even the Five Lycan Alphas.

Before I could ask how she knew my name, she vanished and I turned around to rush to Alpha Clause as he looked confused and worried, looking around. As he saw me, he looked relieved as he grabbed my shoulders, "Baby, are you alright? I just saw Alpha Ross kill you right in front of me and I wanted to kill myself to follow you, but then it suddenly vanished."

"That's what I saw and felt too, but I was able to break away to kill the snake that the witch planted on all if our shoulders to place us under her illusion, but I'm fine and so are you." I explained to him as I gave him a reassuring smile.

Realization showed on his face as he let go of my shoulders and tapped his chin in thought, "An illusion? That makes so much sense, so you killer the witch and freed us all?"

I shook my head as I answered him, "Not exactly, I just made her promise not to bother us again or I'll rip her throat out."

He looked impressed as his lips twitched up into a smile and his hand cupped my cheek, "You are so brave, Fay, and I'm glad that we had you with us or I don't know what would have happened to us today."

"Exactly, and we are extremely grateful for your help." Alpha Nathan said as he stepped towards us.

Luna Kasey was beside him as she nodded with a grateful smile on her lips, "Yes, thank you so much, Luna Fay! We owe you our lives."

"Thank you!" The rest all exclaimed, looking grateful except for Luna Hailey and Luna Ashley who were studying me, but I wasn't sure why.

"You're all welcome, besides, we're all friends here." I replied to them as I gave them a reassuring smile.

"Let's get moving and keep an eye out for any more witches, illusions or traps." Alpha Mason said as he looked over at us.

However, after a few moments of walking, a loud noise echoed through the forest and suddenly, a large net pulled us all up to the tree that it was tied to. I gasped, realizing that we had just stepped into a trap on the forest floor. I glanced around at Alpha Clause and everyone as the Lunas looked panicked.

Alpha Clause looked at me with his alluring dark eyes as he took my hand in his and gave me a reassuring nod, "Don't be scared, Fay, we're going to get out of here."

"But how are we going to do that?" I asked, feeling worried, but not scared.

"Yeah, how can we get out? We're in this thick net with no weapons!" Alpha Sloan exclaimed, looking frustrated as he ran a hand through his blonde hair.

"We will find a way out no matter what." Alpha Clause answered him as he studied the rope in front of us.

"Who trapped us here anyway?" Luna Kat asked as she frowned.

"Since there's no one here, it must be the forest itself." Alpha Mason answered her as he tugged at the ropes of the large net.

"Yeah, that makes more sense since the Forbidden Forest is full of magic." Alpha Nathan said as he nodded his head while looking up at the center of the net, trying to find a way out.

"So the most important question now is how do we get out?" Luna Ashley asked as she glared at the ropes.

"I know what we need to do." Alpha Clause answered her as he lifted his right hand up then started extending his Lycan claws out.

He slashed at the ropes on our side and they broke. I smiled as I exclaimed, "We're free! You've saved us, Clause!"

He glanced at me as he replied, "Anyone could have thought of that, now, come on, we need to jump down."

"Okay." I answered him as I saw the other Alphas extending their claws and slashing at the ropes on their side too.

I looked back at Alpha Clause just as he gripped my hand tighter and said, "We jump on the count of three, okay?"

"Okay." I answered him and drew in a deep breath before letting it out as I waited for him to count.

"One, two, three."

We both jumped at the same time and landed squatting then straightened up. His lips twitched up into a reassuring smile as his gaze captured mine, "We're going to be just fine, my Fay."

"I know, honey." I replied to him as my lips stretched into a large smile.
